updated Trackpad+Keyboard PS2 32/64 1.0

1 Screenshot

About This File

put both kexts in /S/L/E - remove any PS2 kexts you used before and do not mix with voodoops2.

Trackpad works as mouse, no fancy extras. 32 + 64bit, SL and Lion GM tested, works reliable.

UPDATE, a BETTER one - load only this (TRACKPAD.SYNAPTIC-GESTURE.zipe pack) from now on : have new stuff for us Laptop fans added : now trackpad with a working prefpane to enable click to tap and scroll

Screenshot of prefpane see here please : http://i53.tinypic.com/p2i49.png

instructions : remove old PS2controller.kext and AppleAcpiPS2nub.kext, replace with the same named kexts from new packages.

put the trackpad.prefpane in /LIBRARY/PREFPANES . Don't touch/remove the OSX built in trackpad prefpane ( which is in /System/Library/prefpanes) repair permissions with diskutility , reboot. Afterwards you can manage your trackpad via Systemsettings -> trackpad. tons of options to choose from, makes the trackpad fully work ( synaptics for me , 1finger scroll,2finger scroll, horizontal, vertical, tap to click ).

32 + 64bits, Snow and Lion GM tested and confirmed

I have a Lenovo G570, installed the newest package, trackpad is shown in settings, but all the options doesn't work for me. Trackpad works as normal, as it works before ( normal mouse + tab to click ), but no scrolling with 2 fingers, scrolling in the edge etc.

is there any workaround or is the touchpad not supported?

Simply fantastic! Thanks a lot for a brilliant fix to my problems. Trackpad & keyboard now works 100% on my Asus 5742G Laptop. Trackpad even with 2 fingers, tap, double tap! Love it!

Again, thanks! Awesome!

I have an Acer 5740g and I can't get this working. Only two finger scrolling up and down has been working since I've installed Lion, no other gestures, no tap clicking.

I don't understand, there is no folder /LIBRARY/PREFPANES, there IS however /LIBRARY/PREFERENCEPANES, so I deleted the Trackpad.prefPane in there and replaced it with the one I downloaded. I also created /LIBRARY/PREFPANES folder with the file inside just in case.

I don't understand what the point of putting in that location was if OSX is still reading the original one from /SYSTEM/LIBRARY/PREFPANES. I'm tempted to replace the one in there, but the guide says not to.

I've deleted anything that has "PS2" in it, and of course replaced the two texts included in the download.

Actually, nevermind, it looks like I've had it this entire time! LOL. I just never checked the "clicking" box which enables tap to click.

Isn't there an option for more gestures though.. such as navigating pages, 3 finger swipe for mission control, and a few more?

Can someone please help me? I could manage to get my trackpad to have scroll enabled, but only when i install these kext. Every time i shutdown it doesn't work anymore and in system preferences pane i get the message saying "no trackpad found"

I am currently on 10.7.2 on 32bit mode. Is there any info.plist file i can change for my settings to remain after i Shutdown my computer?

Many thanks! I'm going crazy over here!!

"could not load Trackpad preference pane". 10.7.2 install. Tried putting the pane everywhere and tried running it on its own, always same error. Can anyone confirm that this works on a 10.7.2 install (not upgrade) with 64 bit mode?

@Jim989, You should only put the trackpad.prefpane in /LIBRARY/PREFPANES. Do not mess with the one from lion install. Leave it as it is

There is no "Library/PREFPANES" in 10.7.2 install.

I created that folder and put the "Trackpad.prefPane" into it, repaired permissions. No change.

I put the "Trackpad.prefPane" into "Library/PreferencePabes", repaired permissions. No change.

What I get is the "Wait for a Bluetooth trackpad to be discovered." preference pane.

Maybe the Bluetooth is stopping it from working?

Worked perfectly! I wish my trackpad had these multitouch functions on Windows 7. Wonder why it works on Snow leopard, but not Windows 7 even with the driver installed.
