This gives my Dell Inspiron 1720 a kp in 10.6.8. Too bad, I really could use a solution for this glitch.

I tried the kext... it solves issues on "restart" but still have problem with "shut down" ... after "shut down" everything fails.. because CMOS fails.. CMOS locks itself... i dont understand why.. how can i solve this problem?

Excellent.

I have HP dv6 i5 laptop. I can confirm this works on bios modified hp dv6 with mountain lion (pre release). It was the bios modification that introduced the cmos problem in the first place (as I need the wifi card whitelist removing). But the bottom line is it's all working perfectly now.

So .... good for 10.8.x
