VoodooHDA Size: 156.2 KB

New (experimental) version of VoodooHDA, that should work with ALC888 and ALC889a (885) on AMD boards with Snow Leopard. Before installing, remove all AppleHDA, HDAEnabler, LegacyHDA etc. You may also need to remove HDEF device from your DSDT if you get a Kernel Panic

So guys here is the scope make sure you remove AppleHDA, HDAEnablers, legacy HDA, if you have HDEF you might as well remove, I did since I never installed it.

Used kext helper to install VoodooHDA.Kext used advanced mode run kext permission first then click run, then used the easy install button to install vooodoohda (ps make sure you drag voodoohda to kext helper screen first, and type in your password in the kext helper where it says password) it would be the password u sued when u first signed into mac os x.

restart your computer then find voodoohda in the application section you will get choppy soft sound when u first play a music file here is the fix.
click on voodoohda it will bring up a screen , put a tick in used SSE2 that will take care of the choppy sound. put a tick in enhance stereo and move the slider all the way right it will increase the sound output and play all of your 5.1 or in my case 6.1 sorround sound on my acer 8930g laptop which uses realtek sound driver what version I don't know but it work. HAPPY SOUND hope this helps

Dude, where is this "Application section" you're talking about ? There's no prefpane in this download. Where do I click on VooDooHDA to bring up a window ?

voodoohda would be in System Preferences if you had downloaded a version of the driver that included the prefspane. This version does not.
