Hey! Mavericks on Asus k52F ?

? How did you get vanilla installed? I've tried using myhack and U{censored}, and it just keeps getting stuck booting the installer after loading bluetooth drivers. If I let it sit, it will occasionally poll the USB media, but never makes any progress.

Hey! Mavericks on Asus k52F ?

Guys, if you are getting stuck at DSMOS msgs, or AppleIntelCPUPowermanagement, and it just sits there, try this script: ? http://www.osx86.net/files/file/487-fix-for-dsmos-has-arrived-for-intel-hd-graphics/ ? The reason is because the retail IntelHD drivers try to load, and do not work with the Asus versions, so the boot just hangs up. This script will delete the retail drivers from the disk and allow the system to boot in using base vga. If you are unable to boot into any mode of the OS to get the script on the system, copy it onto the installation media, boot from that media, then run the script from there.

    Noob here AMD Asus a8n5x

Your best bet would be to use the Hazard 10.6.6i distribution. Google for where to download it. As far as the install options, you will need to get detailed specs on your rig, but with the right install options, it should work. On any AMD rig I have installed on, you must boot from dvd and on the final install with these options: cpus=1 busratio=20

    newbie needs help

Is the "patch" in a .kext form?
  5. I'm using Hazard 10.6.6i and it uses a dark gray background on the About This Mac Window. Anyone know how to change it? I'm referring to the window color, not the graphic itself.
  6. I got this working after a lot of failed attempts, so I wanted to share how I did it. First, download the RadonHD kext from http://www.osx86.net/downloads.php?do=file&id=713&act=down&actionhash=1330295421-a40a2fd11c5c2caa3e7f85d2461840886047d8bb&multiple=NzEzLVJhZGVvbkhELmtleHQuemlw and install with Kext Helper. Reboot and ensure your Hackintosh boots. At this point, you still will have a resolution of 1024x768, but About This Mac/More Info should properly detect your graphics card. Reboot and add: "Graphics Mode"="1280x800@85" (with quotes) to the boot options. Your pc should come up with full resolution.

    SL, Can't run 64-bit software

Thank you. Will give it a try. I decided to try the 10.6.6 legacy kernel referenced in the guide you linked, and that resolved the issue - I'm now installing After Effects CS5. Which I'm glad about, because I've already gotten other hardware working which took some time. Thanks for helping to resolve.

    SL, Can't run 64-bit software

I have tried a few distros including iAtkos s3 v2, iDeneb 3, and Hazard 10_6_6i (which I'm currently using). My system specs are AMD Turion x64, 4GB RAM. I am currently booting from PC EFI 10.6, but was using the default kernel from the Hazard distro. About This Mac shows the CPU as a Intel Core 2 Duo after I modified the smbios.plist. Without smbios.plist, it was showing as a Core Duo. I just can't make x64 software run on any distro or kernel. Everthing I've tried in OSX says the cpu doesn't support it. sysctl hw | grep 64bit reads: -hw.cpu64bit_capable: 0 If it makes any difference, I have to boot on any distro with kernel flags: cpus=1 busratio=20 The real cpu is 64-bit, and I know Core 2 Duos are 64-bit. Is there anything I can do? I really want to use After Effects on this thing. Thanks ahead for any help.
