The beta should be available sometime in the summer. From what I've heard there is some focus on cross platform development, with some existing iOS apps being ported over already, and iPad apps can be ported with a little work. Also it seems it will now be possible to use your iPad as an external display. Credit to @fantomas for being first off the mark here with the news. SC

Disable SIP before running the installer. Change Log: Added the Atheros Support for macOS Catalina. Added macOS detection for necessary file installation. Backing up the original IO80211Family.kext for macOS Catalina to desktop. Known issues: No 5GHz network detection. Rebuilding system caches with SIP enable ends up with errors. After each major macOS Catalina update you may need to run the installer.

dosdude1 Alright, so for those who were wondering, myself and @parrotgeek1 have been working on this acceleration issue on our own, and have come to the conclusion that it is not going to be possible to achieve graphics acceleration on non-Metal video cards in Catalina. This is for various reasons, but the main one is the SkyLight and CoreDisplay dependencies. In Catalina, SkyLight and CoreDisplay have been changed greatly, and are interdependent on each other. Meaning, if you replace one from an older version of macOS, you must replace the other, otherwise you'll be left with a ton of unresolved symbols. The problem with doing this, though, Catalina's AppKit relies on all the new functions present in the Catalina CoreDisplay framework. You cannot use a copy of AppKit from an older macOS version, without causing a ton more unresolved symbols.TLDR, based on this analysis, non-Metal GPU acceleration is not, and will not be possible on 10.15 Catalina. With that said, I will not be releasing the "usual" patcher for 10.15. I do not believe the general public should be using a copy of macOS without full graphics acceleration (I sure as heck know I wouldn't want to), and I'm not going to release a patch that results in extremely poor system performance for the end user (not to mention I would get thousands of complaints per day about it if I did).I will, however, more than likely make somewhat of a "cut down" patch, designed for use only on Mac Pro systems and some iMacs that have had their video cards upgraded.I'm as disappointed as you all are about this discovery, and deeply apologize I won't be able to provide a patcher because of it. bom, acredito que uma das grandes vertentes deu uma desanimada, André.

    Unprecedented Server Load

We are receiving an unexpectedly high volume of traffic at the moment, and this might be having a few side affects. I see from our logs that a few people are having problems subscribing/unsubscribing from the newsletter. Rest assured that those requests have been heard, and will be executed eventually, even if it means I have to do them one at a time from the logs (fml ) Thank you for your patience in the meantime, SC

You need a Mojave-compatible SMBIOS to download and run Mojave. Ideally, a Mojave compatible platform too and your E5420 is not. Best is to stick to Sierra or High Sierra 10.13.6.

Radeon (TM) 530 on dell 5570

Highly unlikely, especially if it's set up with AMD's Switchable Graphics implementation. If it's not chained to the iGPU and is standalone, there might be a chance via Lilu + WhateverGreen. Otherwise, for the sake of battery life amongst other things, you'd be better off disabling it.

I've got a core i7-7700k with Vega 64 Mojave machine I built inside of an old 1950's Philco radio. It's an awesome little compact hackintosh but I saved a buck by using my old Samsung Evo 840 256gb drive and its beginning to show it's age. HWMonitor shows it as 70% life remaining which is a little bit worrisome so having a 1tb SSD would rock.

    intelHD3000 Mojave 10.14.x

i know this is a very, very old thread... but I wanted to say that this kext worked for me to get an old SIL3512 v1.3 card working under 10.14 Mojave. My card is a v1.3, which has a device id of 0x65121095, but otherwise its the same card. I added 0x65121095 to the info.plist file, and rebooted... and now the attached drives are visible and working. the drives do not show any controller information under system profiler, but the drives themselves are showing. Intel DQ67OWb3 + i7-2600 + SIL3512 v1.3 PCI card working fine on 10.14.4.

If RockinU2 isn't satisfied with free stuff, and free guides, maybe he should buy a real Mac, then go to App Store and download for free High Sierra, or whatever OS he wants and then install that image to his future hackintosh. This is the first article I clicked on and one of the links to download was mega sync cloud based storage. The link provided opened up to inform me that Safari couldn't handle a download that large. They advertised 50gb free cloud storage so I gave my email address and signed up. The full file for High Sierra is 7+ gb and my download stopped at 5gb and wouldn't continue unless I subscribed to monthly fees. Placing a graphic on the page to represent the partial file that I needed. Not sure about this user and how well he knows what he links to. Wasted 1hr of my time with BS cloud storage ploy. NOT HAPPY seeing as this is the 1st article I read on your site. I am hoping for better experiences in the future.

