About This File

VoodooHDA patched for AD1988B (tested on Asus P5E)

What works:

- Line-out (green rear)

- Line-out (black rear)

- Line-out (orange rear)

- Line-out (grey rear)

- Headphones (green front) auto-detect

- Line-in (blue rear)

- Microphone (pink rear)

- Microphone (pink front)

Doesn't work:

- Microphone auto-detect (have to select in preferences)

Not tested:

- SPDIF-out (rear)

If you have KP remove AppleHDA and set PCI ID in plist if you have HDMI audio on video board.

See http://olarila.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=18&t=454

For multichannel create an aggregate device in Applications - Utilities - Audio MIDI Setup

If your mobo has SPDIF-in you may need to change default association for one of the SPDIF. Discussion here

Hello. Thanks for patching the hda. But it's still not 5.1 (only stereo in midi/audio utility). Also the very old problem that you cannot move the volume slider or mute with digital out it's still here. Do you guys have better luck?

Method is: VoodooHDA.kext in Extra/Extensions.mkext

Old, funcionou na P5E3, mas est? rachando os falantes, mesmo com volumes baixo, com o seu path e o HDEF no dsdt, fica 100%, Andr?.

ok, tried from S/L/E and it gives me a KP in voodoohda.kext.

system is totally vanilla, except fakesmc.kext in S/L/E and ps2 kexts because of ps2 old m$ keyboard.

Both in Snow leo 10.6.5 and Lion 10.7

mobo is P5K Premium with AD1988b

Do you get 5.1 option in audio/midi setup??

it gives me only 2 speakers

If you're trying to get SPDIF working on an older p5x board try using the VoodooHDA 0.2.1 kext. I'm running 10.6.8 on my p5w64 WS, and SPDIF and 5 channel audio is working. I only have 2 channel audio for SPDIF, but that's all I need. I hope this helps. Nothing else worked.
