  1. ? I'm very sorry to hear this, but I'm pretty sure that the KPs you are getting are not related to this. Especially if you've removed the installed files correctly? The app doesn't modify any essential system files, it just adds a launch daemon. If you remove the files, the launch daemon will be gone, and no traces are left over. ? It doesn't fry LAN cards either. It just plays music.? ? What is the exact error message you're getting?
  2. Okay, great! By the way, there's a debug branch on Github:?https://github.com/nicoSWD/Carillon/blob/Debug-Version/Carillon/main.m ? It tries to load common kexts, including VoodooHDA.? ? Here's a list of all releases:?https://github.com/nicoSWD/Carillon/releases
  3. Did you put the new binary in the "bin" folder before making the new package? ? Thank you! I'll update the list.
  4. The source of the bin file is on GitHub, it's actually main.m. The "sound" is in ChimeData.m ? https://github.com/nicoSWD/Carillon/tree/master/Carillon
  5. ? Okay, thank you! In the meanwhile, you might want to try version 1.2b, since there's no binary to compile. It uses the built-in afplay to play the sound. ? https://github.com/nicoSWD/Carillon/releases/tag/v1.2b
  6. ? It should work on SL. I just don't have a SL machine to try it on, that's why I selected "Unknown". Have you tried it? ? EDIT: You might want to try version 1.2b on SL: https://github.com/nicoSWD/Carillon/releases/tag/v1.2b ? ? Glad you like it!
  7. ? Thanks for letting me know. How did you get your audio to work? Patched AppleHDA? USB audio? ? Today I released another version, which uses a different approach. Here's the link if you want to give it a try. ? https://github.com/nicoSWD/Carillon/releases/tag/v1.2b

Carillon is an open source OS X app, specifically for Hackintosh machines, that plays the classic "Chime" boot sound on startup that real Macs have. A new launch daemon will be added that triggers the sound, meaning, unlike most similar apps, this one runs much earlier during the boot process, even before the login screen appears. No crappy AppleScript solution that triggers when you're already on the Desktop, and no outdated PrefPane. It has currently been tested on OS X 10.8.2 and 10.8.5, but it should work on previous and future versions as well. Please report any issues you may have. No new icons or settings will be added. Reboot your system to enjoy. There's a on YouTube. The source code is available here: https://github.com/nicoSWD/Carillon
