Hi this looks very interesting, however when I have mounted the "Mac OS X Install ESD icon on my desktop and drag and drop it to X-Flash icon I get an error

Error!

Target is not empty

I have tried a number of times and cannot get passed the error.

Would appreciate more help please even though your "Read Me" is very clear.

best regards/Tony.

Works perfectly, on first try.

What I did :

-Prepare a destination partition on my internal drive for Lion OS

-Mount Lion install DMG + mount "BaseSystem.dmg", which you can find inside Lion install DMG

-Mount & format my install USB drive

-Left click+ "get info" on my usb Drive, then uncheck "Ignore ownership on this volume" at the bottom of the window

-Launch X-Flash

-Drag&Drop USB install flash drive icon into x-flash window when it is opened.

-Let it do its work

-Copy/paste dsdt.aml, check boot.plist, and check that all kexts in x-flash had been properly copied in Extra on USB drive.

Reboot, boot on usb install drive volume, install & enjoy.

Once again, worked perfect on first try

Mobo : P5B-plus (P965), C2duo E6550, HD4870 (worked out of the box with GraphicsEnabler in boot.plist)

Mhh - I would not consider myself a complete noob, but what ever I cannot get this to work despite the helpful suggestions by macky_reddy and EmphasiS.

Could it be the Sony 8GB memory stick I am using, and what do you do with the mounted - Mount Lion install DMG + mount "BaseSystem.dmg", which you can find inside Lion install DMG - as once mounted the mounted folder sits on my desktop - is this copied anywhere else?

Sorry if i am being dim...

Information:

You must manually mount InstallESD.dmg

[File Path]

"/Applications/Install Mac OS X Lion.app/Contents/SharedSupport/InstallESD.dmg"

this is case of download from App Store

X-Flash.app is checking for ".DS_store" existence

Do not open initialized target volume

This is accident prevention functions

Thanks to all for the help provided here. I was trying to load X-Flash from within Lion (10.7). I loaded a version of 10.6.8 and tried it there and it works without problem.

Using the default settings just adding a couple of kexts to the E/E folder it worked first time. I was then able to install a clean version of line on a new disk.

This is a great tool and i thank you for helping.

InstallESD1.7.2,dell 1420 cpu:T2330,GMA965/x3100

Hi,I did the x flash as the guide pdf file in the zip

After I droped the USB flash disk to the x flah.app, when it done,I installed the chameleon.pkg, and installed the 4 pkgs too,all chose lion,smbios=3.1

And replaced the osinstall file as the 10.7.2 one.

All done, chose boot from the USB with -v -f,and I managed to install the lion.

Guess what? I hung at the installing process, indicated installing mac os x lion, but nothing proceeded.

the mouse and keyboard did not work to.Any ideas about that?