We all know that UEFI Firmware sooner or later will permanently replace BIOS Firmware... The UEFI firmware has many advantages over the BIOS firmware, for those who want to know them, take a look here > http://www.uefi.org/faq Here > http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Unified_Extensible_Firmware_Interface And at this nice article > http://www.extremetech.com/computing/96985-demystifying-uefi-the-long-overdue-bios-replacement For those who already know UEFI, sometimes, as we're still under adaptation, we may find ourselves in some tricky situations that with the older BIOS firmware, we couldn't fix easily without a OS, but with UEFI firmware... Of course we can! With UEFI firmware, we can execute (U)EFI applications without the need of any preinstalled OS... Here are some examples that may surprise some users... Shell > https://edk2.svn.sourceforge.net/svnroot/edk2/trunk/edk2/EdkShellBinPkg/FullShell/X64/Shell_Full.efi Command Line Interface. Microsoft EFI Utilities > http://www.intel.com/technology/efi/agree_diskutil.htm Diskpart (Disk partitioning utility), Efifmt (EFI Format utility) and Efichk (EFI Check Disk utility). GPTSync > http://refit.sourceforge.net/doc/c2s3_shell.html Tool to synchronise legacy MBR partition table with the GPT partition table. Memtest > http://www.memtest86.com/index.html Tool to test Memory Modules and check System Information. There are also some alternative bootloaders like rEFInd and rEFIt that may be useful for "Advanced and Power Users"... rEFInd > http://www.rodsbooks.com/refind/ rEFIt > http://refit.sourceforge.net Nice! But... How this information will help me? Well, I'm sure that many people disagree, but, to have all tools (not bootloaders) listed above at your EFI partition, are needed around 5mb, and believe me, they may be a life saver... For example, with the (U)EFI Shell we can load (U)EFI Drivers and Applications to access filesystems and get some needed information that for any reason, you can't get from the OS... You will have access to all partitions, from Internal or External devices, that are recognised by the Shell... You can have "Read" access to the following filesystems using an appropriate (U)EFI Driver... AFFS>http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Amiga_Fast_File_System BFS>http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Be_File_System BtrFS>http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Btrfs ExFAT>http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Exfat EXT>http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Extended_file_system EXT2>http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Extended_file_system EXT3>http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Extended_file_system EXT4>http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Extended_file_system HFS>http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hierarchical_File_System HFS+>?http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HFS%2B ISO9660>?http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Iso9660 JFS>http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Journaling_file_system NilFS2>http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/NILFS NTFS>http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ntfs ReiserFS>http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Reiserfs SFS>http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Smart_File_System UDF>http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Universal_Disk_Format UFS2>http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/UFS2 XFS>http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Xfs ZFS>http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zfs You can get all available (U)EFI Drivers from here >?http://efi.akeo.ie/downloads/efifs-0.6.1/x64/ PS: Unfortunately, there are precompiled binaries only for 64bit firmwares... For those who want 32bit binaries, you can try to follow this guide... >?http://osxbook.com/book/bonus/chapter4/efiprogramming/ Some tweaking will be required though as this is a bit old article... Good news for those who need 32bit binaries! Andy Vandijck (AnV) Ported the EFIFS Drivers to use EDKII instead of GNU EFI, so now, you can take them from here (64bit binaries also available) > http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/300222-updated-efi-filesystem-drivers-efifs-ported-to-edk2/#entry2051091 Thank you AnV! To load a (U)EFI Driver, use the example below by changing fsX:\DRIVER_FOLDER with the right path to the driver and DRIVER.efi for the driver name... cd fsX:\DRIVER_FOLDERload DRIVER.efimap -r FAT16/32 Filesystems are the only filesystems with native "Read and Write" support under UEFI firmware... By having Read and Write access to FAT filesystems, you can easily manage bootloaders, that in our case, as we are Hackintoshers, this is really handy, for Clover and also Chameleon users... Obviously, the partition where the bootloader is installed must be FAT32 formatted (standard for ESP (EFI) partition) as we can copy/move/rename/delete/create?files and directories... We can also manage "Boot Entries" using bcfg from the (U)EFI Shell... For example, we have Memtest's binary at the EFI partition and we want to call it independent of the bootloader (Clover in this case, as it is the only true (U)EFI bootloader for Hackintoshes), we only have to run the following commands... First, to know an available entry... bcfg boot dump You will see an output similar to the below one... Following the example, we have three entries and we will add the fourth... Assuming that your ESP (EFI) partition is "fs0" (you have to find him), we will run the following command... bcfg boot add 3 fs0:\EFI\Memtest_X64.efi "Memtest" After run the command, if you run bcfg boot dump again, you will see your new entry added... After this, you can start Memtest during the machine's startup by pressing F8 key for example, and selecting the "Memtest" entry... To remove an "Boot Option", for example, rEFInd (still using the Image above as example), use the following command... bcfg boot rm 0 After run the command, if you run bcfg boot dump again, you will see that rEFInd isn't between you available Boot Options anymore... Here is a (U)EFI Shell Command Reference list > http://www.sysadminshare.com/2012/01/efi-shell-commands.html I hope that this information may help you to understand better what you have at your hands... And if you have any tip, feel free to share it here!

