  3. 10.6.4_USB

    From Nawcom:

    Looks like in this case you need to use the 10.6.4 USB kexts, until Apple releases the xnu source for 10.6.5.

    These are premodded, so you can install them into /Extra/Extensions and they will override the vanilla 10.6.5 USB kexts. It makes life easier, and when the 10.6.5 legacy kernel is finished all you have to do is delete them from /Extra/Extensions, instead of having to go through all this replacement bullshit in /System/Library/Extensions. Enjoy, and try and remember to install before installing the 10.6.5 update.

    AppleACPIBatteryManager.kext
    AppleACPIPlatform.kext

    let me know if it works on not. But, remember to remove (or,backup the original kext) before using this kext otherwise it might not work. I removed the original kext from S/L/E and put the kext in Extra/Extension.

  13. Acer CrystalEye kext and application

    This package contains a modified kext by Netkas (originally made by AnV), which supports the Acer CrystalEye webcam (Product ID: 0xa101, Vendor ID: 0?064e, Suyin Corporation). It should work on Lion. If you tried it on Leopard or Snow Leopard, please tell us whether it is working or not. This webcam supports a resolution of 320x240. OS X will detect it as an iSight camera with a resolution of at least 640x480, but this is purely cosmetical. The camera will still record at 320x240.

    Instructions:

    -Install the kext and CameraControl
    -Launch the application which uses the webcam
    -When it is trying to get access to your webcam, immediately start CameraControl
    -Once you're done, close the application, and then close CameraControl.

  17. ALPS trackpad for Lion

    Screenshot: http://cl.ly/2C0u2O2D0J1Y42083o0G

    Instruction:
    1, First backup & remove your trackpad kexts and /S/L/P/trackpad.prefPane.
    2, Extract the ALPS zip file and use Kext wizard to install. Use the attachment trackpad.prefPane to replace the /S/L/P/trackpad.prefPane.

    Troubles:
    I am in the 32bit Lion, and the Trackpad.prefPane is running in the 64bit, so when you open it to set, it will launch twice. But it is only one i find from http://www.kexts.com/downloads.php?do=file&id=1448 for Lion and works well by far.

  23. Kexts and Boot for MLion (GA-G31M-ES2L rev1.x)

    Inside this zip file are kexts used to get the GA-G31M-ES2L rev1.x working with OS X Mountain Lion 10.8 GM and the boot files ("Extra" folder) used with chameleon (DSDT + SMBIOS + org.chameleon.Boot.plist).

    GA-G31M-ES2L rev1.x ---> (NOT: S2L (without E), ES2C or rev 2.x of ES2L)

    * Sound: Realtek ALC883

    ---------------------------------
    HOW TO INSTALL (Click Here)
    ---------------------------------

    ---------------------------------
    10.8.2 Update needs an extra kext:
    After the update my system crashed at boot. If it's your case, boot using the arguments -v -x (safe mode) and install the AppleACPIPlatform.kext rollback found here.
    Direct Link
    ---------------------------------

    Kexts included:
    * FakeSMC.kext (v2.7)
    * NullCPUPowerManagement.kext
    * AppleHDA.kext
    * LegacyALC883.kext
    * LegacyAppleHDAHardwareConfigDriver.kext
    * LegacyHDAPlatformDriver.kext
    * RealtekRTL81xx.kext - Lnx2mac

    Updates:
    - Kexts_and_Extra_for_MLion_updated.zip -> deleted "boot" file (use chameleon installer) and added FakeSMC 4.2
    - Kexts_and_Extra_for_MLion_Update2.zip -> **Created a new Folder "/Extra/Acpi" with DSDT.aml inside for new releases of Chameleon;

    ** Since I updated to Chameleon r2050, the DSDT tables stopped loading from /Extra/DSDT.aml, then searching on web I found that it must be inside /Extra/Acpi/.

    These are all files that I used to get it working w/ MLion 10.8 except for sleep and onboard graphics (not tested).

    My Install Specifications:

    Those who just need SleepEnabler for 10.6.7, here you go ? it has been tested on i386 and x86_64 architectures and works without any special boot flags.

    This has been updated to work with the Darwin 10.7.1 kernel that Sandy Bridge people are using, as well as the Darwin 10.7.0 kernel which OS X 10.6.7 uses by default.

    This is mostly written as a reference for myself, because I have a horrible memory, but I hope that this can help out all other HP Pavilion dv6700 owners!

    Find a guide on how to install Snow Leopard with iB{censored}. Well documented installation tutorials can be found in the osx86project.org wiki (http://wiki.osx86project.org/wiki/index.php/Installation_Guides). I recommend using bigfloppydonkeydisk's excellent triple-boot guide (http://bigfloppydonkeydisk.blogspot.com/2010/07/triple-boot-windows-7-mac-os-x-snow.html).

    At step 18 of "Phase Two: Installing Snow Leopard", installation of MB{censored}, it's crucial to go through these steps:

    1) Backup and delete System/Library/Extentions/AppleHDA.kext

    2) Install MB{censored} with ONLY these options selected: Rebuild Caches + Rebuild Permissions + VoodooHDA 0.2.2 + fakesmc + EvOreBoot + LegacyAppleRTC + NullCPUPowerManagement + Voodoo PS/2 Controller

    3) Don't forget to turn off sleep: System Preferences > Energy Saver > Turn off Computer Sleep for both Power Adapter and Battery

    4) Drag all 3 .kext files contained in the zip onto Kext Helper b7 > enter your password > easy install > reboot (it will tell you to Force Quit Kext Helper 0.7)

    Hardware specs of HP Pavilion dv6700 Notebook (on which this was tested, in 32-bit mode):

    CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo T5850

    Chipset: Intel PM965 + ICH8M

    Graphics: nVidia GeForce 8400M GS, 256 MB

    Sound: Intel 82801HB ICH8

    Network: Realtek RTL8101E

    Known issues:

    Wireless: won't work. If you need wireless buy a cheap wifi card of which you're sure that it is supported.

    5-in-1 card reader: not tested, but I imagine it doesn't work as even the Windows 7 drivers are nonexistent.

    Webcam: not tested.
