    GeForce 8400 GS 1GB

I have tried so may thinks over the past days but could not get it tow work (NVidia Driver Package), com.apple.boot.plist from GT 430 (all about Threads #18). Also with SleepEnabler and natit.kext.. I may go to another graphics card (Geforce GT 240 512MByte).

    GeForce 8400 GS 1GB

This is what I have tried so fare at latest.. Built Software from scratch. installed Combo 10.6.6, Used MB{censored} usered UserDSDT, . Selected Chameleon2 RC5699 as recommended. Later installed NVidia Driver (3 units). & modified com.apple.boot.plist, No improvement on resolution. Then on top I installed CUDA driver. No change on resolution either (not sure if it makes sense to use both packages Driver and CUDA???). If you go to System -profiler it recognized the graphic card as Zotac Geforce 8400 GS 1GB from now on. Earlier I had only unknown card over therer. Now I have tried the next recommendation from you (Still have NVidia Driver (3 units) + CUDA ) : Installed NVinject (InsanelyMac Forum > Nvidia geforce 8400 GS) Not sure what I need to do to get the apple graphics update as written ther?? "I did the apple graphics update ,and then NVinject install. Changed in /System/Library/Extensions/NVInject.kext choose "Show Package Contents" Copy Info.plist" NVCAP Data : 04000000 00000300 04000000 00000007 00000000 (it's not very clear written how exactly to do this) But still no luck so fare, no change in resolution possible (1024x768). Used DPCIManager : even in System -profiler it "see" the right card type, DPCIManager just tells you "unknown device" Class Display Controller, SubClass VGA Compatible controller" and the number 10de:10c3 Not sure on how to continous from here. Thank you for any this to bring me out of the dark .-)) Copied form thread: DVI output needs NVCAP edit: 1- Right Click /System/Library/Extensions/NVInject.kext choose "Show Package Contents" Copy Info.plist to ~/Desktop 2- Open Info.plist copy with Plist Editor 3- Replace NVCAP string with 04000000 00000300 04000000 00000007 00000000 4- Save copy of info.plist and copy back to NVInject.kext contents. this is what I need to change : NVCAP Data : 04000000 00000300 04000000 00000007 00000000

    GeForce 8400 GS 1GB

I have installed Retail_256.01.00f03v5.dmg from the link you have given to me (cudadriver_3.2.17_macos.dmg). Then I copied the new com.apple.Boot.plist in my /Extra/ folder. Later I used Kext Utility to cure permission..done, restart of the computer. Unfortunately It's still the same. In my Monitor list I can select only 1024 x 768... If I go to Graphics/Monitor Unnown nVidia card: Chip modell Unknown nVidia card Type: GPU Bus: PCIe PCIe-Lane: x16 VRAM total: 1024MB Manufacture: NVIDIA (0x10de) UnitID: 0x10c3 Version ID: 0x00a2 Rom Version v1.0 Monitor Resolution 1024x768 .... Also I can find a new icon on the screen CUDA Driver Version: 3.2.17.. If I hit the button CUDA driver info & updates nothig will happen.. Later I tried the Retail_256.01.00f03v5.dmg package from a different Internet side (Retail_256.01.00f03v5.dmg) too. No luck so fare. Both packages could be very easy installed. Nothing I have to select or pick..since you have mention this: packages:Display Driver.pkg, OpenGL Driver.pkg, Video Driver.pkg. They are packed in Contents/Packages/ folder of NVidia Driver Package... I had some question marks if I'm on the right tree.. Any idea what I could try next?? Thanks again for your time!!

    GeForce 8400 GS 1GB

Thank you very much for your time. I'm using a 64-bit system. An the OS version is 10.6.6. Today I just went from scratch again, installed the system fresh to make sure all steps has been correctly approached. Regardless if I select MB{censored} NVEnabler or not - I still does not get more then 1024x768. Attached you can find my com.apple.Boot.plist, it should be the default version right after installation... <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <!DOCTYPE plist PUBLIC "-//Apple//DTD PLIST 1.0//EN" "http://www.apple.com/DTDs/PropertyList-1.0.dtd"> <plist version="1.0"> <dict> <key>Kernel</key> <string>mach_kernel</string> <key>Kernel Flags</key> <string></string> <key>GraphicsEnabler</key> <string>Yes</string> <key>Timeout</key> <string>1</string> <key>Legacy Logo</key> <string>Yes</string> <key>EthernetBuiltIn</key> <string>Yes</string> </dict> </plist>
