  1. How can I install this to a USB stick. Installer only shows my internal drive.
  2. How can I install this to a USB stick. Installer only shows my internal drive.
  3. Is it possible with a Gigabyte MB to save my current working BIOS so I can just try out Cartri without getting stuck with it.
  4. Pretty sad state of affairs over there. Can you imagine a company so desperate to hide the truth about their scam from new or potential suckers, I mean customers, that they actually have to proactively ban anyone from this forum who may speak the truth over there.
  5. What will go wrong if I just drag your boot, boot0 and boot1h files to there respective folders. This is what I have been doing and everything is working great. Along with my edited DSDT, I have system profiler reporting everything right, manual sleep, good audio, restart, proper icons etc. Please check my usb contents. Thanks
  6. Return it if at all possible. Build a chameleon based usb stick and save yourself the hassle of EFI-X failing to boot, right when you most need it to. Run don't walk away from that EFI-X scam!
  7. I like the fact that you are able to clean up the sloppy code. Replaced boot, boot1 and boot1h with yours and I started in verbose and everything looked normal. But...My restart stopped working. I have been using this version of chameleon: http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=192518&st=1100&p=1369210entry1369210 and I have (RestartFix = Yes) in my com.apple.Boot.plist Not sure what I need to do to make restart work with yours. thanks
  8. This one from BlackOSX and Thiagomorales lets me use themes again. But I don't know how to implement the UUID fix. http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=192518&st=1100&p=1369210entry1369210
  9. Asere, Your boot file works and I am hoping that the UUID I get now is really from my MB. Why does it not load the theme I have selected in my com.apple.Boot.plist? No offense but after the EFI-X nightmare I don't really want to see a picture of one every time I boot.
  10. I don't use SleepEnabler, but what are the steps I need to take to get rid of NullCPUPowermanagement.kext. I have a patched DSDT that has most but not all the edits in the useful DSDT edits thread.
  11. You are obviously new to the EFI-X. Come back after your unit dies  (they all do eventually) and you are stuck at "Verifying DMI Pool Data" and thats all your EFI-X will do. The nice people here will help you build a Chameleon based stick that's works and is always up to date with the latest the Hackintosh community has to offer. Then you'll know why we are here. Case in point: People on this forum are already running SL 10.6.2 the day it was released. How many months will it be before EFI-X even tries (and fails) to support the new update.
  12. Wow, those poor suckers still banging there heads against the wall with EFI-X! http://forum.efi-x.com/viewtopic.php?f=37&t=6504 They have more problems than we could ever imagine with Chameleon, and they can't do anything about it.
  13. I wonder if 10.6.2 affects anything we are doing with our HCL. Has anyone tried the 10.6.2 dev. release?
  14. Because I am in the Post Production business I have bought many Apple Mac's over the years. I any currently using the top of the line Mac Pro with a Decklink video card to online HD television at work. But, in my home office, it's more fun to hackintosh! My interest here is more of a hobby so to speak. I really like building my own computer and then being able to run OSX on it even though I don't have to. I think we all like the challenge. Mike, I bet that's why you're here, and just because you buy an Apple Mac doesn't mean you have to get out of the hack game.
  15. When I try this I always get a locked drive called client node.
  16. I have an EP45-UD3P and got Bonjour to work in Snow Leopard like a real Mac just by installing the 2.0.3 Realtek driver. http://www.realtek.com.tw/downloads/downloadsView.aspx?Langid=1&PNid=13&PFid=5&Level=5&Conn=4&DownTypeID=3&GetDown=false#7 Use Camino to download No need for ifconfig or any Realtek kext. Just a regular OSX style installer. of course I am using a custom DSDT patch so SL knows about my ethernet to begin with :o:D
  17. The answer would be NO! When I first started to build my Chameleon USB, I used to think it wouldn't work as well as my EFI-X. But after really getting into the nuts and bolts of how all this stuff works you start to realize that there is no way a generic unit that's made for many different users setups could ever work as well as your own custom setup. Once you do your own DSDT you are already way ahead of anything ASEM can do for you. I actually installed a fast USB EDC right on the USB1 header where my EFI-X used to be. I never worry about getting stuck at "Verifying DMI Pool Data" and my EFI-X dying anymore. And everything just works. Apple software updates and of course I am running SL 10.6.1 instead of waiting for lamers to figure out how to keep all the EFI-X's from dying.
  18. My last step was to install this little guy: http://www.memorydepot.com/ssd/listcat.asp?catid=USBV on my MB USB1 header right where the EFI-X used to be. Now with this fast USB EDC I have exactly what the EFI-X pretended to be, but mine works perfectly. Happiness is never again crossing your fingers and holding your breath every time it gets to the verifying DMI Pool Data! To get a real Mac experience you must edit your DSDT file, then everything just works. I found everything I needed right here on this forum. Thanks Mike!
  19. I ordered from: http://www.memorydepot.com/ssd/listcat.asp?catid=USBV This place isn't any cheaper than what you found.
  20. It's not a regular usb stick. Here's the one I ordered... http://www.innodisk.com/production.jsp?flashid=32 I was thinking internal flash (EDC) might be faster, more durable, and inside the case and out of the way. Much like the failed EFI-X module was except it won't stop working on you for no reason.
  21. This would be the Delock USB equivalent of what I posted, very cool. http://www.delock.com/produkte/gruppen/flash+speicher/Delock_USB20_Flash_Module_512MB_vertical_54150.html The IDE flash modules look interesting, but can our Gigabyte MB's boot from IDE when we are in AHCI mode for chameleon?
  22. Do you guys think this would work as an internal USB drive? Mounts on the MB USB 10 pin like the EFI-X did, and maybe we can install chameleon to it??? Your thoughts? http://www.transcendusa.com/support/dlcenter/datasheet/TS512M~4GUFM-V_H0409.pdf
  23. My USB stick is working so well in both Leopard and SL that I decided to remove the Chameleon install from my SL Hard Drive. What besides the obvious Extra folder should I get rid of? Thanks
  24. Yes, I did all that on the Hard drive install. Did not do anything to the USB install but it works. Do you have the 10.5/10.6 method working from a HD install?
