  3. I have tried many times to install OS X on my home built PC without success. There have been a few different methods attempted with many different installation media. I have downloaded different 10.6 - 10.8 ISOs and DMGs. I have tried installing them from both DVD and USB. The results are always 1 of 2 possibilities. 1. Immediately after choosing my installation media from the BIOS boot menu, I receive a black screen with a cursor. 2. The OS X installer loads and, after choosing a language, I receive an error about reading the installation media. I have tried burning ISOs and DMGs in Windows. I have also tried loading them onto my USB with dd in linux and then adding some boot files that I found on the internet (I don't remember what or where from, sadly), but that produced the best result - result #2. I have also downloaded and burned iAtkos L2 to DVD and USB, with result #2. I am at a complete loss as to where to go from here. My computer specs are: Intel DH61CR Intel Core i5 Kingston 4GB PC1333 WD1600JS LG GH24NS90 DVD Burner GeForce 9800GT 1GB From what I have read, these specs should be acceptable. I have over 2 decades in the IT / Network engineering field, and plenty of experience at making things out of the ordinary work. However, I am sad to say that I haven't had the best results with this project. I also do not have a Mac available to make any installation media via one of those methods. I will have to use Windows or Linux. Any help here would certainly be greatly appreciated! Thomas Edit: Forgot to mention that I have tried SATA in IDE and AHCI mode.
  4. Hello, i've installed iDeneb 1.3 to my existing Windows 7 computer. I booted up with Empire EFI and got an error: System uptime in nanoseconds: 340826630 My System specs: Motherboard: MSI 870A-G54 CPU: AMD AthlonII X3 455 Graphics Chip: ATI Radeon HD 5450 Thank you for Helping!

Ah, seguem as configurações do meu PC. Operating System: Windows 7 Enterprise 64-bit (6.1, Build 7600) (7600.win7_gdr.120503-2030) System Manufacturer: Acer System Model: Aspire 5738 BIOS: Ver 1.00PARTTBL Processor: Intel?
Boot.plist: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <!DOCTYPE plist PUBLIC "-//Apple//DTD PLIST 1.0//EN" "http://www.apple.com/DTDs/PropertyList-1.0.dtd"> <plist version="1.0"> <dict> <key>EthernetBuiltIn</key> <string>Yes</string> <key>Kernel Flags</key> <string></string> <key>Legacy Logo</key> <string>Yes</string> <key>PCIRootUID</key> <string>1</string> <key>Quiet Boot</key> <string>Yes</string> <key>Timeout</key> <string>5</string> </dict> </plist> También el smbios.plist: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <!DOCTYPE plist PUBLIC "-//Apple//DTD PLIST 1.0//EN" "http://www.apple.com/DTDs/PropertyList-1.0.dtd"> <plist version="1.0"> <dict> <key>Copyright</key> <string>Apple Inc.</string> <key>SMbiosvendor</key> <string>Apple Inc.</string> <key>SMbiosversion</key> <string>??????????????????????????????</string> <key>SMboardproduct</key> <string>Mac-???????????????</string> <key>SMfamily</key> <string>MacBook Pro</string> <key>SMproductname</key> <string>MacBookPro5,2</string> <key>SMserial</key> <string>????????????????</string> </dict> </plist> También como no, el com.apple.Boot.plist: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <!DOCTYPE plist PUBLIC "-//Apple//DTD PLIST 1.0//EN" "http://www.apple.com/DTDs/PropertyList-1.0.dtd"> <plist version="1.0"> <dict> <key>EthernetBuiltIn</key> <string>Yes</string> <key>Kernel Flags</key> <string></string> <key>PCIRootUID</key> <string>1</string> </dict> </plist> He borrado los ficheros com.apple.network.identification.plist, NetworkInterfaces.plist, preferences.plist. También he borrado todas las interfaces desde el panel de control. He reiniciado y las he vuelto a generar. Nada de esto ha funcionado. Ya no se que mas hacer...

  9. I recently installed Snow Leopard on my pc with modcd, mac then windows 7. My mac partition had kernel panics, so I restored and tried again. Eventually it worked out well, but the easybcd boot menu shows chain booting error_ after I select snow Leopard from the menu. Anyone know how to fix this issue? I'm able to boot into mac with modcd at the moment.

