    This kext is for XFX Radeon 6570 [1002:6759] dual DVI + miniHDMI passive (HD-657X-ZNH3) card ONLY. There are other 6570 cards out there with different outputs and this kext WILL NOT WORK for them. Only thing modified in these kexts is Gibba framebuffer personality - now it supports both DVI ports with full hotplug ability. I haven't tested miniHDMI port as I don't use it. Use AtiConfig chameleon switch to select Gibba as your framebuffer at boot or in org.chameleon.boot.plist <key>GraphicsEnabler</key><string>Yes</string><key>AtiConfig</key><string>Gibba</string> EDIT: ***IMPORTANT*** It seems that this card works (properly) only with Chameleon versions up to 2210. Newer versions (2215 and up) just won't recognise the card and NO framebuffer personality is loaded (regardless of input type and/or number of displays) After reporting ^^this^^ to chameleon team (LINK), they were quick to react and found the bug - the patch is in the chameleon trunk now (commit r2243) ************************************ DIY guide for those who don't like installing downloaded kexts Mountain Lion - 10.8.3, 10.8.4 Hex changes to AMD6000Controller: DVI-SL port (0000030) - Transmitter (from 00 to 10) DVI-SL port (0000030) and HDMI port (0000020) switched SenseId number So, in AMD6000Controller we need to find this HEX sequence: 0400020000140200000001000000000305 and change it to: 0500020000140200000001000010000304 Personality: Gibba 0000000 00 04 00 00 04 03 00 00 00 01 00 00 12 04 05 01 0000010 00 04 00 00 04 03 00 00 00 01 00 00 22 05 04 02 0000020 00 08 00 00 04 02 00 00 00 01 00 00 11 02 06 04 0000030 00 02 00 00 14 02 00 00 00 01 00 00 00 00 03 05 0000040 04 00 00 00 04 02 00 00 00 01 00 00 11 02 01 03 to 0000000 00 04 00 00 04 03 00 00 00 01 00 00 12 04 05 01 0000010 00 04 00 00 04 03 00 00 00 01 00 00 22 05 04 02 0000020 00 08 00 00 04 02 00 00 00 01 00 00 11 02 06 05 0000030 00 02 00 00 14 02 00 00 00 01 00 00 10 00 03 04 0000040 04 00 00 00 04 02 00 00 00 01 00 00 11 02 01 03 Here's a perl script that will do this for you (Mountain Lion 10.8.3, 10.8.4): sudo perl -pi -e 's|\x04\x00\x02\x00\x00\x14\x02\x00\x00\x00\x01\x00\x00\x00\x00\x03\x05|\x05\x00\x02\x00\x00\x14\x02\x00\x00\x00\x01\x00\x00\x10\x00\x03\x04|g' /System/Library/Extensions/ATI6000Controller.kext/Contents/MacOS/AMD6000Controllersudo touch /System/Library/Extensions Snow Leopard - 10.6.8 Hex changes to ATI6000Controller: DVI-SL port (0000030) - Control flags (from 04 02 00 00 to 14 02 00 00) DVI-SL port (0000030) - Transmitter (from 00 to 10) DVI-SL port (0000030) and HDMI port (0000020) switched SenseId number And in ATI6000Controller (Snow Leopard) we need to find this HEX sequence: 0400020000040200000001000000000305 and change it to: 0500020000140200000001000010000304 Personality: Gibba 0000000 00 04 00 00 04 03 00 00 00 01 00 00 12 04 05 01 0000010 00 04 00 00 04 03 00 00 00 01 00 00 22 05 04 02 0000020 00 08 00 00 04 02 00 00 00 01 00 00 11 02 06 04 0000030 00 02 00 00 04 02 00 00 00 01 00 00 00 00 03 05 0000040 04 00 00 00 04 02 00 00 00 01 00 00 11 02 01 03 to 0000000 00 04 00 00 04 03 00 00 00 01 00 00 12 04 05 01 0000010 00 04 00 00 04 03 00 00 00 01 00 00 22 05 04 02 0000020 00 08 00 00 04 02 00 00 00 01 00 00 11 02 06 05 0000030 00 02 00 00 14 02 00 00 00 01 00 00 10 00 03 04 0000040 04 00 00 00 04 02 00 00 00 01 00 00 11 02 01 03 Perl script for Snow Leopard (10.6.8): sudo perl -pi -e 's|\x04\x00\x02\x00\x00\x04\x02\x00\x00\x00\x01\x00\x00\x00\x00\x03\x05|\x05\x00\x02\x00\x00\x14\x02\x00\x00\x00\x01\x00\x00\x10\x00\x03\x04|g' /System/Library/Extensions/ATI6000Controller.kext/Contents/MacOS/ATI6000Controllersudo touch /System/Library/Extensions More info and a guide at {censored}: http://goo.gl/SNGnqZ

    No description indeed
  5. Textmate2

Not working on Snow Leopard, error states it needs at least 10.7
  6. GA-P35-DS3L

I have upgraded my system and everything is just peachy with these files in both Lion and SnowLeopard (no need for mediafire AppleHDA from 10.6.8 you provided.) After removing NRP1 device and Notify (\_SB.PCI0.NRP1.PXS1, Zero) as you suggested I have installed 'exotic patch' by Netkas and my 4890 works great (with GraphicsEnabler=Yes.) BTW, your DSDT is perfect - my machine works better than ever. Have I thanked you already? Probably not nearly enough. Thanks again.
  7. GA-P35-DS3L

Thank you TimeWalker, I will upgrade this weekend and report here.
  8. GA-P35-DS3L

Also, I see some references ti nVidia in your DSDT. Could you tell me what to change or remove from it to make it work with a Radeon 4890? Apart from the GPU, I have the same machine (together with revision numbers)
  9. GA-P35-DS3L

Timewalker, thank you for your upload and a very informative description. Do you know if this AppleHDA will work for SnowLeopard systems? If not, what kind of AppleHDA do I need to go with your DSDT on 10.6.8?
