Sorry for not clarifying, installer simply install those to default locations in OSX, so that means package has an AppleHDA Disabler and you don't need to install additionally over the package.

still doesn't seem to work for the intel sound card on my tyan motherboard. just gives me a volume control without anything registered in the System Information app. Shame I can't get this working, cuz QE and everything else on the Tyan S2696 works perfect using iAtkos Lion

Hi j4jes,In most cases should auto match but did you try following ?- Navigate into VoodoHDA.kext then right click and show content- Double click on contents folder you will see there info.plist- Modify it as;IOPCIClassMatch0x04030000&0xffff0000Replace withIOPCIPrimaryMatch0xDeviceidVendorID

yup I did that, and no cigar. I'm going to update iAtkos to 10.7.5 tonight and try again with voodoohda and the pci id subst

ok it's working, I had the pci/vendor entry in backwards

IOPCIPrimaryMatch

0x8086269a

I played with the fixes to get the volume control to work, thats good. Now I can't get it to load the voodoohda kext during boot. If I do a -f it freezes, if i do -f -v it goes in but it's not loaded so i have to do a kextload -v VoodooHDA.kext every session.

Would you please use Clover and use kext utility for updating kextcache or generating mkext

okay my bad. i entered the device id incorrectly

IOPCIPrimaryMatch

0x8086269a

reversed that, and it's working now but I had to play with the fixes in the info.plist to get the audio levels working. The only problem now is I have to do a kextload -v VoodooHDA.kext every session to load it. I reboot with -f -v to clear the kextcache and it never loads the kext ??

Thanks!

With this kext the sound earned as it is necessary! Without clicks, without noise, without a crash!

After a few minutes of playback I get distortion. Tried with and without SSE2 and changing sample rate fixes it only for next few minutes. Any ideas?

Seems to install okay on Dell Optiplex 760 with Intel 82801JD/DO HD Audio Controller [8086:3a6e]

Audio Device shows up in System Information and Speaker Icon appears in bar but no sound output works from front or rear jacks.

I have also edited Info.plist with

IOPCIPrimaryMatch

0x3a6e8086

and re-run kext utility

Older 2.7.2 VoodooHDA provided sound but had kernel panic issue. New 2.8.2 seems not to kernel panic but I have no sound. Any thoughts?

@dison4linux try putting the DEVID back to 403 default.install it again maybe from the default.I had the same problem, I had no sound....actually i did have sound but extremely low volumed.try increasing the available options in the voodoo preferences pain and also change the sound output settings in the audio preferences pain in system preferences.Your system should start giving the sound you need after playing with these.Hope this helpseX

Wow, I can't believe this worked!!! I've been pulling my hair out trying to make my GA Z77-D3H rev 1.1 sound work for the past 3 weeks and nothing!! I have reinstalled my OS like 7 times stuffing up the kext with various patches!! I am praying that I won't have a kernel panic but here is my DSDT.aml patch in case anyone needs it with this voodoo patch
