  1. Hey, I am currently running Mavericks DP8 and wish to get iLife and iWork for free. I changed my SMBIOS to one from this year (2013), but need to change the registration date of the Hack so the MAS recognizes it as eligible for the free download. How can I best go about doing this? I can reinstall Mavericks if needed, but would like to explore other possibilites first. Thanks as always, wws12
  2. Hey, I am trying to upgrade my installation of Mavericks DP8 to 10.9.0 Retail currently dual booted on a MBR partition alongside Windows 7. I cannot afford to lose this Windows partition. What is the best way to upgrade? Download and install over DP8, or format the partition and fresh install? Sorry for the question, but I don't want to screw my Windows partition up. Any help anyone could offer is always appreciated. I am currently running Chimera 2.2 BTW Thanks, wws12
  3. Hey, What would I need to look out for if I try installing ML or Mavericks DP on this laptop. It's a core i3-3120m with HD 4000 graphics and a Realtek audio chip. Kexts, plist edits? Thanks, wws12
  4. Hey, Will this laptop be compatible with Mountain Lion or Mavericks. One thing that worries me is that the laptop uses a Intel GMA 4500 MHD graphics chip, which seems to have had trouble with QE/CI. Have these issues been resolved, and is there anything else I should know before installing? Kernel flags maybe? Thanks, wws12
  5. Hey, I installed SL 10.6.3 with Nawcom's ModCD yesterday and it installed and booted fine. I needed to update to 10.6.8 so my processor could use the vanilla kernel. I ran the combo update WITHOUT (in my stupidity) deleting ACPI_SMC_PlatformPlugin.kext from IOPlatformPluginFamily.kext plugins folder (in System/Library/Extensions). As expected, it crashed with a kernel panic. I hard reset the system and now when I boot with -v it gets stuck at [PCI Configuration Begin] RTC: Only single RAM bank (128 bytes) I found this article: {censored} Forum ? Information but I cannot use it because no matter what I use as boot flags, it still hangs up at the RTC error. If I use npci=0x2000, I get a reboot instead of a freeze at the same place. Thank you for your help. wws12
  6. What commands/operation should I use to achieve my goal?
  7. Hello. My OS X partition is now seen as a Windows NTFS partition in DarwinDumper. I cannot boot from the hard drive and Chameleon won't recognize it. Has anyone seen this problem before and if so can offer some advice? I really want to get this fixed. I have a 1TB HDD, 800 GB for Windows 7 and 200 GB for OS X. DEVICE TYPE NAME SIZE PBR (Stage1) BootFile (Stage 2) UEFI BootFile disk0s1 Windows_NTFS 785 GB Windows NTFS NTLDR disk0s2 Windows_NTFS 214 GB Chameleon boot1h
  8. Yeah apparently when I installed Windows 7 SP1 everything fell apart at the seams. Oh well, I'm probably going to reinstall from scratch when 10.9 DP1 comes out. Just delete the partition in Disk Management and run boot rec.exe /fixmbr and /fixboot right? Thanks for your help! :-)
  9. Will this work? It's in HTML format. I noticed while boot that there was a message saying rd=disk0s2 (NO WRITE) Is this the issue? https://www.dropbox.com/s/p98wsx8ki43hpgl/DarwinDump.htm
  10. No I have a 1TB MBR drive that has a 200Gb HFS+ partition for ML. The other 800GB is for Windows 7. The OS X partition is labeled (null) in the installer. The windows partition says the partition can't be changed with a yellow exclamation point.
