  1. hey, how are u? ive seen u have manage to install Snow Leopard on Sony Vaio VPC-CW1S1E...can u tell me how??? some video tutorial for i do the same??? please answer. thanks

  2. A explanation would be nice, Tried to download/launch the .dmg and it is indeed not giving me a error message about a incompatible card. So when I'm planning to reinstall my working 10.6.6 installation with my new GTX470 can I just only install these NVIDIA Drivers and that's it? Or does it still need a modified com.apple.boot.plist thanks!
  3. Ok, My videocard got delivered today! I installed it in my PC and in Windows 7 it is fully working. Now I try to install this videocard in MacOSX 10.6.6 with the original Nvidia quadro drivers but because I don't have a quadro card it refuses me to install them. So I tried {censored} x86 nvidia updated drivers but it still doesn't recognize my GTX470 videocard... any workarounds? Edit: Tried to boot with PCIRootUID=1 still no luck.. My com.apple.boot.plist: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <!DOCTYPE plist PUBLIC "-//Apple//DTD PLIST 1.0//EN" "http://www.apple.com/DTDs/PropertyList-1.0.dtd"> <plist version="1.0"> <dict> <key>Default Partition</key> <string>hd(0,2)</string> <key>GenerateCStates</key> <string>Yes</string> <key>GeneratePStates</key> <string>Yes</string> <key>Kernel</key> <string>mach_kernel</string> <key>Kernel Flags</key> <string>arch=x86_64</string> <key>PCIRootUID</key> <string>1</string> <key>Quiet Boot</key> <string>Yes</string> <key>Rescan</key> <string>Yes</string> </dict> </plist> Edit 2: When I boot from the iB{censored} boot CD my videocard is working... WTF am I doing wrong and is there a way that I can view the com.apple.Boot.plist from the iB{censored} CD? Edit 3: Did create a new com.apple.boot.plist and now everything is working fine! I was a little bit afraid that I bought a new videocard for just nothing but when I try this with my old GTX295 videocard I do get the right resolution and it does recognize my GTX295 but my pc freezes after a couple of minutes on 10.6.6 so I'm happy that I bought my GTX470 in the end. My com.apple.boot.plist(generated with MB{censored}): <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <!DOCTYPE plist PUBLIC "-//Apple//DTD PLIST 1.0//EN" "http://www.apple.com/DTDs/PropertyList-1.0.dtd"> <plist version="1.0"> <dict> <key>EthernetBuiltIn</key> <string>Yes</string> <key>GraphicsEnabler</key> <string>Yes</string> <key>Kernel</key> <string>mach_kernel</string> <key>Kernel Flags</key> <string> PCIRootUID=1</string> <key>Legacy Logo</key> <string>Yes</string> <key>Timeout</key> <string>1</string> </dict> </plist>
  4. Nops, there is no hidepartition in my com.apple.boot.plist but w/e I'll use easybcd for now but this is very weird..
  5. Well, that's the thing I used a different method(boot CD instead of USB Stick etc etc.) but the main thing is the same, after I Installed Windows 7 I booted in MacOSX 10.6 via my 132-bootCD and installed Chameleon bootloader now my PC uses perfectly the Chameleon bootloader but doesn't list my Windows 7 partition(NTFS) but DOES list my DATA harddisk which is also formatted as NTFS but on a seperate disc. So what did I do wrong or how can I fix this?
  6. Did Exactly the same as above explained I only don't understand: - 6. Install Chameleon with boot options booth0 Do I need to boot MacOSX with boot option booth0 or how can I give this paramater @ install
  7. Ok so I only have to follow that guide in order to get my GTX470 working? Because I heard in other threads people talking about a NVIDIA Driver and a CUDA driver? Thanks in advance!
  8. Hm, They are talking about the "Original" Nvidia drivers @ 10.6.6, where can I get these? Because when I look for my model @ the nivdia website there is no snow leopard support for this card at all.
  9. Thanks for your help with all my problems, Toltuga!
  10. That is the thing I know how EasyBCD works but I want to use Chameleon instead..
  11. Hi All, I'm having problems with getting my Windows 7 install recognized in Chameleon bootloader. I tried it this way: - Formatted my 500GB harddrive into 2 partitions(GUID partition scheme) 250GB each 1x Mac OS Journaled(Extended) and 1x FAT32 for Windows - Installed MacOSX 10.6.3 on the Journaled(Extended) partition updated to 10.6.6 dsdt patching and all that in the end installed Chameleon RC5 from the MB{censored} post install package - Installed Windows 7 Ultimate x64 on the FAT32 partition installed drivers and all that - After that rebooted and I mentioned Windows 7 overwrote the chameleon bootloader and marked it's partition as active so what I did is: * Marked the OSX partition as active again * Tried to boot in OSX with my iB{censored} CD * Reinstalled Chameleon again * Tried to repair Windows 7 The results are that I'm using Chameleon bootloader again but it doesn't recognize my Windows 7 Installation? How can I make Chameleon see my Windows 7 Installation? Thanks
  12. I've bought this one: GIGABYTE - Graphics Card - NVIDIA - PCI Express Solution - GeForce 400 Series - GV-N470SO-13I It doesn't really matter that it's a gigabyte right? Because they all use the same onboard chipset: GTX470 Bought this one because it is factory overclocked to 700MHz.
  13. Thanks for your quick reply but I suppose these drivers also work with 10.6.6?
  14. Hi all, Been a active reader on insanelymac for a while already and had a fully working leopard installation before. A few weeks ago my GTX295 nvidia card from XFX got delivered and I wanted to give Snow Leopard a try. It seems that the GTX295 needs alot more modifications then only installing/replacing some kexts and I don't want to do this every time there comes a new update of osx. All my other hardware is 100% supported with DSDT patching / kext replacement only my GTX295 will not work in 10.6.6 so my question is will the GTX 470 work without alot of modifications? Because then I'll buy the GTX470 and sell my GTX295. So if the GTX470 is supported can someone explain me how to install this or will it work out of the box with GraphicEnabler=Yes @ Chameleon bootloader? Thanks all! - Khoneini
  15. SleepEnabler.kext will resolve your sleep/wakeup freeze problem: 32 bit: http://www.kexts.com/view/591-sleepenabler.kext.html 64 bit: http://www.kexts.com/view/624-sleepenabler.kext.html Edit: These sleepenablers are for 10.6.5 only(I think) Below is the one for 10.6.4: SleepEnabler.kext for 10.6.4 - Downloads - Kexts.com About sound, I have the same sound card in my laptop as yours. Didn't have a look at it yet but as reported by many users VoodooHDA.kext must work for the ALC262. VoodooHDA can be found here: voodoohda - Project Hosting on Google Code Use the search function, all your hardware seems to be supports, if you don't get the videocard working that is understandable because you have a Sony Vaio laptop like I do with a customized videochip from Nvidia. But things like sleep doesn't work and that your sound doesn't work because you don't have any kexts(drivers) installed is useless. Go do some research first before posting a question
