1. Martin, try this:?Clover 2 (r3021) - Green System Pack 2 (3021)
2. ? If OS X is installed properly with Clover boot loader, then you can install with cloverALC for ALC 885, 887, 888, 889, 892, 898 or 1150 audio cards ?drivers without changing any genuine Apple kexts. ? http://www.hackintoshosx.com/files/file/4308-clover-alc-audio-update-persistent/ ?
3. ? ? For first share your comp specification. Vendor, model, other hardware installed into this comp. ? Be specific and provide URL to vendor page of product too.
4. An easiest way to install Yosemite is to use Clover, for both, for an USB installation stick and for booting OS X.? ? There is an installation pack for latest Clover, which contains installation instructions too. Just download, mount, read instructions and go. ? Glover 2 (r3021) - Green System Pack 2 (3021) ? Package contains several additional tools to make installation process easier. ? Important note: ? Make sure that you install Clover on post installation into EFI partition! ? To make EFI partition accessible for Clover and bootable you have to pre-format it, before installing Clover. It's a bit tricky, but if done correctly, it makes your OS run nice and smooth, without noticing any hacks at all! ? Important suggestion, do not format EFI from new Yosemite!! Instead, reboot into installation again and use terminal from tools menu. Get from diskutil a valid disk id and apply command. And then reboot into Yosemite again and install Clover. ?I noticed that if you try to format EFI directly form Yosemite, Clover install fails sometimes, EFI is not bootable.?Just for case type this command somewhere or print it out. Replace rdisk0s?with appropriate one you got from diskutil infosudo newfs_msdos -v EFI -F 32 /dev/rdisk0s1? ?

13. I should thank everybody for hard work! Mobo: GA-X48T-DQ6 (with ALC889A audio) Installed OS: Mac OS X, Snow Leopard, 10.6.4 I downloaded kext and updated my dsdd.aml and audio is working like a charm. Haven't tested yet the 5.1 audio, but I to it, but it should be easily available, as all outputs are mapping correctly into my 5.1 speaker, just some aggregate device is needed to create. But I'm curious, does ACL889A device can work without kext, because if I used this dsdt fix below, I had sound trough green output without additional kext. So, I believe there should be some solution to use only dsdt fix. Any suggestions? If we get correct replacement for rows marked with pink below, we should be capable to get ALC889A to work without additional kext. Device (HDEF) { Name (_ADR, 0x001B0000) Method (_PRW, 0, NotSerialized) { Return (Package (0x02) { 0x0D, 0x05 }) } Method (_DSM, 4, NotSerialized) { Store (Package (0x08) { "codec-id", Buffer (0x04) { 0x85, 0x08, 0xEC, 0x10 }, "layout-id", Unicode ("B"), "device-type", Buffer (0x11) { "ALC889a" }, "PinConfigurations", Buffer (0x28) { /* 0000 */ 0x10, 0x90, 0xA0, 0x90, 0x20, 0x90, 0xA1, 0x02, /* 0008 */ 0x80, 0x30, 0x81, 0x01, 0x90, 0x40, 0x21, 0x02, /* 0010 */ 0x30, 0x40, 0x11, 0x01, 0x40, 0x10, 0x01, 0x01, /* 0018 */ 0x50, 0x60, 0x01, 0x01, 0x60, 0x20, 0x01, 0x01, /* 0020 */ 0x70, 0x61, 0x4B, 0x01, 0xA0, 0x01, 0xCB, 0x01 } }, Local0) DTGP (Arg0, Arg1, Arg2, Arg3, RefOf (Local0)) Return (Local0) } } By the way, the most important part is only the Method (_DSM, 4, NotSerialized) {...} part, which defines how Mac OS X can communicate with audio device. Some notes for others, who are about seeking for working audio! Please remember, You NEED one of solutions models below: A 1. Fixed dsdt.aml file (your mobo & bios version specific) under /E/E B 1. Fixed dsdt.aml file (your mobo & bios version specific) under /E/E 2. Some additional kext under /E/E or /S/L/E (Reccomended is /S/L/E) The best option is of course solution A, which is bulletproof against OS update. Anyway, if your audio does not work right out of box, then you need to do some hard work to get it work (hard means - you should educate yourself a bit about DSDT etc.
