By badaxe2This is how i got my D-Link DWL-G520 (Rev working as airport extreme in snow leopard 10.6.2
(This may work for other cards that use the Atheros Communications Inc. AR5212 / AR5213 chip, just add your device id to IO80211Family.kext/Contents/PlugIns/AirPortAtheros.kext/Info.plist)
Download IO80211Family.kext here and unzip it to your desktop.
Install the IO80211Family.kext with kext helper.
Repair disk permisions with disk utility.
Go to system preferences and add new network device, should now show airport.
By kyndderFor people with the controllers listed below and
were supported by the IONetworkingFamily.kext
that was removed in version 10.6.7 and Lion.
This kext was extracted from the original IONetworkingFamily.kext
from version 10.6.5.
Works on both, Snow Leopard, Lion DP4 and maybe the final release...

By JohnDummy KEXT for Atheros Wireless cards. Add device-id to the existing info.plist if need be.
By yonsjeAfter a lot of trial and error, I got my AR9285 working in OSX 10.6.8
In the .zip are two files:
-Apple80211Monitor.bundle - place this file in System/Library/SystemConfiguration (you may need to delete the one that's allready there)
-IO80211Family.kext - install this to System/Library/Extensions using Kext Wizard
Repair permissions, restart and it should work!
By mbembiI used this kext for Intel 82566DM Gigabyte and working on 10.6.8 x64.
the kext from http://osx86.co/f57/intel-ethernet-82566-kext-for-snow-anyone-t3829 thanks to dvil
This KEXT enables most Broadcom 4300 series wireless adapters to work as Airport. I have used this on a couple different setups.
Installation involves several easy steps.
1. Place the file Broadcom43XXFamily.kext into your /Extra/Extensions folder (see below if you do not have an /Extra/Extensions/ folder)
2. This driver has dependencies on the IONetworkingFamily. This means you need to install that .kext as well. Go to /System/Library/Extensions/ and find IONetworkingFamily.kext and copy (using copy and paste) it to the desktop. (You cannot usually paste directly to the /Extra/Extensions/ folder due to permissions blocking that action.
3. Drag the IONetworkingFamily.kext from your desktop to /Extra/Extensions/.
4. Restart. Your card should be automatically detected.
If there is no /Extra/Extensions, just a file called Extensions.mkext, you will need to first create a folder called Extensions in Extra, then open and extract the contents of Extensions.mkext and place the contents into Extra/Extensions. Then remove Extensions.mkext (don't delete it, just move it to the desktop, you may need it later)
(Optional) If you desire, you can also place the Broadcom43XXFamily.kext into your /System/Library/Extensions, but I have not found this to be any more reliable or stable than just locating it in the /Extra/Extensions folder, and there is always the potential for a conflict if you modify your system. Add the file by dragging it onto KextHelper.
The following Chipsets should be supported
BCM 4311 (Natively Supported)
BCM 4323x Family
The following card models should be supported
Linksys PCMCIA Card WPC54G
Netgear WN311B (v1 & 2)
Probably tons of other cards, as long as they have a supported chipset...
I take no special credit for this KEXT. Even though I have written this KEXT and made this available to the community, this hack can be done by anyone with a text editor and a little know how. My goal here is to make a KEXT available to the community that can be installed and will work on as many Broadcom chipsets as possible, and to do it in a Vanilla friendly way.
Added experimental rev2 kext which might add support for more cards. Still, if your card is not on the list or has a chipset not on the above list, don't be surprised if it doesn't work. If it does work, please post your Brand, model number, version number, and chipset.

By buckthis kext will work only if IOPCIFamily.kext is loaded first
By imickThese kexts are?only for OS X 10.6.2?or higher. You might be able to get it to work on 10.6.0 or 10.6.1 if you modify the Info.plist in the kexts and replace the version numbers of all bundles under OSBundleLibraries section with proper versions of your own kexts (use?kextstat?command in the Terminal to find proper versions).
Currently the only two limitations of this beta are that 11g mode is not stable at all, and that WEP/WPA/WPA2 are not yet supported. Which basically means only unsecure 11b networks will work with any reliability. Your mileage may vary. However, the previously fixed tx speed of 11mbps has been removed and the card will now adapt the speed as it sees fit based on line condition. The algorithm has been ported from FreeBSD’s Adaptive multirate retry.
In other news, I’ve stopped counting the number of hours I spend on this project, because I no longer think it serves any useful purpose now that releases of the driver are free from any dependence on donation.
By omnicroncsThis is a modified RT2860 kext from ralink. I have been able to get it working (intermittently) on a HP Pavilion g6 10.5.8 and have got the card recognized by the utility on 10.6.3 and 10.6.7. Please realize this is only an alpha and may not work well on all systems. If you are able to get it working on your ihack please post the details.
Please use the provided utility to connect to networks. If your card is supported, you will see you card in the about section of the utility. If anyone is able to re-right the usb utility to work on pci port then 10.6 compatibility may be possible. Please post your successes

By beepThis one is a great replacement for AttansicL1Ethernet.kext which was not working after waking up from sleep. It had to be reloaded manually.
Works on my Asus P5KC crosflashed with P5KR bios. Should work on other Asus models with AttansicL1 network chip.
