If anyone has a SAPPHIRE 100245HDMI Radeon HD 4850 512MB 256-bit GDDR3 rev 2 card and got it to work, I should would appreciate the steps that you took and a link to the files that you used. I have tried numerous different ways and still have had no luck in getting this card to work to its full potential. I can get it to work in 10.6.2 if i delete all ati kexts, but will only have 1024 x 768 resolution available.

Well I don't have exactly your 4850 but two others (both with two dvi which may makes the different)
My way for 10.6.2: add you device id to your ati4800controller.kext and delete all other ati4xx0controller.kext files. rebuild extension.mkext after you deleted your kextcache. boot first time with -x or ignoring keytcache.
    give us a feedback.

First of all thanks for the help. I get a black screen with a floating box that says Not optimum mode 2048 x 1152 60 Hz ?, with a DVI to DVI cable. I just get a black screen with a VGA to VGA cable or a DVI to VGA adapter.

Here is what is strange about this card. I can log into my desktop with Windows 7 and RealVNC and it shows the correct info for my graphic card and my display. I can go to system preferences and change the resolution and frequency to all available ones that my card supports and it still has a black box on the actually samsung monitor that says "Not Optimum Mode 2048x1152@60Hz" but that is exactly what it is set as. Does anyone have any ideas what the problem might be, I am at the end of my rope on this one and about ready to buy a different card.
