Default GeForce 7300 GS DVI + VGA

    Hallo all,

first I`ve to say thank you to alle the active guys on this bord for all the very usefull entrys here.

I`ve seted up my machine with the Lifehacker methode and have corrected the DSDT so that I have a working graphics detection via the GraphicsEnabler entry in the Boot.plist.

My graphic card is detected as Nvidia GeForce 7300 GS wich is right.
But I`ve only a signal on the VGA port so that my second monitor which is conected to the DVI port of the card is black....

Is there a way to use both ports for an extended desktop?

If this is not possible with this card, is there a card (Nvidia) wich works for two monitors with OSX 10.6, maybe out of the box? Also a card with two DVI ports is welcome....

It would be very nice if someone can share his expierience with such problems.

Thank you very much and please excuse my poor english.

    ron

I really have no idea why your DVI isn't working, but I can confirm DVI and VGA both work on my 7600 GT. I used to have a 7300 GS also, I'm pretty sure DVI worked on it too.

To start with I'd go back and double check the graphics settings you used when you created/customised your DSDT.

    Hi Axiom,

    thank`s for your reply.
Nice to hear that it shold work normaly... maybe my DSDT makes trouble.
I`ve not enougth knowledge to check everything inside it....

I`ve asked AsereBLN for an DSDT for my board, without graphic stuff mabybe then will it work.

ronboy, my 7300 would only run in 32-bit under Sno Leo, but both outputs worked OK. I bought a GT220 that works correctly either 32 or 64 mode. Try rebooting in 32-bit and see if that gets both working...

    Hi richiem,

thank`s for your help but I`ve no luck...

I`ve setted up the system new:

-OSX 10.6 plain vanilla and Chameleon bootloader
    -10.6.2 combo update
    - system is running 32 bit because the GeForce 7xxx make problems
    in 64 bit (Netkas Blog: http://netkas.org/?p=315 )

-graphic detection is on in the boot.plist
-card is located in the only PCIe port of the board (GA-EP 45-DS3L_F10)
-card is detected right in system preferences
-first screen (VGA) is detected right
-second screen (DVI) is not detected

At boot screen and boot lgo both screens run in mirrored mode,
when OSX starts up the DVI connected screen goes in sleep mode.
If I force him to start manualy he runs but shows black screen.

Under WIN 7 and Ubuntu Linux the card is running perfect in dual screen mode, so that I know the card is not defect.

At wich point are these things handeled in OSX ? Where can I looking for to get these work. It would be nice if someone can tell me where I have to search....

    Thank you, ron

    Hey guys,

Since some times I would have a card with 2 DVI ports for good quality on both screens so I`ve taken today a GeForce 9800 GT.

Installed, boot up and everything works fine out of the box

But now my network (Realtek RTL 8168) is gone....

With my old card (GF 7300) the nework are running out of the box, now
with the new graphic the network is death ???

What could the reason for this ? I`ve no problem to buy a cheap network card, but I`m interessted on the things behind this behavior.

    Thank you, ron

@ronboy -- run this installer, which makes Realtek on-board detection native in SL. It'll put the drivers in your Sys/Lib/Ext folder. Even if it doesn't fix your immediate problem, you should have it anyway.

To get VGA/DVI port, generate EFI string using Nvidia 7500 256MB. I also change NVCAP data in the string to BAAAAAAAAQAGAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA=
