Few Device-id's are tweaked to get out of the box support
Test it and let me know whether it still freezes or not

Hi Mark, Just place the DSDT.aml in the root partition and check whether the system freezes after u login to ur desktop. Cheers, Mahesh Kondraju |

Mahesh, I am currently running voodoopowermini.kext instead of native power since my system runs much cooler. I would like to use native power management and Lion, could you tell me what your current set up is (kexts installed in "Extra/Extensions" and SLE) and how stable it is. I am currently running 10.6.7 with a ton of kexts only because I find it the most stable (the only problem I have is that it will randomly not wake from sleep). Hi Handz, Firstly sorry mate for a late reply, before suggesting u i need to know what kind of a system do u have. I mean a detailed description of processor ( as generally inspiron 1525 uses intel pentium dual core and also core 2 duo some times), videocard etc. Well regarding native power management it definitely works but the problem is u we cant change the fan speed rpm with plugin created by hacintosh community used in fakesmc. The maximum fan speed in os x is 2880 rpm where as in windows it goes to 4000 rpm when it's needed, thats the reason why the system is hot. The alternate solution is to use voodoo powermini, by the way u doesnt seems to be using the main power management kext which is voodoo pstate which really cools down ur cpu and u need to use it along with voodoo power mini. In short voodoo powermini and voodoo pstate kext is the combination which u need to be considered for cpu power management. By the way i have checked ur kexts well u seems to be using quite unnecessary kexts and it seems to be huge mess. well i guess i need to give a huge explanation. well i have already written a huge message so far. so firstly let me know ur hardware and then i will prepare a kext pack for ur system as well a s a tutorial. cheers, Mahesh Kondraju |

@ Hanndz, By the way i haven't answered ur other queries, am currently on lion but i feel its quite slow and graphic drivers or kexts really suck, its way way slower than snow leopard graphics but its definitely stable with no crashes what so ever. May be graphics drivers might improve in comming update's for lion. And regarding native power management in lion it's still the same and it will be, u need to use voodoo pstate and powermini kexts to keep ur cpu cooler to an extent ( i.e. its cooler on idle but when ur under load its goes beyond 70 c and touches close to 80 c, reason for this is as u can't increase or change or modify the fan speed so it remains hotter) cheers, Mahesh Kondraju |

Mahesh, Thanks for the reply, I have been on vacation and only read your suggestions recently. My exact system is as follows: Core 2 duo 1.83Ghz @ 667 bus Ram also @ 667 mhz I have a dvd writer, but I will be replacing it with a second hard drive caddy within a couple of weeks Graphics = Intel x3100 - all of the rest of my hardware should be the same as you - but, if you need any other info let me know Although the kexts that I have installed look like a real mess, my system runs extremely smooth, fast, and reliable (probably because I have a SSD installed instead of a spinning hard drive. The only problem I have is that it wil rnadomly not wake from sleep - but I can live with that. I am mainly just interested in setting up a system with know kexts and a proper DSDT, I am just unable to program the DSDT myself. I will try to run your kexts package in the next week, but your DSDT does not seem to provide proper power management for my cpu. Thanks for your help, HAnDZ |

I installed Lion with your DSDT and kexts package. Unfortunately it didn't work very well - it was slow and buggy (especially the trackpad). Also, I don't understand why you have voodoopowermini.kext installed if your running a DSDT with native power support. I was under the impression that as soon as you activate voodoopowermini.kext, your basically not using native power any more. Anyways, I appreciate your help. But I think that I'm going to stick with my system as is for now. Thanks again, HAnDZ |

Hey handz, As i told earlier native power management works and idle temps settle at 52 to 55 c because fans desn't flush out heat and system remains hotter where as voodoo pstate and powermini helps me to get 43 c idle temps with same fan rpm, thats the reason y I chose voodoo pstate over native. Its ur choice mate. By the way my cpu is different its intel pentium dual core which uses same merom profile like core2 duo. so my p states doesnt work for u and my pstates are embedded in the dsdt. so u need to override with ur pstates with the one's in the dsdt to get native power management. voodoo pstate is the main kext replacement for |

Mahesh, That makes sense that the power management wasn't working since the DSDT isn't for my core 2 duo. How complicated is it for me to write my own P-states into the DSDT? Do you have any links, or have any tips, that might help me out? |
