  1. ASUS K55VD Ivy Bridge i7, (With or without DSDT)

ASUS K55VD Ivy Bridge i7, G610M HD4000 (With or without DSDT)

This is a simple guide on how to install Mountain Lion 10.8.2 on an Asus K55VD with Ivy Bridge with or without DSDT.

!!!September 2013 important info about 10.8.5 update!!!
If you update to 10.8.5 it will break USB3 if you enabled it in bios, making your usb ports disabled.
    Solutions:
    Disable XHCI in Bios
or wait for an updated kext here: http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/286860-genericusbxhci-usb-30-driver-for-os-x-with-source/ (Shouldnt be long),
or replace kext with beta kext GenericUSBXHCI_1.2.5d5.tar.gz found here: http://sourceforge.net/projects/genericusbxhci/files/Snapshots/
Also if you got minor problems with preferences (brightness, boot options....) after update type this in terminal: sudo nvram boot-args="" then reboot (Not related to USB3)
UPDATED JULY 2013: read at bottom.

    Working:
    Speedstep
    Turbo boost
    Shutdown
    Restart
    Sleep
    Awake
    Battery indicator
    HD4000
    PS2 Keyboard

    USB2
USB3 (now working better with july update, check below) ---> OK, but either USB3+USB1 , or USB2+USB1
(power problem, bug also present on some MacBook Pro 2012 with 10.8.x).
    Select from bios :
For USB1+USB3 only: Legacy Off, XHCI Enabled.
For USB1+USB2 only: Legacy Enabled, XHCI Off.

    Not Working:
    G610M
    VGA Port (G610M)

    Card reader (Bug Realtek+10.8.2?)
Gestures (now working with july update)
FN Keys (now working with july update)

    Tools needed:

    Secure Boot Control: Disabled

    Boot FROM USB KEY
    Launch DISK UTILITIES:
    Select destination disk
    1 Partition,
    Options: MBR,
    Format: Mac OS Extended Journaled.
    Close diskutils

    Directory: Extra (USBKEY)
    Remove Kexts: Yes, Yes, Yes

    3/ POST-INSTALL:

Reboot from USBKEY, at prompt enter -V -F -X.

Go to S/L/E, remove GFORCE Kexts (9 Kexts, 4 GeForce, 5 NV...) and Myhack.kext (Backup kexts).
Use Kextwizard to install kexts from Post-install folder to K55VD/SLE folder (backup again).
Repair boot caches and permissions of Extras + S/L/E.

Replace K55VD/Extra/Chameleonboot.plist with the one from Post-install folder.
Reinstall Chameleon-2.2svn-r2134 on your system disk (Needed because Myhack install an obsolete Chameleon version), and update Chameleon as soon you are connected to internet (optional ,but better).

    Restart normally.

    Install VoodooHDA, reboot.
    You done.

    Notes:

If you get some crashes with VoodHDA.kext ,try edit VoodooHDA.kext/Contents/info.plist with this string (or use your HDA Vendor/Device id if yours is different), and rebuild kernelcache.
    IOPCIPrimaryMatch
    0x80861e20

Modify your Serial number in Smbios.plist from extras folder with Chameleon Wizard.

You can do most of software updates normally, but if you get a kernel panic at reboot, you will need to restart in safe mode,
reinstall modified kexts and remove Gforce kexts in S/L/E again.

For FNKeys and HDMI Audio to fully work you will need to tweak your DSDT, check other guides for this.

    UPDATE JULY 2013:

    New features:

    With DSDT:

    Power: NVIDIA GForce now disabled.

All FN keys now working with new kext.

Audio: No more Voodoo HDA, now instead features a patched HDA kext.

    Without DSDT:

Trackpad: Gestures now enabled and better sensitivity with new kexts.

iMessage, FaceTime, Appstore now enabled with Chameleon module.

USB3 now fully working and compatible with USB2 and USB1.

    Installation:

Plz install dsdt and new related files after post-install is done (you will crash if you try to use dsdt in pre-install phase).

Update Chameleon boot loader to latest version if needed, else modules may not work (use Kext Wizard).

In Extra folder, add dsdt file and modules and update Org.chameleon.Boot.plist with link to dsdt file in Chameleon Wizard or manually.

