LION IDT92HD75B3 HP 8540w Audio kext | Size: 302.0 KB |
Working Audio Voodoo kext for IDT 92HD75B3 under LION (tested under 10.7.2). Works on Elitebook 8540w.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Description: backup then trash AppleHDA.kext / OSvKernDSPLib.kext / IOAudioFamily.kext from S\L\E. Install attached VoodooHDA.kext, OSvKernDSPLib.kext, IOAudioFamily.kext using kextwizard or similar too into S\L\E and repair next cache. If KP on boot try -f on boot using bootloader.
Note: To get headphones working use System Preference "Sound" pref pane goto output and select headphones & vice versa to switch back to speakers. Mute and internal laptop LCD Mic works but external mic input jack doesn't.
Post any other Audio solutions you have for lion for Elitebook 8540w if you got a better way!
Edit - having a few issues with flash video sites like youtube (youtube muting during playback), iTunes seems fine and other audio apps.. Strange!?

Thank you very much, this is the only kext to work 100% for me. I am running 10.7.3 using tonymacx86's Unibeast+Retail install method, vanilla kernel, 64-bit on an HP dm4-2070us. I followed your directions and removed the three kexts from /S/L/E, but put your replacement kexts in /Extra to make it easier to troubleshoot my system later. First boot (no flags) and second boot (-f, lowercase f) resulted in a frozen screen just before login, but booting with -F (capital F) gives me full audio functionality, unlike any version of VoodooHDA I've tried. Thank you so much! |

i tried it and after installation, KP on booting. i tried with the flag -f about 5 times but the system wasn't load. then, delete it bly the help of -s flag. my audio that is idt 92HD75B3 has not working until upgrade to 10.7.3. and i also update the kernel with darwin 11.3.0 which is downloaded from osx86.net. are there any suggestion? or anything else. |

guys, the voodoo kext was taken from an earlier revision of OSX (10.5.8 ), and the other files were required to get the voodoo driver to work. probably not suited too well for 10.7 as they are previous revisions. If this doesnt work for you maybe look at a usb speaker solution, alot less hassle than spending hours messing with drivers that no one knows how to get working. ie logitech USB mac compatible speakers http://www.logitech.com/en-nz/speake...s/devices/6527 work great and no issues on youtube either.. |
