  1. I have decided to install Mac OS X Mavericks yet again on another laptop. This time on an Compaq Presario F577CL. I used the N{censored} Mavericks Distro and install it that way. When it finished installing I had to reboot it because it was stuck on "Installation Finished." The log showed that it was a bug in that menu/screen/or something that was supposed to show up simply just didn't and never did. After getting it to boot and using the -v -f and using the USB flash drive I used, I got to the setup wizard and after setting it up I was ready to install kexts. The only card that the laptop has as far as I know, is an integrated Nvidia GeForce 6100. Someone on OSX86.net has for download an nv_enabler, but apparently someone stated that it was for Snow Leopard and it just doesn't work like it should on Lion and later. I tried installing Snow Leopard, to use this kext, but that didn't work. Link to the nv_enabler I was talking about: After searching more, I have found this which has like a list of ID's and one of them is the GeForce 6100. Don't know if it's the same as GeForce Go 6100, but I don't know how to use/install/or do anything with it. So far, it seems that you... Chose a kext for Nvidia cards and change the ID? 2. Hello all, Here are my system specs: Mobo: ASUS Sabertooth Z97 Mark 1 CPU: Intel 4790K GPU: Nvidia Geforce GTX 980 reference model, on water RAM: 16GB 1600 MHz 512 GB Samsung 850 Pro SSD (OS X) 256 GB Samsung 850 Pro SSD (Win7 64bit) Monitor: LG 31MU97 I am having problems with my GPU(or at least I think the GPU is the problem). I am using DisplayPort to connect to my LG monitor. It is very important that I use the DisplayPort connection. I need the 4k resolution at 60 Hz at pretty much all times for the work I will be doing. Therefore HDMI wont cut it. The problem I am having, however, I believe lies with the DisplayPort. Just as an example, whenever I boot to BIOS I get a horribly distorted image(see image below). Whereas if I use HDMI, there is no distortion. As you can see from the specs above, my system is a Hackintosh, but up until now I haven't really used the OS X drive much. So much of my explanation pertains to my experience while in Windows 7, although when testing out OS X I had many of the same problems. It was not very easy setting up my GPU when I first got it. After I installed the drivers and essentials for operation, and plugged into the monitor via DisplayPort, the image on the screen was distorted and stuck on a nasty resolution of 640x480. I was able to quickly fix this by creating a custom resolution at 4096x2160 in the Nvidia Control Panel. However, the Nvidia Control Panel actually still recommends the 640x480 resolution for my 4k monitor for some reason, but only when I am plugged in via DisplayPort. When plugged in via HDMI it picks up 4k resolutions with no problem(but only at up to 24 Hz). I am not sure if there is something I can do to make the card automatically identify the LG monitor as a 4k monitor and not have to rely on software. At present I am not sure if there is anything actually wrong with the card, or if it may even be the monitor. I have no other DisplayPort monitors to test it on at the moment. So I need help figuring out a solution to this. Ive re-flashed the BIOS for the GPU with no result, but other than that I'm not really sure what I should do. Any help is appreciated. Thanks in advance! Distorted BIOS - DisplayPort->GTX 980 Not Distorted BIOS - HDMI->GTX 980 Nvidia Control Panel with HDMI Connection Nvidia Control Panel with DisplayPort Connection

  9. Dear, ? I have installed Mac OS X Mavericks on my hackintosh laptop (BTO S97V). My screen worked very good in Snow leopard (10.6.8), but in Mavericks, my PC crashes all the time. ? The specifications (are not quite right at the processor speed etc.): MacBook Pro (4,1) ? These are a couple of things the screen is showing, when it is going crazy: ? When I start my PC, and login to Mavericks, the screen right away is doing and showing strange things. First of all I can work on the PC, but I see well, a kind of 'color snow'. That 'color snow' is showing everywhere on the screen. ? After that snow, the screen starts showing things as above in the picture and then completely freezes. I can move the mouse for a couple of seconds, but after that, I can't do a thing and I am forced to shut the laptop down (hard reset). ? Does anybody have similar problems with this videocard in combination with Mavericks? Or can somebody tell me if I can do anything about it? ? Thanks in advance, ? Kind regards, ? EvilID
  10. Well, now I've got unlocked the BIOS on my ASUS x53sv laptop and I am able to shut down Intel graphics from there, is there any news about getting the geforce GT 540M work? ? thanks in advance
  11. Hi guys! I'm having two big problems, first, I'm sorry if already another topic about this (I've been really searching solution for it, for 3 days), I'm sorry too if the category for topic is wrong, and if I make a mistake in the text (my english is weak)

First my hardware: AMD Athlon II x2, MB Gigabyte GA-M68MT-S2P, 4gb DDR3, VGA Asus GeForce GT630 2gb

