Atheros 8151 LAN kext | Size: 66.4 KB |
Kext for Atheros AR8151 LAN card. Added 0x10831969 to Info.plist in AtherosL1cEthernet.kext posted in August by ozi_lion, which added functionality for my card in Lion. Tested and working in OS X 10.7.2 on an HP dm4-2070us notebook with Atheros R8151 LAN onboard.
Installed using Kext Utility, then fixed permissions with Disk Utility and rebooted. In System Preferences > Network, the ethernet adapter appeared and claimed to be assigned an address -- ignore this. Once connected to a LAN cable, it will automatically obtain an IP address, unless you modify the adapter settings. Works great! Please post results.

The old AtherosL1cEthernet.kext made my Qosmio X505 crash every 5 minutes. This new version has solved that. Thanks very much! |

If not, place it in /System/Library/Utilities and run the following command in Terminal: sudo touch /System/Library/Extensions Next time you reboot, the kext should be loaded |
