Intel X3100 with Dev-ID 2a12
INSTRUCTIONS:
- Install the kext 'AppleIntelGMAX3100FB.kext'
- Execute these commands on terminal:
- sudo perl -pi -e 's|\x86\x80\x02\x2a|\x86\x80\x12\x2a|g' /System/Library/Extensions/AppleIntelGMAX3100.kext/Contents/MacOS/AppleIntelGMAX3100
- sudo perl -pi -e 's|0x2a028086|0x2a128086|g' /System/Library/Extensions/AppleIntelGMAX3100.kext/Contents/Info.plist
- sudo perl -pi -e 's|\x86\x80\x02\x2a|\x86\x80\x12\x2a|g' /System/Library/Extensions/AppleIntelGMAX3100FB.kext/AppleIntelGMAX3100FB
- sudo perl -pi -e 's|0x2A028086|0x2A128086|g' /System/Library/Extensions/AppleIntelGMAX3100FB.kext/Info.plist
- Reboot. Enjoy full resolution with QE/CI and without mouse freezes!
I've added the X3100 Plugin for FakeSMC (temperature monitor)
This one works only with 2a12
Tested and working with Lion 10.7.4

mountain lion will have no support for this card and apps will only work in 64bit. unless someone creates a 64bit extensions for x3100 lion will b as far as we go. x3100 lion was fixed by me two weeks after release . so to me this is of no use unless its 64bit http://www.osx86.net/view/1673-updat...0.7.4__...html here is original fix x3100 |

wait we can't use 32 bit in mountain lion o.O ??? uh oh how did that guy make it 64 bit? we could give him this guys and make it updated but how'd he do it???  |

the drivers are written in 32bit, i don't know how to write drivers, especially in 64bit graphic drivers. we need apple or some genius to do it. but i doubt it it will ever be done we have lion fully accelerated, but mountain. were fudged but were still at developers preview. things might change when its released and i can't wait for the challenge. |

The only 64-bit drivers for the X3100 GPU come from SL 10.6.2. They were buggy as hell and Apple stopped supporting 64-bit drivers for the X3100 after this one release. To my knowledge, you can get accurate resolution with the 64-bit drivers but not the translucent menu bar. It says QE/CI are supported but less so than when booting in 32-bit. |
