Clover V2 r550 .pkg .zip + BootSectors

How to Install for Dummies:

  1. Select Installation Directory by clicking Change Install Location

If you don't know where to install, format your USB Stick to either FAT32 or HFS+ and Install Clover there

Boot, check if it works, if it works install it on your EFI Partition or your OSX Root Partition (that where you installed your OS)

If you are on GPT and you don't have an EFI partition then you didn't created your GPT Partition Table with Disk Utility

If you are on GPT and you don't know what an EFI partition is - read www.projectosx.com forum!

If you are on MBR, well that's not a problem since Clover installs into MBR, just make an partition for it FAT32/HFS+ works fine. You can also simply install it directly on your OS X System partition, Clover willl install into EFI directory on / Filesystem

  2. Click Customize
  3. Leave default options for BIOS MBR unless you are on GPT/UEFI and you know that your UEFI Bios supports it
  4. Change to 32 bit if necessary on your system
  5. Select your EFI Drivers for 32 bit or 64 bit installation
  6. If you don't know what to choose, install only:

    32bit: UsbMouseDxe-32
    64bit: UsbMouseDxe-64, PartitionDxe.efi-64

Don't choose XhciDxe-64 or 32 if you are on USB 3.0/Reneas!

Click install, Reboot, select the right Boot Partition from your Boot menu.
Enjoy Clover V2 and send love to the makers!

FAQ:

Q: I got an error [enter error here] during installation, what do I wrong?
A: Make sure you do choose the right Partition for your installation

Q: I got an freeze after installing Clover with blinking Boot0 1 6 or 7
A: There is a problem with loading chain. Clover loads through your MBR (if you don't know what that is - google for MBR) then seeks for a file according to your selected installation method. It's pretty straight forward and described. If you got problems with the installation use the tools provided inside the BootSectors.zip

Q: Clover? What's that? I don't know s**t about it but I want it anyways.
A: Clover is a custom BootLoader to bridge the gap between Apple Os X kernel hardware calls to non Apple hardware without any modifications inside the Os X itself.

Q: Is Clover better then [enter bootloader here]?
A: Clover uses a different approach. If this works better for you have the answer to that question already. Instead of asking try to understand the boot process by reading about it. It's not rocket science. It's not porn either but a few bits of knowledge won't hurt ya.

Q: I fucked my partition with Clover! All ma data is gone!
A: Very very very (99.59%) unlikely. Clover does not modify and partition table related files.
It does write 440 or 512 bytes of code to a disk MBR. MBR is not a partition table.

Q: Who is doing Clover?
A: Some very talented folk over on http://projectosx.com They will be happy to hear
about you being happy with Clover, so head over and at least donate a beer ;-)
