For hybride (nVidia Optimus) laptops there is no solution available for the mac.

It needs one special dedicated driver because both GPU's share memory window and framebuffer. Never gonna work with two seperate drivers.

Now, I hope this clears out a lot of confusion.

There are however a few notebooks (if you're lucky) that let you choose (switch) defaut rendering GPU at boot..

Otherwise you're stuck with HD3000..

@Rupke - I disagree with this phrase "Never gonna work with two seperate drivers."

Because I tested many versions of intel hd 3000 windows drivers and all of them works, the nvidia driver makes everything by itself.

For a better understanding see the linux guys at bumblebee project, they make the whole thing work.

@iddpioneer - I agree about Bumblebee for Linux. But still no working solution for OSX exists today.

Still Loading a seperate driver for nVidia is no solution.

how to edit memory size? On my GTX 650 with Lion 10.7.5 i see 0 Mb Vram

i wrote:

VRAM,totalsize

00000040

but Vram = 0 Mb