Let's continue with P-States. The relevant objects in the SSDT for P-States are _PCT, _PSS and _PPC. _PCT stands for Performance Control (ACPI spec chapter declares an interface that allows OSPM to transition to a specific performance state. I know to methods: one uses directly the CPU Performance Control Register (FFixedHW, 0x199) and the other one uses SystemIO to configure the P-State. I tried both methods on my system. Both are able to change the frequency, but only the direct method using the PERF_CTRL register could also change the voltage (checked with CPU-I). _PSS stands for Performance Supported States(ACPI spec chapter It declares the supported performance states to OSPM. It returns a package of all available P-States and each one declares Core Frequency, Power, Latency, Bus Master Latency, Control and Status. _PPC stands for Performance Present Capabilities (ACPI spec chapter It's is a method that dynamically indicates to OSPM the number of performance states currently supported. Returning 0 is fine and indicates that all P-States listed in _PSS are available. My system looks like this: DefinitionBlock ("ssdt_cpu0ist.aml", "SSDT", 1, "PmRef", "Cpu0Ist", 0x00003000) { External (CFGD) External (\_PR_.CPU0, DeviceObj) Scope (\_PR.CPU0) { Method (_PPC, 0, NotSerialized) { Return (0x00) } Method (_PCT, 0, NotSerialized) { If (LEqual (And (CFGD, 0x00060000), 0x00020000)) { Return (Package (0x02) { ResourceTemplate () { Register (SystemIO, 0x10, 0x00, 0x0000000000000880, ,) }, ResourceTemplate () { Register (SystemIO, 0x10, 0x00, 0x0000000000000882, ,) } }) } If (LEqual (And (CFGD, 0x00060000), 0x00040000)) { Return (Package (0x02) { ResourceTemplate () { Register (FFixedHW, 0x00, 0x00, 0x0000000000000000, ,) }, ResourceTemplate () { Register (FFixedHW, 0x00, 0x00, 0x0000000000000000, ,) } }) } If (LOr (And (CFGD, 0x4000), And (CFGD, 0x00010000))) { Return (Package (0x02) { ResourceTemplate () { Register (FFixedHW, 0x00, 0x00, 0x0000000000000000, ,) }, ResourceTemplate () { Register (FFixedHW, 0x00, 0x00, 0x0000000000000000, ,) } }) } Return (Package (0x02) { ResourceTemplate () { Register (SystemIO, 0x10, 0x00, 0x0000000000000880, ,) }, ResourceTemplate () { Register (SystemIO, 0x10, 0x00, 0x0000000000000882, ,) } }) } Method (_PSS, 0, NotSerialized) { If (LEqual (And (CFGD, 0x00060000), 0x00020000)) { Return (SPSS) } If (LEqual (And (CFGD, 0x00060000), 0x00040000)) { Return (NPSS) } If (LOr (And (CFGD, 0x4000), And (CFGD, 0x00010000))) { Return (NPSS) } Return (SPSS) } Name (SPSS, Package (0x02) { Package (0x06) { 0x00000B12, 0x000157C0, 0x000000A0, 0x0000000A, 0x00000036, 0x00000000 }, Package (0x06) { 0x000007D0, 0x0000DAC0, 0x000000A0, 0x0000000A, 0x00000136, 0x00000001 } }) Name (NPSS, Package (0x02) { Package (0x06) { 0x00000B12, 0x000157C0, 0x0000000A, 0x0000000A, 0x00004825, 0x00004825 }, Package (0x06) { 0x000007D0, 0x0000DAC0, 0x0000000A, 0x0000000A, 0x00000616, 0x00000616 } }) } }The CFGD is declared external here and it's defined in the "Root" SSDT: Name (CFGD, 0x040383F2)Until today I was not able to find a BIOS setting which changes CFGD in a way which has influence on the P-States. How they resolve: LEqual (And (0x040383F2, 0x00060000), 0x00020000) = TRUE LEqual (And (0x040383F2, 0x00060000), 0x00040000) = FALSE LOr (And (0x040383F2, 0x00004000), And (0x040383F2, 0x00010000)) = TRUE This means in my case that the P-States a handled using SystemIO, which in turn only switches the frequency and no the voltage. It coud be fixed by modifying CFGD to: Name (CFGD, 0x040583F2)Or just by removing all the SystemIO stuff which could look like this: DefinitionBlock ("ssdt_cpu0ist.aml", "SSDT", 1, "PmRef", "Cpu0Ist", 0x00003000) { External (CFGD) External (\_PR_.CPU0, DeviceObj) Scope (\_PR.CPU0) { Method (_PPC, 0, NotSerialized) { Return (0x00) } Method (_PCT, 0, NotSerialized) { Return (Package (0x02) { ResourceTemplate () { Register (FFixedHW, 0x00, 0x00, 0x0000000000000000, ,) }, ResourceTemplate () { Register (FFixedHW, 0x00, 0x00, 0x0000000000000000, ,) } }) } Method (_PSS, 0, NotSerialized) { Return (NPSS) } Name (NPSS, Package (0x02) { Package (0x06) { 0x00000B12, 0x000157C0, 0x0000000A, 0x0000000A, 0x00004825, 0x00004825 }, Package (0x06) { 0x000007D0, 0x0000DAC0, 0x0000000A, 0x0000000A, 0x00000616, 0x00000616 } }) } }To be continued... Please do not post until I'm finished!