In System/Extensions remove VoodooHDA.kext (if you decide to use patched AppleHDA.kext) and PS2 related kexts (AppleACPIPS2Nub.kext and ApplePS2Controller.kext).

In System/Extensions install new kexts with kext utility (select backup replaced files).

Rebuild System cache, repair System/Extensions permissions.

    Reboot

VERY IMPORTANT: In bios switch both USB settings to enabled, else you will crash with the new USB3 kext.

    Restart!

  5. XPC Bootloader 0.90.41 USB Image - READY2RUN

I thought it would be very handy to create and pack an already running
    XPC Bootloader USB Image
ready for installing & running your Kitty.

There are just a few things you should learn about XPC, find everything necessary at insanelymac for modifying XPC settings fitting your needs:
    http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/287471-xpc-releases-and-instructions/#entry1901657

This bootloader is great! It can even mount DMG files for boot

All credits go to iPhoneTom @ http://xpcboot.weebly.com/

For getting this BL on your USB Stick you need a Stick with at least 512MB and USBit from alexpage: http://www.alexpage.de/usb-image-tool/download/

Installing the packed USB Image to your stick is easy. On USBit click restore and select the native XPC-Bootstick512.img.gz, have a look at the filetypes, you'll find out USBit can restore compressed images

The most important things to know is adjusting the settings.plist in folder \efi\xpc.
    Here you should store your DSDT.aml ... SSDT.aml goes to \efi\xpc\acpi ...

XPC is a very interesting piece of applepie - have fun.

    Drivers already included:

    AHCI.efi
    AppleBootBeep.efi
    AppleHID.efi
    AppleNET.efi
    FirewireDevice.efi
    FirewireOHCI.efi
    Serial-ATA.efi
    SNP.efi
    USBBotMassStorage.efi
    USBCbioMassStorage.efi
    HFSPlus-64.efi
    NTFS-64.efi
    VBoxExt2-64.efi

PS: have a look at the folder \efi\xpc\extra_kext\10.X

    it holds:

    FakeSMC.kext
    AHCIPortInjector.kext
    AppleACPIPS2Nub.kext
    AppleIntelPIIXATA.kext
    ApplePS2Controller.kext
    ApplePS2Keyboard.kext
    ApplePS2Mouse.kext
    IOAHCIBlockStorageInjector.kext
    IOATABlockStorage.kext
    IOATAFamily.kext
    IOATAPIProtocolTransport.kext
    JMicron36xeSATA.kext
    JMicron36xSATA.kext
    JMicronATA.kext
    OpenHaltRestart.kext

Make use of the 'H' (help) key.

    To skip the kernelcache edit
    settings.plist
    ForceLoadKernelcache 0

Pressing F1 it's possible to load kernelcache anyway.

dsdt.aml only fix some warnings and add the HDEF and DTGP code for ALC887.

you need to install the AppleHDA.kext to make ALC887 work.

using GraphicEnabler= yes in the *boot.plist to make the vedio card function

after installing ALXEthernet.kext ur Ethernet will be ok.

    that all works for 10.8.2

  11. Acer Aspire V3-571G

So I just bought an Acer Aspire V3-571G and the first thing I planned on doing? Installing Mountain Lion (using paid for retail) obviously.

So yes, I have mostly everything up and running so far on this machine and I just want to share the files and kexts I have used & made to make this Acer usable on a daily basis.

The download is just a Zip archive full of goodies, enjoy!

    MD5 = 15ee2ae3a2b00316b79d5bf3270594aa

If you need any help please give me an email, or private message.

[Please note that I am using "Legacy Bios" instead of "UEFI" - I have Windows 8 Pro installed on the same machine and I don't really notice the difference in terms of speed.]

