About This File

Antipop Antiplop

Antipop stops MacBooks, MacBook Pros, and PowerBooks from "popping" your speakers when powering their sound hardware on and off.

Antipop prevents Mac OS X from putting the sound hardware to sleep, thus preventing the annoying "popping" sound at start (delay) and after about 30 seconds of not using the sound.

Cool idea, but is it necessary? Is the pop really that annoying to some? And could it be detrimental to native power management?

BTW, the 'pops'?only occur when audio out is through an analogue output, not digital or internal speakers.

What about Hackintoshes?

For the GA-Z77X-UD5H it is better to use SMBios from MacPro3,1.

MacPro3,1 does not have sleep on sound. I think you are using SMBios from iMac or MacBook or Mac Mini because they have sleep on sound.

Try it :)
