This BootCD can start Lion Installer from bootable mediums. (DVD / USB-Harddisk / USB-Stick / SD-Card)

You can also use it as an RecoveryCD to boot your installed Lion. :o

1.Install SL on GPT-formated HFS+ Partition.

(If you have a bootable Lion-Installation, you can skip this part and go forward to part 2.)

(The internal Harddisk must be GUID/GPT formated for 10.7.2 Combo-Update to work properly. If not instant Reboot after loading OS.)

-Use iB{censored}/iB{censored} Legacy to install SL. (GraphicsEnabler=No -v -x)

-Use iB{censored}/iB{censored} Legacy to boot SL. (GraphicsEnabler=No -v)

-Update to 10.6.7/10.6.8.

-Buy OS X Lion in AppStore and prepare Lion Installation. (xMove or manually, see "Creating bootable Lion Installation".)

2.Install/Update to Lion on GPT-formated HFS+ Partition.

-Use N5110-7275 BootCD to install Lion to Bootdrive.

-Update to 10.7.2, DON'T RESTART

-Copy Extra Files to /Bootdrive/Extra/

-Copy S/L/E Files to Desktop and use KB{censored} to install.

-Delete AppleHDA.kext in /Bootdrive/System/Library/Extensions.

-Delete AudioAUUC.kext in /Bootdrive/System/Library/Extensions.

-Use DiskUtility to repair permissions on Bootdrive.

-Install Chameleon Bootloader to Bootdrive.

(This makes GPT-Partition Bootable for N5110.)

-Use Chameleon Wizard - SMBIOS Editor to generate a unique Serial Number for your MacBookPro8,2.

(This fixes the Login Error /w iCloud. Maximum Users for this Apple-ID reached. If it is not working, try generating a new one.)

-Install Chimera v1.5.4 Bootloader to Bootdrive.

(Chameleon Bootloader won't boot. VoodooHDA KP, w/o VoodooHDA it boots but the iCloud-fix won't work. So we use Chimera.)

Creating a Bootable Install Disc/USB Partition for Mac OS X Lion

1. Find the Mac OS X Installation file in Applications Folder. Right-click on it and choose ?Show Package Contents?.

You are looking for ?SharedSupport? folder, inside you will find a disc image called ?InstallESD.dmg?

2. Copy ?InstallESD.dmg? to your Mac OS X Desktop or somewhere where you want it to be for the moment.

3. Open "InstallESD.dmg" and mount "BaseSystem.dmg"

4. Open DiskUtility and partition your USB Device/Harddisk.

5. In DiskUtility choose your new partition (USB or internal Harddisk) and click the restore tab.

6. Drag the Mac OS Base System image in the source and your new partition (USB or internal Harddisk) in destination and click restore.

7. Your partition will be renamed to Mac OS Base System.

Go to System/Installation and delete packages alias.

8. From mounted BaseSystem.dmg copy Packages folder back to Mac OS Base System on your new partition (USB or internal Harddisk).

9. You also need to copy this files to your new partition root folder, just drop it on USB Stick/Harddisk partition icon:

you will have to use ShowHideFiles.app or Terminal to see hidden files on your drives, just type this:

?defaults write com.apple.finder AppleShowAllFiles -bool true?

> disk_label boot.efi

> kernelcache

> mach_kernel

> MacOSX_Media_Background.png.

10. Use Disk Utility to make a DiskImage from your new partition and burn it on DVD-DL.

Or use the USB Device (Stick / external Harddisk) to install.

11. Start your N5110-7275 /w the Lion BootCD, select the external USB partition "Mac OS Base System"

or change to Install DVD and press F5 to refresh (perhaps sometimes press it twice).

*******************************RECOVERY HD

-Open Terminal and Log on as Root User. (Will only work if you have set a password for your User!)

sudo -i

- Check your Partitiontable

diskutil list

- Get Info about your Bootdrive. (Lion Installation, mostly first Partition disk0s2)

diskutil info /dev/diskXsY

- Calculate Recovery HD Partition start point.

(TOTAL SIZE IN BYTES of Lion-Partition - 700 * 1024 * 1024 = Start-Point.)