  12. ASUS N55SL Notebook - Mountain Lion Hackintosh

    Updated files on: http://forum.osxlatitude.com/index.php?/topic/2179-asus-n55sl-no-wi-fi/l !!

ok people so.. this is my first ever hackintosh , and as a life time windows user it took me about a month to understand the main defferences between the tow OS's , osx86 basics , and then to get my machine hackintoshed !! .
anyway i've to say that i didn't do much than a simple and quick googling that leaded me to this site , and after more than 100 tries , i was able to get my machine to work "partly" until by coincidence i found this post by qwerty12
    http://www.osx86.net/notebooks/20369-asus-n55sl.html#post136778
posting a link to his repository , and it was like a hidden treasure to me , and now i can say it's "fully" works as it should .
but for unkown reason , he decided to remove his repository
the good news is that i've been lucky to download the whole repository with latest changes maded by him before his strange decision .
since I got no way to contact with him to ask him for permission , i decided to reupload it again here so everybody else can reach it , and i hope he dosen't mind .
you can also find his will documented step-by-step guide for installation .
*NOTE: i beleve that this model shiped with defrent combination of hardwere parts (cpu , screen resolution , wifi cards ..) , so you'll have to chose what fits your hardwere , mainly you'll have to pick between (ssdt.aml file for your right cpu , dsdt.aml file that makes your screen function ok , the right kext for your wifi card)
    ---------------------------------------------
    What Works :
    1- Turbo Boost using AppleIntelCPUPowerManagement
    2- Intel HD 3000: [Quartz/CI]
Native 1366x768 resolution on the laptop's display panel [use no HD DSDT]
Native 1600x900 resolution on the laptop's display panel [use original DSDT by qwerty12]

    3- Sound with VoodooHDA
    4- Microphone
5- Touchpad - scrolling in both horizontal and vertical directions
    6- Battery meter
7- Play/Pause, Stop, Volume Up, Volume Down and Mute keys
8- Non-native brightness control with the keyboard
9- Power Button brings up shutdown dialog
    10-Shutdown and restart
    11-Ethernet
    12-WIFI [Atheros AR9002WB-1NG]
13-The USB 2 ports on the right of the laptop
14-The USB 3 ports on the left of the laptop
    15-SD card reader
    16-Sleep
17-Webcam - works in Apple apps if you launch the Apple app, like Photo Booth, and then run netkas'CameraControl App

    What doesn't:
    1-Nvidia geforce gt 635M
2-Bluetooth [only works when i boot ubuntu before] just like LuCKy69 has mentioned here http://www.osx86.net/view/2113-aus_k43sj-vx057.html i trided so many kexts but with no luck , so if you have solved this problem please let me know .

    What's not been tested:
The VGA nor the HDMI ports as I have no need for them
    ---------------------------------------------

**before you start i recommend you to patch your BIOS using moded BIOS supplied by qwerty12 and i can confirm it's a 100% SAFE & FUNCTIONAL (at least for me) BUT as qwerty12 saied " I cannot take responsibility for any damages or impairments that may occur while using or flashing the modified BIOS. If you don't want to flash it, that's fine, but you will need to remember to patch AppleIntelCPUPowerManagement when you upgrade/when it's needed.**

after you finsh patching your bios , basiclly what you need to do is :
1- preapare your thumb drive with U{censored} . (ML 10.8)
2- start osx installation with '-x' parameter
3- after installation finishes .. start your os for the first time with '-x' parameter again .
4- copy "and replace" kexts to /system/library/extintion
5- open kext utility app and wait until it repairs permission
6- install HWMonitor with FackeSMC .
    7- install Chameleon bootloader .
8- copy Extra folder to the root of your /
    9- Enjoy !
    --------------------------------
if that wasn't enugh for you , you can find the very detailed guide by qwerty12 included with this package.
please note that some lines of this quick tutorial been taken word by word from qwerty12 guide wich you can find inside this package .
all credits , thanks and appreciation goes to qwerty12 in the first place and the people he mentioned in his guide .
    +------------------------+
PS: sorry if there were any spelling/grammar mistakes , i'm from Saudi Arabia .

    UPDATE #1
as i noticed the increasing number of people trying to download this OUTDATED package day after a day even after the moderators has deleted it and pointed people to the new UPDATED thread whom qwery12 has mention in the posts below, i decided to reupload it again for this reasons :
    - some people don't have account at osxlatitude.com, and don't want to, therefore thy cant download the package .
    - some don't want the hassle of reading a very long tutorial and only intrest in the minimum files that induct them to a working machine.
    - there is some changes between this package and qwerty12 updated package, and i've tried his new kexts, and some of them didn't give me the pirfict result as these old ones.
    - qwerty12 new package does not contain the DSDT file that i moded out of the one provided by him to make it work with screens with native resolution smaller than 1600x900.

and if that was against the rules in any way, feel free to delete it again.

