  1. I will try as soon as Apple releases open source code to 10.8.3 kernel..
  2. Sorry but I've tried compiling 10.7.5 with the fix but I keep getting errors... Can't seem to figure it out
  3. what I did was use disk utility to repair disk permissions and then used kext utility to install a kext, then rebooted and it booted fine with the kernel cache.

MOUNTAIN LION OS X 10.8.2 (12C54) Darwin 12.2.0 cpus =1 lapic fix mach_kernel HP LAPTOP USERS WITH AN INTEL i3, i5, or i7 processor.  (DAMN YOU HP !!!)  Make sure you REBUILD your kernel cache or boot with -f boot flag to bypass your cache file before you come back to post a complaint about how it KP'ed on you... ... Tested w/ HP DV6T 6186nr i7 2670QM lappie... good luck...
  6. 10.8.2 kernel source code has not been released yet... Usually Apple releases it in about a week or so after an update. Should be any day now....
  7. Yes. 1. Boot with the original (unmodified) mach_kernel with cpus=1 -f boot flag (-f is just to make sure you bypass your kernel cache files) 2. Once you are in ML with your original kernel, start dictation and check to see if you can dictate (it should be working). 3. After you verify dictation is working, replace the original mach_kernel with the modified lapic fixed mach_kernel. 4. Reboot (You should be booting into ML with the modified kernel so all cores should work.) 5. You should have dictation working with all your cores. GOOD LUCK!!!
  8. If you had dictation set up and working previously, boot into ML with the original mach_kernel /w cpus=1 -f , then open dictation and check to see it working, then reboot with the lapic fixed kernel. Dictation should be working with the fixed kernel. I'm not sure how long you will be able to use it for but it will most likely stop functioning again after awhile. Then you have to repeat the step again. (pain in the butt) That is why I keep both kernels in the root and switch kernels as needed to boot. Using Chameleon Wizard to edit your org.chameleon.Boot.plist to change your boot flags is handy if you don't want to do it at the boot screen.

Only tested it for like an hour w/ i7 2670QM lappie so good luck...
  11. I am using Enoch (r2042) and on Power On Self-Test: Passed
  12. @sammyskay - you might be booting with old kernel cache if you haven't rebuilt your cache and are using UseKernelCache=Yes in your org.chameleon.Boot.plist. Try -f boot flag to bypass your kernel cache to see if you get all cores.
  13. make sure you rebuild your kernel cache or boot with -f boot flag to bypass your cache file or else you will get KP since it will load your original kernel from cache.
  14. You might want to check out these sites, they have a lot of info on DSDT patching... Good Luck! http://olarila.com/blog/ http://olarila.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=19 http://www.projectosx.com/forum/index.php?showforum=160 http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showforum=228 http://www.{censored}.com/dsdt/
  15. Yes, I think its a good idea to install the final version of ML instead of running a developer preview. i don't think anybody has gotten the ATI discreet graphics card to work on the HP laptops. I only have HD3000 with QE/CI working OOB.
  16. i have not tested this kernel on dp3. Tested with 10.8 Build (12A269) and it is also 64-bit only.
  17. make sure you rebuild your kernel cache or boot with -f boot flag to bypass your cache file...

  19. UPDATE: Got dictation working!!! What i did was use the original kernel and booted up cpus=1 -f as before. Then setup iCloud, Facetime, and iMessage using my AppleID. Then boot up again with the modified kernel. Cha Ching, dictation working with all cores!!! iCloud, Facetime, iMessage, and Dictation ALL WORKING!! Hope it sticks!!(fingers crossed)
  20. FYI: Setup your iCloud and Facetime account before swapping the kernel or else you will get an error if you try to set it up after you change your mach_kernel. Also realized dictation stops working after changing to the modified kernel (anybody have a fix for this??? i guess small price to pay to get all cores working. Dictation seems more of a novelty than a real useful program i would use on a regular basis.)

MOUNTAIN LION 10.8(12A269) Darwin 12.0.0 HP USERS WITH AN INTEL i3, i5, or i7 sandybridge processors. CPUS=1 FIX FOR HP LAPTOPS ML mach_kernel (recompiled) - compiled without adding "export BUILD_STABS = 1" in line 1 of ~/xnu-1699.22.81/makedefs/MakeInc.def said in the forum it wouldn't compile without that line but it did compile. Both kernel seems to work. Please test and let us know which one is better...
  24. Works GREAT! 10.8 MAS on HP DV6t 6186nr