- Injecting Partition at start point. (Insert your calculation in XXXXXXXXXX, diskXsY is your Lion-Partition.)

diskutil resizeVolume /dev/diskXsY XXXXXXXXXB jhfs+ "Recovery HD" 650002432B

- Resize Recovery HD Partition.

(diskXsY will be the next after Lion-Partition, so if Lion-Partition is disk0s2, Recovery HD will be disk0s3.)

diskutil resizeVolume diskXsY 650002432B

- Create Folder in Recovery HD Partition

mkdir /Volumes/Recovery\ HD/com.apple.recovery.boot

- Mount InstallESD.dmg of Mac OS X Lion Installation.app. (You can do it also manually in Finder if the App is in an other Place.)

hdiutil attach /Applications/Mac\ OS\ X\ Lion\ Installation.app/Contents/SharedSupport/InstallESD.dmg

- Copy a bunch of Files from InstallESD.dmg to Recovery HD Partition in Folder com.apple.recovery.boot.

(manually in Finder if you wish, but you must start ShowAllFiles.app before to see the hidden Files.)

cp /Volumes/Mac\ OS\ X\ Install\ ESD/BaseSystem.dmg /Volumes/Recovery\ HD/com.apple.recovery.boot/

cp /Volumes/Mac\ OS\ X\ Install\ ESD/.disk_label /Volumes/Recovery\ HD/com.apple.recovery.boot/

cp /Volumes/Mac\ OS\ X\ Install\ ESD/boot.efi /Volumes/Recovery\ HD/com.apple.recovery.boot/

cp /Volumes/Mac\ OS\ X\ Install\ ESD/kernelcache /Volumes/Recovery\ HD/com.apple.recovery.boot/

cp /Volumes/Mac\ OS\ X\ Install\ ESD/Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration/com.apple.Boot.plist /Volumes/Recovery\ HD/com.apple.recovery.boot/

cp /Volumes/Mac\ OS\ X\ Install\ ESD/System/Library/CoreServices/PlatformSupport.plist /Volumes/Recovery\ HD/com.apple.recovery.boot/

cp /Volumes/Mac\ OS\ X\ Install\ ESD/System/Library/CoreServices/SystemVersion.plist /Volumes/Recovery\ HD/com.apple.recovery.boot/

- Unmount Recovery HD Partition

umount -f /Volumes/Recovery\ HD/

- Make Recovery HD Partition bootable

asr adjust --target /dev/disk0s3 -settype "Apple_Boot"

Thanks!! I have the identical (well, almost identical, I assume) machine and have been driving myself nuts trying to get it to work. I was about to give up until N{censored} put out a dvd from Mac OS X Lion (Hackintosh) on facebook. I also have a 14" Dell i3-350 -- which was easy compared to this -- that is nearly perfect except for the video card (intel HD graphics), screen brightness control, and sleep. Any thoughts? Either way, thanks! I'll report back in 2 weeks (have to go out of town on business tomorrow) on it.

oookotooo, this pack is for the 15r n5110 with intel hd 3000 / ati radeon 6470 gfx combination!

the i7 with intel hd 3000 / gt 525m combination has a different audio hda chip (ALC269), ad different

bios etc. try dsdt auto patcher or dsdt patcher gui and check your hardware device ids.

Hi Svet, if the boot cd won't be recognize at laptop boot, try another cd-r or lower burn-speed.

i use verbatim 700mb cd-r. if i burn it with 24x sometimes the cd-r won't be recognize too.

restart and try again or burn at 4x or 8x speed.

you can also use {censored}'s rboot. its the same but without specific kexts.

both are based on cdboot from chimera.

last method. use usb-stick to boot. get another hack or mac. format usb-stick gpt, hfs+ and install

chimera 1.5.4 on it. copy over extra-folder an boot your n5110 with it. :)

HELP PLEASE! I Have the Dell 15r-n 5110. I have been struggling for Days to get this to work. I Have the boot disk, it comes up and sees my USB drive Created according to the directions. (although, slightly confused on step 6. am I copying the alias back or something else. This maybe my issue)

It goes to an apple symbol with a circle around it. It spins for a few minutes and then the machine shuts down.

I am totally lost. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!!!
