Everything tried... same as usual...

I really think this has something to do with the NVDANV50Hal.kext! This Kext is the only way to get 1920x1080... Maybe i have to add my GTX in info.plist ?

With the old IOPCIFamily and AppleACPIPlatform, the computer restarted after NVDANV50Hal was loaded and registered successfully...

Maybe it depends on all 3 kexts :-)

You may try...

Just if you don`t know exactly where you have to add your DeviceID, you have to find this key...

Code:
<key>IOPCIPrimaryMatch</key>
<string>
0xYYYY10de&0xfff0ffff
Replace YYYY for your DeviceID...

exactly what i tried about 10 minutes ago nothing changed

i added the string to all Nvidia Kexts...

replacing the IOPCIFamily and the AppleACPIPlatform kexts with 10.6.7 kexts causes kernel panic...

maybe there is a string to change inside this kexts? eventually my Mainboard isnīt compatible out of the box with 10.6.8...

iīm with the osx86 Project since 10.5.0 and fixed many problems by myself... but in this case iīm really stuck

Here are my System specs:

Mainboard: ASUS M3A
CPU: Phenom 9850
RAM: 4 GB Corsair DDR2 800

worked flawlessly from 10.5.5 to 10.6.7

i was a long time on 10.6.4 because i thought: never touch a running system

then i upgraded to 10.6.7 and everything worked as expected

5 minutes after updating to 10.6.7 i remarked the 10.6.8 update and thought that canīt be wrong

and then FAILURE...

a never ending story

by the way... thank you for your help! i really appreciate it.

That`s weird

No... i think it`s not the point...

One thing that you can try is download the UpdateCombo 10.6.8 fromApple website and reinstall again...

Maybe this works, after change many times in many files, sometimes we forget the changes that we made...

You have stored the EFI-String that you use for your video???

That way, you can remove all video kexts that you have installed, run the combo update and first try only
with the original kexts + EFI-String...

you made my day

i recently updated with the normal update 10.6.8...

after installing the combo update, i got 1280x1024 and Apple Software Renderer

now i tried the injectors... this ended up like before (had NVinject, natit, NVEnabler and EFI-String at the same time) now i got native resolution and 6032 FPS in OpenGL Extensions Viewer... After a while, the Screen was half black and i could do what i want (not responding)

i rebooted in single user mode and deleted all injectors... i remembered, that there were drivers from the Nvidia homepage.. I downloaded these and now it works!

All i needed was the EFI-String created with GFXUTIL and the Drivers from Nvidia.

Thank you so much for this very helpful tip.
