    Radeon 6520G kext?

I didn't couldn't find anything specific for 6520g (or apu's in general), that's why my graphic card is not really recognized, it shows as unknown with very little ram, but for some reason I can still change the resolution with boot flag, animations work but not very smooth and youtube videos don't play(web videos in general, being html5 or flash) Before the 10.6.8 update the card was also not recognized properly but web videos were playing and the animations were smoother.
  2. My best guess is that once 10-15 min are passed and your system goes in power saver mode - turns off hdd etc, it can't start back on. I had this problem but didn't spend much time trying to fix it as I never use power saving even in windows, putting everything on "never" and stopping the turn off hdd future in settings->power saver solved it for me.
  3. I tried various methods of installing show leopard on my laptop HP ProBook 6465b with 3410mx APU At the end I managed to install hazard10.6.1-10.6.2 and then update to 10.6.8 using the combo update package. At the moment 10.6.8 is working but I can't seem to get the sound working (neither in 10.6.2) Tried installing with legacyHDA and voodooHDA during the 10.6.2 install with no luck In 10.6.8 I also tried installing the voodoohda package but also no luck. I am not very experienced with running mac on pc and any help with this matter will be greatly appreciated! The graphics card (6520g) seems to work but not completely, have a boot flag "Graphics Mode"="1366x768x32" so that it will boot with my max resolution, the doc is transparent as well as other windows so I guess it sort of works, however it only shows the card as 128mb. I guess with this APUs is a bit tricky as they share ram with the processor, however the graphics have higher priority over the ram(in windows the card takes 512 ram on start up, making in inaccessible for the cpu, so 4Gb ram shows as 3.5Gb system ram and 512Mb video ram, plus it can take up to 2Gb during heavy use) Also when I try to watch videos in youtube the video screen is black but the time line is going, last flashplayer is installed (safari was crashing before I updated the flashplayer) so I'm guessing that this has to do with flashplayer trying to use GPU acceleration, hence video card problem.
  4. I have a HP AMD laptop with 3410mx APU, ModCD + retail did not work for me as well I spend loads of time trying different things and the end got 10.6.8 working by installing hazard10.6.1-10.6.2 first and then upgrading with the 10.6.8 combo.

    Radeon 6520G kext?

I have the same card (3410mx, 6520g), would love to find a kext for it too. At the moment with hazard 10.6.2 updated to 10.6.8 It kind of works out of the box for me and not. I can change my resolution to 1366x768 if I use flag "Graphics Mode"="1366x768x32", there is transparency etc and it seems that I can play movies (but of course won't utilize the built in video decoder or provide any openCL acceleration). however the video ram shows only as 128Mb (in windows it will take 512Mb of your ram and make it non-accessible for the cpu, if 4gb installed it will show 3.5Gb, as 0.5 are taken by the video card exclusively, apart from that the card can also take up to 2gb if required, like when playing a game). There is also a deterioration by the left and right edges of a window if I drag it around the screen(especially fast) I guess I can use it as if it's intel gma x3100, but can forget about playing a game or use openCL (which kind of defeats the whole point of having a APU)
  6. Thanks for the link, but It won't work for me unless I manage to install snow leopard first (existing snow leopard is required if you don't have a hackintosh built or apple branded machine) I also thought that since I am able to boot the installation with some methods there should be something I am doing wrong with my selection to have it not working after that. I only select one option and not entire category (red somewhere that otherwise you'll get into trouble), been playing with it for quite a while now(more than a week now, got so into it missed to work the last 5 days...). The only thing I haven tried is to make a completely stripped out install, no sound, graphics lan etc to see if that works and make my way up from there. Thanks for the help! I(We) kind of hijacked this thread(sorry BigHacker1986)
  7. to hulkintosh: for 10.5 I tried kalway (10.5.2) and ideneb 10.5.5 - it goes very smooth with the installation (no flags or anything needed), but then can't boot the os "panic(cpu ..." for 10.6 if I try mod cd + retail (10.6.3 retail) with "OSX86_ModCD-032311-151021" and "EmpireEFI4AMD" I can't boot the installation - "panic(cpu ..." When I use the hazard 10.6.1-10.6.2 the installation goes very smooth (no flags or anything) but then again I can't boot the os - "panic(cpu ..." for 10.7.3 I've only tried N{censored} v2 with "Kernel Cache"=\amd -v I'm getting the boot device error if I also add -legacy I can pass mounting of the boot device but then again "panic(cpu ..." adding arch=i386 or -force64 or busratio=(my ratio) or npci=(my npci) one by one or in any combination does not change anything the "panic(cpu ..." is exactly the same since I am always getting "panic(cpu ..." with 10.5,10.6 and 10.7 either during install boot or os boot I'm thinking that there is something off about my chipset (while using google I found that some people with 3410mx have installed 10.6.3 so I guess that the processor is not the problem but the chipset) Someone was saying that probook will not work as it's bios is locked and virtualization etc can't be set, however I can unlock and change my bios settings using WMI+hp's CLI in powershell so that's not a problem
  8. I am having the exact same problem like you with N{censored} lion 10.7.3 v2 if I use: "Kernel Cache" = \ amd-v arch = i386 -v I am stuck with "imageboot_mount_image:root device" so far the only way to pass that line is if I add "-legacy" to the above flags, however then it dies with kernel panic "panic(cpu 0 caller 0x2a7e57): Kernel trap at 0x56448231, type 14=page fault, registers: ..." however I'm getting this same panic with osx 10.5, 10.6 and 10.7 there is something about my processor or chipset that just won't let me install any os x (3410mx in probook notebook) try using -legacy to pass the boot device error
  9. Is there any version of Lion (or even snow leopard) that have a amd kernel working with llano apu, in particular 3410mx (hp probook 6465b)? I tried installing 10.7.2 and 10.7.3 it seems that regardless of which kernel I try or the the flags used I can't even boot the installation, for example: N{censored}12495-Lion-10.7.3-V2 with "Kernel Cache" = \ amd-v arch = i386" dies on "imageboot_mount_image:root device" (no boot device) if I add "-legasy" it can get pass that line but then the processor fails With snow leo what ever I try, retail versions or moded iso's there is no problem to install successfully but then no way of booting the os regardless of which flags I use (always get processor error) I wonder is there anyone that have successfully installed osx 10.6 or 10.7 on a a-6 or a-8 apu? Started to think that all 10.6 amd solutions don't work with llano while 10.7 amd support is still in early development and again won't work with llano
