PNY GeForce 8400GS 512mb PCI. (Not PCIe)

I just recently installed SL on my dell dimension 3000. At first it didnt boot right so I tried booting safe mode (-x) then i messed around with these GeForce.kext, NVDANV50Hal.kext, NVDAResman.kext. now i could finally boot in regular but the graphics is still not installed correctly.

i was kinda thinking that i should switch drivers from nvenabler to nvinject cause when i had leopard nvinject seemed to work. But how do you switch NVEnabler to NVInject?

esay use the app to install the kext simply by dropping the kext into the app
open the app.

hit installation on the tab on the app.

drop it in change the location to system/library/extensions choose the correct hdd. and install.

after go to this location;

system/library/extensions

and remove
nvinject.kext

and while your there make sure your new kext was installed correctlly should be in the same folder .

now go back to app and hit the maintenance tab check them all and execute. reboot



or even easier solution instead of playing with kext have you tried boot flag

GraphicsEnabler=Yes

at boot

Thanks very much for the reply but i tried both of those methods exactly as you said but neither worked. I cant even change the resolution. Do you think this is because of my date and time problem?

hey did you ever get this video card to work, i just bought mine and im hopeing it will work.
