HP Pavilion dv6700 Notebook kexts (drivers/.kext f Size: 2.14 MB

(these instructions are inside the zip file, with proper markup)

This is mostly written as a reference for myself, because I have a horrible memory, but I hope that this can help out all other HP Pavilion dv6700 owners!

Find a guide on how to install Snow Leopard with iBoot. Well documented installation tutorials can be found in the osx86project.org wiki (http://wiki.osx86project.org/wiki/index.php/Installation_Guides). I recommend using bigfloppydonkeydisk's excellent triple-boot guide (http://bigfloppydonkeydisk.blogspot.com/2010/07/triple-boot-windows-7-mac-os-x-snow.html).

At step 18 of "Phase Two: Installing Snow Leopard", installation of MultiBeast, it's crucial to go through these steps:

1) Backup and delete System/Library/Extentions/AppleHDA.kext
2) Install MultiBeast with ONLY these options selected: Rebuild Caches + Rebuild Permissions + VoodooHDA 0.2.2 + fakesmc + EvOreBoot + LegacyAppleRTC + NullCPUPowerManagement + Voodoo PS/2 Controller
3) Don't forget to turn off sleep: System Preferences > Energy Saver > Turn off Computer Sleep for both Power Adapter and Battery
4) Drag all 3 .kext files contained in the zip onto Kext Helper b7 > enter your password > easy install > reboot (it will tell you to Force Quit Kext Helper 0.7)

Hardware specs of HP Pavilion dv6700 Notebook (on which this was tested, in 32-bit mode):
CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo T5850
Chipset: Intel PM965 + ICH8M
Graphics: nVidia GeForce 8400M GS, 256 MB
Sound: Intel 82801HB ICH8
Network: Realtek RTL8101E

Known issues:
Wireless: won't work. If you need wireless buy a cheap wifi card of which you're sure that it is supported.
5-in-1 card reader: not tested, but I imagine it doesn't work as even the Windows 7 drivers are nonexistent.
Webcam: not tested.

Finally no bullshit, just a great working hackintosh except the webcam & wifi. I have noticed only one problem, I don't know if someone else has the same issue but usb flash drive and usb hdd drive are not working. I currently installed OSX 10.6.6, so can someone tell me if he/she is facing the same problem, and if there is a way to fix that?

Ok, I have managed to fix the problem all I had to do is to Replace the IOUSBMassStorageClass.kext

Flashing BIOS to the "F59 patched", this remove the whitelist block for non HP wireless card. Replaced with a Broadcom Apple original, Wifi perfect!
Install from Iboot disc and Snow retail upgraded to 10.6.8.
Cam OK with Multibeast 3.8.0 AppleUSB Rollback.