So I recently installed the Mavericks 10.9.0 by N{censored} distro on the hardware above? in a 160gb SATA HDD with GPT, during the installation I kept all the others HDDs disconnected Now the problems: In the first boot I look the first problem, it does not found an ethernet card, but I proceed with the configuration, when the OS is running, using another PC I search for a kext to my realtek ethernet, I found it in this link: http://www.N{censored}12495.com/files/file/83-realtek-816968-for-maverick-109-1091/, but I tried to install this with 3 methods, using "Kext Utility", using "Kext Helper", and coping manually to /System/Library/Extensions, but after reboot nothing happens like if had not installed anything, in one reboot, it returned me an error dialog: After I fixed permissions with EFIStudio, this error apparently stopped (but I guess this information is important) But after all attempts, it's not working, see this link to look two other errors: http://i.imgur.com/VvqG8zO.png ? The second problem is with my video card, I installed following this topic: http://www.osx86.net/files/file/3566-new-109-nvidia-gt-630-native-lastest-driver/ but identically to the above, after installed, nothing happens ? Here, some screenshots at the installation process, as I said before, I tried to install the video kext with the three ways, although have only one screenshot when I tried to install with the Kext Utility: http://i.imgur.com/35c2ahn.png ? And here, two screenshots of my boot.plist: http://i.imgur.com/ljyvAxp.png ? Well, I'm sorry that the topic was gigantic, and thanks if someone can help me

  14. Hello, I would greatly appreciate it if someone could direct me to where I might find a solution to the following issue. After installing ML2 onto my Sony Vaio VPCL116FX, I noticed that some images and animations will flicker. I would assume it is because my GPU is not properly installed. However, I have been unable to locate the appropriate drivers and during installation the NVIDIA 10.8 Apple drivers caused boot issues. I have a NVIDIA GeForce GT240M installed. I would greatly appreciate any advice. Thank you in advance for your time. Best Regards, Adam
  15. Hi, ok this is going nowhere. My problem is that I can't use my mac ML 10.8.2 installed in vmware very well. Cause my mac only shows that This is my hardware overview. Yes that's not right, I have atleast 2gb of vram in my GeForce 9500gt. Can someone help me I'm still a newbie to this and my first time using MAC cause I need it for learning ruby. Maybe I did something wrong or I don't know. Read every post out there that has 9500 involved in it and tried everything that worked for them but sadly it didn't work for me..
  16. Hey Now, Specs: ASRock H61M/U3S3 Intel i5-2400 3.10 GHz LGA1155 4 GB GSkill 1333 MHz DDR3 RAM GeForce NVidia GTS 450 PCIe 1024MB GDDR5 2x Acer S220HQL DVI Monitors Current Status: Bios set to PCIe display, 1024MB Memory Chameleon v2.2 r2170 plist in Champlist v3.2.240 with the following settings: Boot Graphics=Yes Graphics Mode = 1600x900x32 Graphics Enabler = Yes UseNvidiaRom = Yes I can only get 1280x800 with a black border around my desktop on one monitor and no options in my System Preferences -> Displays. Both "Best for Display" and "Scaled" only get me 1280x800. I have the mirroring option enabled but the 2nd monitor gets no signal. Goal: I'd like to get one desktop spanning both monitors (I had this under Lion with a different card) at the highest resolution possible. ==================== I've read that the GTS450 should work OTB and I've tried different driver combinations to no avail.
  17. Hello, I have some problems getting a Gigabyte Geforce GTX460 1GB working on my setup. My Mainboard is a ASUS M4A87TD EVO with a AMD Phenom II X3 3,21 GHZ on it. I have been able to install OSX 10.6.3 Retail using ModCD and the legacy kernel, Audio is only working atm with AzaliaAudio but the graphics support seems more essential to me. I am using Chameleon 2.0 RC5 as bootloader. After the 10.6.3 install I successfully updated to 10.6.8 using the comoupdate followed by the 10.6.8 legacy kernel. So the main installation is fully bootable but with shitty graphics. So far I have tried to inject graphics using the following methods: GraphicsEnabler=yes with only kernelpanics. Original NVIDIA Cuda Drivers in combination with NVEnabler with the system booting in 1080p but the graphics acceleration not working 100 % because the top bar is not transparent. Also I read some Topics about adding the Hardware ID to some kexts but have not been able to do that because it was kind of hard to understand the information that was given. So any Help on this topics would be appreciated as I plan to get this System running nice and publish information about my experience with this particular mainboard etc. to some wikis, eventually doing a guide also. Greets from germany!

    GeForce 8400GS

PNY GeForce 8400GS 512mb PCI. (Not PCIe) I just recently installed SL on my dell dimension 3000. At first it didnt boot right so I tried booting safe mode (-x) then i messed around with these GeForce.kext, NVDANV50Hal.kext, NVDAResman.kext. now i could finally boot in regular but the graphics is still not installed correctly. i was kinda thinking that i should switch drivers from nvenabler to nvinject cause when i had leopard nvinject seemed to work. But how do you switch NVEnabler to NVInject?
  25. Hi everyone! I just installed SL 10.6.8 using nawcom bootcd & kernel and retail 10.6.3. Updated it to 10.6.8. Everything works just fine, except video. I added GraphicsEnabler=yes flag and now I can change resolutions, dual monitor mode works and I definitely have hardware acceleration — menu bar is semi-transparent and so on. But I have problems running games (tried Half-Life 2 and Quake 3) and, for example, applying some filters in Photo Booth. Applications just crash. One more observation — OpenGL acceleration in Photoshop CS5 works really slow — I had to turn it off. My configuration is as follows: Athlon X4 3.0 GHz, Asus M4A785T-M, 4 Gb DDR3, Asus GeForce 210 512 Mb, two 19" 1280x1024 panels, SL 10.6.8 Settings applied: GraphicsEnabler=yes, legacy_kernel, -force64 (tried disabling it), arch=i386 and busratio=15 (fixes sound problems). Also tried installing nVidia official drivers. Any thoughts?