  11. Hey guys, I've just recently joined the community, after lurking for a while on multiple Hackintosh related websites, and purchased myself a Snow Leopard retail disk to give it a go installing it on my custom pc. I followed Appliart's AMD guide (very well done btw) here on the forums to do my install, and I successfully installed Snow Leopard on my hard drive, following the guide perfectly, (using Legacy Kernel, AppleATIATA, VoodooHDA.) and booted into the desktop with no hitches. I first thought there was something wrong when I was greeted by no intro video (not sure if that means something), and no sound. I then went ahead hoping to fix it later on. I noticed that the suggested Chameleon bootloader wasn't changing my com.apple.boot.plist to org.chameleon.boot.plist on the first install, which was giving me the depreciated error on my first boot, so I went ahead and reinstalled Snow Leopard a second time; this time taking the liberty to use the latest Chimera to install my bootloader, which changed my com.apple.boot.plist successfully. I thought I was in the clear at this point, and I rebooted, took out ModCD, and watched as the Chimera install of Chameleon booted my pc. When I got to the Apple logo, it stayed on my screen for over a half hour, and would not boot into the OS. I am still able to boot in with my ModCD, but thats it. I have also changed my SATA settings to AHCI, changed my suspend mode to S1 (POS), and checked to make sure C1E support is disabled. If anyone can give me some further direction on what to do, that would be greatly appreciated. My Specs are Mobo: Biostar A870 AMD Chipset CPU: AMD Athlon II 3.2Ghz x3 Rana 450 Video Card: ATI HD3850 RAM: GSKILL RIPJAWS X 8GB (4096MBx2) DDR3 1333
  12. I am getting the Boot0: Error and I have tried to boot from disk but the apple boot screen wont go away. The loading circle just keeps on spinning and spinning and nothing will happen. I have already changes the windows partition to active and added the Mac OS entry to the (windows) bootloader with EasyBCD. Please help.
  13. So Ive been recently trying to get my system up to lion from snow. Everythign seems to work rather well until I hit the 10.7.2 update. I am not really good at debugging but I included a snap shot when I boot with -v -f. Of course, under normal boot will just get stuck in a reset loop. Any help would be great. 16. Hello, I have an issue when i try to boot into OS x, i think it's a problem with shutting down. When i'm shutting down, everything looks normal.. and my laptop powers off (ofcourse. Ghehe) But, the next time i want to boot my system, it goes into the bootloader, and after that i get the gray screen with the apple logo. And then it happens: I'm getting a gray box in my screen wich tells me to hold-down my power button until my laptop shuts off, and after that i have to push the button again so it powers on. The second time he's booting normal, and no errors or anything else. I think the problem is when i'm shutting down the OS x system. (Maybe he is shuttding down the wrong way or something?). Does anyone have a solution for this?. *Sorry for my bad english again. EDIT: I'm running iAktos. Snow Leopard, version: 10.6.8
  17. Hi, I have Installed Lion 10.7.1 in computer, everything is working awesome. I used to have so drives attached to this computer and I decide to reattached them to the Mobo. When I try to boot the computer, I get this weird error before iB{censored} shows up. It says Ebios read Error 0x7465C412b Sector 0, then eventually it will boot up. If I unplugged those drives, the computer boots fine, (doesn't show the error at all). This drives use to be running in windows 7 x64bits as storage drives, nothing else. One of the drives are 2TB and the other one is 160GB. Any suggestions? Thanks NOTE: Im using chimera 1.5.4 r1394 and use MB{censored} to install, etc...
  18. Problem: How to install a correct NVDANV50Hal.kext in OSX86 10.6.7 to fix associated error message.? UPDATE: SOLVED. A summary of the Problem, Attempts to Fix,Solution etc. at POST #13 below I keep getting the error message: "The system extension "/System/Library/Extensions/NVDANV50HAL.kext" was installed improperly and cannot be used. Please try reinstalling it, or contact the product's vendor for an update." So I downloaded NVDANV50HAL.KEXT from this kexts.com website and attempted to install it to system/library/extensions using kext helper. It seems to install OK. I then reboot. I get the same error message again. I performed the various "fixes" posted on the internet for this problem. None eliminated the error message. Then I examined and compared my original NVDANV50HAL.kext, info.plist [the version that gives the error message and the NVDANV50HAL.kext, info.plist I downloaded from this web site. These 2 kext versions are different in an important section. These 2 NVDANV50HAL.KEXT versions also have different CFBundle Version numbers, CFBundleGetInfoString numbers and other different"version" IDs". Original [old] NVDANV50HAL.kext has a section: <key>IOPCIMatch</key> <string>0x000010de&0x0000ffff</string> Downloaded [new] NVDANV50HAL.kext omits that section and replaces it with: <key>IOPCIPrimaryMatch</key> <string> 0x0be310de&0xfff0ffff 0x10c310de&0xfff0ffff 0x00f010de&0xfff0ffff 0x019010de&0xfff0ffff 0x040010de&0xfff0ffff 0x042010de&0xfff0ffff 0x05e010de&0xfff8ffff 0x05f010de&0xfff0ffff 0x060010de&0xffe0ffff 0x062010de&0xffe0ffff 0x064010de&0xffe0ffff 0x06e010de&0xfff0ffff 0x086010de&0xffe0ffff 0x08a010de&0xffe0ffff 0x0a2010de&0xffa0ffff 0x0ca010de&0xffe0ffff </string> The Original [old] NVDANV50HAL kext version doesn't have the section [listing video card IDs]. This is the section where folks say to add IDs for Graphic cards that are not fully recognized by the Hackintosh. Typically when the cards are not fully/correctly recognized QE/CI doesn't work and maximum resolution doesn't work. Can anyone help me successfully install the downloaded NVDANV50HAL kext version and thus eliminate the NVDANV50HAL error? Can anyone explain what is going on with these 2 different kext versions? Note: After I install the downloaded version of NVDANV50HAL.kext [and reboot] the info.plist LOOKS RIGHT. It has the long list of card IDs in IOPCIPrimaryMatch section.
