  1. ? hi there, I hope I have posted this in the correct place.? ? I am having a great deal of trouble with my hackintosh that I have recently built. I have got the apple side of things installed on a separate hard drive to my windows, and that all works fine, give or take a few minor errors. the trouble that i am having now is that my windows 8 side that is on a different internal hard drive is just giving me errors after errors. ? here are some of the symptoms: - unable to load itunes, the icon on the task bar appears if it loading up and then stops and goes back to how it looked if i hadn't clicked it. - norton 360, once clicked it instantly says 'Norton 360 has stopped working'. - unable to load most of my apps, music, video, etc. the loading page appears with the symbol for about 5-10 seconds and then goes back to my start screen. - unable to open pc settings. i wanted to carry out system restores, however like my app, it displays the cog symbol, then after 5-10 seconds goes back to the start screen. - unable to run trouble shooter, displays an error message saying it ran into a problem, therefore i have to close. ? these are just some of the symptoms i have when i am able to access windows. ? getting onto this screen is very difficult. when i start my computer, i have to access the boot options, and then select the option called Windows Boot Manager. for some reason this has been partitioned on my mac os HDD (mavericks), however when it loads it launched my windows side, and obviously runs my windows drive. if i am successful, i can type my password in and i am greeted with my start screen. alternatlively i sometime encounter a message saying: ? The User Profile Service failed the sign-in. ? The remote procedure call failed and did not execute. ? i then select OK, and the login screen appears a second time. this time if i type my password in and enter, i am usually greeted with what seems like the installation process for windows. it says stuff like 'Hi' and 'Getting Your Apps Ready'. i have followed this through to no avail, and it simply reboots my machine. ? to get around this i have managed to install my Windows 8 installation DVD, selected the advanced options and entered command prompt. from here i have typed in bootrec/fixmbr. at this point i reboot my machine, boot from the Windows Boot Manager partition and that usually allows me to access my desktop. ? If i was to boot from the HDD that windows is installed on, i get an error message saying; 'No operating system was found' and then it says to press ctrl, alt and delete to restart my computer. ? when i boot from the windows 8 DVD, i also have the ability to refresh my pc or even restore my pc. i have attempted to run both of these to no success. i get errors messages saying the drive you have selected is locked. please unlock it, etc. ? now i am completely stuck??? my mac side is fine, and i can access that by inserting my Uni****t?USB and selecting mavericks from the list. however i need my windows side working. ? If anyone knows how to resolve trhis without losing my data i will be truly thankful if not, i will have to simply reformat the drive and re-install windows i guess? im not sure how to do this though?? ? many thanks in advance, and please can someone help me with these issues!
  2. I shall give that a go in regard to booting mac. In regards to my windows side. I think I desperately need to refresh it. I run into all sorts of errors when running the windows 8 DVD I have, however is there a much easier way to refreshing windows? Many thanks again
  3. Also a problem that has started to annoy me now is how unresponsive windows 8 has become. I can occasionally login to windows 8 without any problems, however every 4-5 attempt I login, I have to insert my installation disc to run command prompt and run bootrec/fixmbr I order to resolve the issue. Occasionally instead of logging in, it displays an error messages about not being able to login, then the logging out screen appears and then resets back to where I would type in my password to connect. I have now idea what this is doing. Once I finally have access to my windows desktop, very few things work, for example my web browsers and adobe suite software work fine, but I can't run any apps, iTunes, Norton 360. The trouble shooter encounters a problem so that stops working, and I can't access pc settings to do a refresh or pc restore? Is there anything you can do in regards to fixing this issue? Many thanks again in advance.
  4. tried with Boot0hfs with the same scrambled writing the the previous. ? downloaded DPCIManager and ran it. ? there was a long list of "ERROR: Unknown Device". and under details there are two entries; class and subclass. Subclass shows the same error message as previously stated, class says "unclassified device". ? not sure what this rurally means, but if it helps you then it helps me. ? many thanks again
  5. followed you instructions to no success. tested it and got the same crazy output as previously. I also tried running the chameleon wizard and did the suggested update that you mentioned earlier, and still received the same output. ? any suggestions? ? many thanks again
  6. hi again, carried out the second suggestion through the terminal, as well as following the instructions from the macbreaker link. ? unfortunately the issue still isn't resolved, but yet again looks better. ? many thanks in advance again. ?
  7. Hi again, i downloaded Chameleon wizard and installed it according to the image you provided, however the issue is better, but not still resolved. ? instead of any boot errors, i simply get a flashing '_' ? many thanks again for the great assistance
  8. hi again, i got it?to run now, currently writing this post from the Mac side. Mavericks is fully installed, running of my AMD Radeon 7000 series graphics card with great thanks to you, however i do have a slight issue. ? I cannot get it to boot up successfully without the Uni****t Bootable USB. I ran Mult*****t and it appeared successful, but when i load up the HDD from boot, it comes up with a boot error? ? any suggestions on what to do? i have attached a few images to help you understand what i mean. ? Many Thanks again.?
  9. Hi there, thank you for the response. 1. In regards to my gpu, there is no output as I cannot connect my monitor to my motherboard (see attached image). Any suggestions as what I should do? 2. Also I'm not sure how to select intel HD from within my bios (very sorry, as I am relatively new to the pc building process). 3. I have also attached another image which I believed myself disabling vt-d, not sure about. Vt-z? 4. I have attached another image as to what I believe is me disabling legacy boot, however I can no longer recognise the usb I need to boot. 5. I ran the usb with my gpu still connected, with only vt-d disable and It appeared to work, it opened the apple installation however it flashes an annoying glitch. Ihave attached an image with the result. Many thanks again. I will continue following the guide to install the os in advance.
