  1. Hi folks, I'm working on a spec for a first Hackintosh build and I'm unsure of a few things so any advice/help/suggestions would be appreciated. The following is the proposed spec and my wonderments... btw, I'm based in Ireland so buying from Komplett as all items can be delivered in one shipment. Therefore I am limited to what they have in stock. (Amazon suggesting 5 different shipments and some have to go via parcel motel as cannot ship to Ireland direct - PITA). • I am unsure if the RAM will work with the MoBo as the mobo is Z370 and RAM spec says the "form factor is optimized for the latest Intel X99 Series motherboards". • I am unsure if the GPU is compatible with the MoBo as the GPU RAM is GDDR6. Also wondering if it will work with OSX as the MSI version is not listed on Tmx86. I plan on installing 10.13.6 High Sierra. • I am hoping not to have to buy a monitor as I already have an Apple 27" Thunderbolt (2) Display. I also have 2 other T2 external HDs and I'm wondering how to connect these up to the Hackintosh? Anyone have experience with this? 10TB in total so be a shame to loose them. • Finally, is 750W enough power? 4. I recently installed Snow Leopard on my AMD hackintosh with 8gb RAM but found that if I booted without limiting my RAM to 4gb (with "maxmem=4096") 32bit apps such as Google Chrome would crash as soon as I clicked the icon with the message "APP NAME has quit unexpectedly" After literally weeks of searching I have finally solved the problem so thought that I would post a guide here. First of all you will need to download the "AMD INSN Patcher" which is available from here (osx86.net) or here (original source) and extract the zip file to somewhere, I simply put it on the desktop. Then open a terminal and change to the directory that contains the files from the zip (if on desktop, type cd Desktop/amd_insn_patcher/) Now enter the following commands pressing enter after each one and entering your password if prompted: sudo ./amd_insn_patcher /System/Library/QuickTime/QuickTimeComponents.component/Contents/MacOS/QuickTimeComponents /System/Library/QuickTime/QuickTimeComponents.component/Contents/MacOS/QuickTimeComponents sudo ./amd_insn_patcher /usr/lib/libSystem.B.dylib /usr/lib/libSystem.B.dylib sudo ./amd_insn_patcher /usr/lib/dyld /usr/lib/dyld Once you have done this reboot the system without limiting the RAM with "maxmem." All your RAM should be recognised and 32bit apps will now work! I hope this helps.
  5. Hello guys. well basically i am a sound designer and a producer. i work allot with Cubase and also work quite a bit with Photoshop. i want to install OSX Lion on my MSI GE620 and i think there may be a few problems. My specs: Intel Core i7 2630QM, 8GB Ram (going to give me a hard time installing right?) 640GB HDD and Nvidia GT 540M. now i know the GPU is going to screw things up for me but is there a way to disable it and switch to the onboard HD3000?? if so, what are the downsides of doing this and is there a way to avoid them? will i have a problem with things such as the thumb pad, wireless internet or camera for example? (drivers etc.) thanks allot!
