  1. Hello folks, I need help getting this install to work. I used N{censored} 10.7.3 installed fine, but could never boot up. I've tried many versions; iAtkos, Kalaway, iDeneb, Hazard. All fails. I may have got one to boot up (it was a leopard version) however wifi didn't work, nor did ethernet. So that was a useless install. I've burned so many different versions I don't even remember which one got me to the actual operating system. But, it was like 1 out of 30 disks. Yes, I've burned that many. :X no joke. I have about 10 disks left out of a 50 pack. I have to buy some more. Here are the specs Part Number:LX.RJW02.007 General Packaged Quantity 1.0 System Type Notebook OS Provided Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit Edition Notebook type Budget, Midsize, HD display Processor / Chipset CPU Intel Pentium P6100 / 2.0 GHz Number of Cores Dual-Core Cache L3 cache - 3.0 MB 64-bit Computing Yes Chipset Mobile Intel HM55 Express Memory RAM 4.0 GB Max RAM Supported 8.0 GB Technology DDR3 SDRAM Speed 1066.0 MHz / PC3-8500 Form Factor SO DIMM 204-pin Slots Qty 2 Storage Hard Drive 500.0 GB HDD / 5400.0 rpm Interface Serial ATA-300 Optical Drive DVD±RW (±R DL) / DVD-RAM - Fixed Display Type 15.6 in LCD Backlight Technology LED backlight Max Resolution 1366 x 768 ( HD ) Widescreen Yes Image Aspect Ratio 16:9 Features CineCrystal Audio & Video Graphics Processor Intel HD Graphics Memory Allocation Technology Dynamic Video Memory Technology 5.0 Camera Yes Sound Stereo speakers , Microphone Input Type Keyboard, Touchpad Features Multi-gesture touch pad Communications Wireless 802.11n Network Interface 10/100 Ethernet Battery Technology 6-cell Lithium ion Capacity 4400.0 mAh AC Adapter Voltage Required AC 120/230 V ( 50/60 Hz ) Output 65.0 Watt , 19 V , 3.42 A Connections & Expansion Expansion Bays None Interfaces LAN Memory Card Reader 2 in 1 card reader Software Software Included Windows Live Essentials, Microsoft Office 2010 Starter, Bing Toolbar Microsoft Office Preloaded Includes a pre-loaded image of select Microsoft Office 2010 suites. Purchase an Office 2010 Product Key Card or disc to activate preloaded software on this PC. Dimensions & Weight Width 15.0 in Depth 10.0 in Height 1.3 in Weight 5.7 lbs With these specs in hand can you guys recommend the proper Install disk. There's a million out there to choose from. I'd like a solid copy that would have the highest probability of working with my laptop. I'll give the recommended copy a try, if it fails, I'll post screens of the errors for further guidance. iDeneb corrupted my whole computer so I have nothing on it except the outstanding Linux Mint. So, I can't post past errors as I don't have any other operating system other than Linux at the moment. Any help would be so much appreciated.
  2. After spending weeks trying to get the Broadcom wired device in my Acer 5733Z to working on Lion, I bit the bullet and upgraded to Mountain Lion. Now my Broadcom wired device is working fine and I can't for the life of me get the AR9285 wireless working. I have tried each and every kext on this site that I could find without resolution. Here are the specs on my system: Thank you in advance for your assistance. If additional information is required, please let me know.