  14. Asus N55SF Mountain Lion

This is my first experience with an Hackintosh. I've working hard and now i'm really glad to share with you my experience. Sorry for my bad english, i'm italian. Greeting from Verona!.

    Mount the attacched dmg:
    Kext goes in S/L/E
    Extra in /...

So this is what is working:
    i7 2630qm with turbo boost (multiplier goes from 8x to 26x )
HD3000, full HD resolution with duallink patch. QE/CI support with vanilla kext (device id 0116 8086, not 0126)
Realtek ALC663 with voodooHDA, patched for 1c20 8086 (intel audio controller) and 10de 0bee (ALC663)
    USB 3.0 ASM1042 (1b21 1042)
Wifi and Bluetooth Atheros AR5B195 AR3011 with Airport and Airdrop support
Synaptics trackpad with two finger scrolling
FN Keys, with volume+/volume-/mute/play/pause keys (device PNP0C14)
Sleep state, wakeup with all device working
    Battery management
    Sd card reader

    Not working/issue:
Backlight is set at 100% after wakeup. Pressing FN+F2 will set backlight at the same state before sleep.
Webcam is not working with native application (photo boot, FaceTime). If you want to make it working you need to open FaceTime then open a webpage and allow Flash Player to access your webcam and microphone (for example, taking a picture from facebook page or testing your webcam at http://testwebcam.com) then the webcam video stream will show up.
Booting on verbose mode "SNB Framebuffer did not show up, unload" appear, it does this twice, and takes 30-45 seconds each. Without -v flag, system take the same time to bootup, even with kernelcache set on boot.plist.

    Unknow working device:
HDMI and VGA out, not tested
    multitouch gesture with synaptics trackpad

If you have any solution for the issues described above, or if you have any problem about my configuration, please write here. Bye!

    Hi !

I have unlocked the latest LaCie Ver. 1.0.11 PXHCD.kext. This one is a considerable improvement over the previous Ver. 1.0.10 PXHCD.kext. It is stable on my system and keeps sleep intact.

The discovery routines have been changed by LaCie, these new routines generate a lot of noise
when booting with the -v flag however discovery of my Renesas onboard USB3 controller is
    always successful.

You can have this new kext however I don't know how to attach it to this message.

    Hello everybody,

these are my Kexts to run Mac OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion on a Dell Precision M4400 with Nvidia Quadro FX 770M.

    What works:

    - Nvidia Card
    - Sound & Mic
    - Trackpad & Keyboard
    - Ethernet, Bluetooth & Wlan
    - Firewire
    - SDHC

    Not working:

    - Sleep
    - Shutdown

    Not tested:

    Webcam, Smartcard Reader

    Instructions:

    - Install the Kexts from the "SLE" Folder into System/Library/Extensions with Kext Wizard
    - Move The "Extra" to /(ML Volume)
    - Run the myHack Application -> "Run myFix" -> "/(ML Volume)" -> "Full" and wait a couple of Minutes.
    - Boot with ML

    Enjoy :-)

  22. Asus a43sj 10.8 kexts pack

So.. this is working kexts file for Asus A43SJ on Mountain Lion.
i get the kexts mostly from OSX86.net and for the touchpad driver on {censored}.com. .Ijust pack it together for this particular laptop. DSDT patched by me.
    spec:

    Asus A43SJ
    Core i3 2330M 2.2GHz
    Nvidia GeForce GT520M 1GB
    Wifi & Bluetooth : AR9002WB / AR9285
    Realtek Ethernet
    2GB RAM
    500GB HDD
    Elantech Touchpad

-Installation using Latest Myhack (use generic option).
-boot system with -v -x (for the first time only)
-use kext utility to install kexts.
-put dsdt.aml in root directory "/"
-edit NVDAGF100hal.kext to work properly in /S/L/E ( otherwise you'll get stuck at boot). you just need to add this line in info.plist of NVDAGF100hal.kext. under IOPCIPrimaryMatch :

    0x105010de&0xffe0ffff

    -repair permission
    -reboot
-to avoid random KP. boot with UseKernelCache=No

    Enjoy

Thanks @harimurtie for sound and mic !
