  1. let´s see... can you connect both the monitor to the vga output and other (a lcd tv or monitor) to you dvi output at same time and get working the two of them?
  2. did it. The EFI String inside the pack, (the one for my card, i mean geforce 8600 gt 512) didn,t load... But if I use the one generated by EFI Studio, I´vegot the correctr resolution with Q/CI enabled. Obviouslly, no posibility at all to connect the DVI port: same result: blank screen, reboot needed... I don´t want to give up, so La puta madre! But i´m now on the way to run an original fresh install and try. By the way, this is what i see at the PCI cards, Is it same as your? GeForce 8600 GT: Name: NVDA,Display-B Type: Display Controller Driver Installed: Yes MSI: Yes Bus: PCI Slot: Slot-1 Vendor ID: 0x10de Device ID: 0x0401 Subsystem Vendor ID: 0x1682 Subsystem ID: 0x0010 ROM Revision: 60.84.43.00.81 Revision ID: 0x00a1 Link Width: x16 Link Speed: 2.5 GT/s Just wanna know if we really share the same geforce card...
  3. well, i run a fresh install, only with the DVI connector, no dsdt, no efi string, iAtkos l1 and the Graphic Enabler at chameleon. No way for me to get the DVI port working: still having the black screen...nothing to watch... But when a I unplug the DVI connector and restart with vga, every thing is good, the card detected as nvidia geforce 8600 gt out of the box. I really hate my card, i´m sure its a hackintosh problem, cos in windows had no problem, so i can use the both port with no problem at all. ¿what can i do?
  4. kindder, i think you re right, i will try a fresh IAtkos L1 install with chameleon wizard. What do you mean with using "the DVI connector"? You mean that start the install only with dvi, not the vga output? Sorry for all of my questions...
  5. first of all, thanks kindder for your uploading and thanks ariksaja for all your support well, following the kyndder instructions under this tread: http://www.osx86.net/guides-tutorials/11570-tips-kexts-deviceid-s.html now i ve got my card working with no string and finally it appear at the pci card info this way: GeForce 8600 GT: Name: NVDA,Display-B Type: Display Controller Driver Installed: Yes MSI: Yes Bus: PCI Slot: Slot-1 Vendor ID: 0x10de Device ID: 0x0401 Subsystem Vendor ID: 0x1682 Subsystem ID: 0x0010 ROM Revision: 60.84.43.00.81 Revision ID: 0x00a1 Link Width: x16 Link Speed: 2.5 GT/s And into the Graphics/Dsiplay (system information) is shown this way: GeForce 8600 GT: Chipset Model: GeForce 8600 GT Type: GPU Bus: PCIe Slot: Slot-1 PCIe Lane Width: x16 VRAM (Total): 512 MB Vendor: NVIDIA (0x10de) Device ID: 0x0401 Revision ID: 0x00a1 ROM Revision: 60.84.43.00.81 Displays: L192WS : Resolution: 1440 x 900 @ 60 Hz Pixel Depth: 32-Bit Color (ARGB8888) Main Display: Yes Mirror: Off Online: Yes Rotation: Supported BUT when I plug the DVI output, still get the black screen and have to reboot and unplug it... Any idea? why i´m not lucky? Should i hit my card with a hammer and try again?
  6. hi, Kyndder, i´m trying your method but still no lucky. THis are my Ids: Vendor: NVIDIA (0x10de) Device ID: 0x0401 ¿did you add your device ID just to the NVDANV50Hall.kext or the geforce.kext and NVDAResman too? ¿would you mind uploading yours so i can try them?
  7. hi kindder, thanks for your help, cos i ve not tried yet to add the Device id to my NVDANV50Hal kext ¿that is the way you ve got both the vga and DVi working at same time? tell me thz again,
  8. Sorry, i forgot to mention that i changed the ACPI to 2.0 on my bios too. now i´ll read carefully the kyndder solution, hope it works... My boot loader it´s the latest chimera 1.6.0, what is yours?
  9. hi, my CUDA kext is loaded too. But if i don´t use EFI, there´s no way to get the card working. and thanks to you i discovered there´s no card in my pci card system profile, look the info i get: This computer doesn't contain any PCI cards. If you installed PCI cards, make sure they’re properly installed. wierd, isn´t?
  10. hey, take a look of my system: System Software Overview: System Version: Mac OS X 10.7.2 (11C74) Kernel Version: Darwin 11.2.0 Boot Volume: OSX Lion Boot Mode: Normal Computer Name: CastelarCity User Name: Castelar City (leopuoci) Secure Virtual Memory: Enabled 64-bit Kernel and Extensions: Yes Time since boot: 8 minutes I´m trying with the 64 bit kernel, not you. I think that is the problem....because the kexts loaded are same as yours, even the versions. (7.12.9) and here my graphic: Nvidia GeForce 8600 GT: Chipset Model: Nvidia GeForce 8600 GT Type: GPU Bus: PCIe PCIe Lane Width: x16 VRAM (Total): 512 MB Vendor: NVIDIA (0x10de) Device ID: 0x0401 Revision ID: 0x00a1 ROM Revision: Nvidia GeForce 8600 GT OpenGL Engine [EFI] Displays: L192WS : Resolution: 1440 x 900 @ 60 Hz Pixel Depth: 32-Bit Color (ARGB8888) Main Display: Yes Mirror: Off Online: Yes Rotation: Supported but when i plug the DVI, I get the black screen, and have to reboot and unplug the DVI output...
  11. good, that is what i did: i downloaded the nvidia installer, delete the string from the org.chameleon.boot.plist., install the nvidia, use Onix to clean cache aand repair permissions, and reboot. This way i get the system detect my card but only got 1024 x 768 resolution. And if a re-enter the string into the org.chameleon.boot I get the correct resolution but it blocks at users screen, and after that i ve got a white screen so i have to reboot and start again with the -x option. My system: MacOSX Lion 10.7.2 ( 11C74 ) Main board : ASUS P5KPL-AM Processor : 2.40 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo Memory : 3 GB 800 MHz DDR2 SDRAM VGA : XFX GeFORCE 8600 GT 512 mb With the nvidia kexts coming from Lion and the hex string from EFI studio it works almost perfect, but when i plug the dvi port...i get a black screen, and have to reboot because it freezes the system...that´s the problem... I tried all the possible solutions I got here and in other forums, but still no lucky...
  12. hi Ariksaja, but let me know how you exactly get your nviddia card working vith the dvi output. What i did was download your: 5.Nvidia update QUADRO MAC OS X DRIVER RELEASE 256 which u can direct download it here *TESTED* and used Pacifist to extract it and kext utility to install them, but got no lucky. ¿what´s wrong? Can you help me?
