  1. Hi, so i have been running my Hackintosh for nearly 2 years. Over that time i have added & updated my hardware to get all features of a proper Mac. My serial number & longer serial board number have stayed the same & my smbios has always been set to a Mac Pro 3,1 With my Native Bluetooth/WIFI Combo card i have had all features working: HandOff, Continuity, SMS Relay, Personal Hotspot etc. So when the new MacOS Sierra comes out my setup will be able to run all of the new features, i have an iPhone 6 & an Apple Watch Sport. The problem is my SMBIOS is Mac Pro (Early 2008) which is not listed as supported, so what would be the best way/process to update my SMBIOS. I'm familiar with Clover Configurator but what would be the best/ most compatible SMBIOS to choose? Newer iMac? Newer Mac Pro? (I'm almost sure to be able to access the Nvidia Webdrivers for my GeForce GTX 960 i have to choose a Mac Pro). Will using Clover Configurator to change my SMBIOS & serial number then simply doing a reboot be enough or could it cause problems, as in security issues, i remember from the past i did this a few times and in verbose boot it would say about iTunes DRM? I also have the newer 2 Factor Authentication setup on my iPhone 6 & Hackintosh. Should i do a fresh install with the new SMBIOS & Serial Number then pull my user account info from the time machine backup on post install (When setting up a user account)? My specs are below. Thanks in advance for any advice help. OSX version: OS X El Capitan 10.11.5 (15F34) Clover version: Clover 3556 Theme: Apple Style Clover installations: UEFI + PartitionDxe + Aptratiofix2 CPU: Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-3570K CPU @ 3.40GHz RAM: 16GB 1333 MHz DDR3 Motherboard: Gigabyte Z77-DS3H Audio-Onboard: ALC887 GPU : NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960 2GB Mac Model(Smbios): Mac Pro 3,1 Boot flags(Arguments): dart=0 nvda_drv=1 kext-dev-mode=1 rootless=0 WIFI/Bluetooth : BRCM20702 Hub (Combo Card made for an iMac)
  2. Hi, ? the last few days I tried to improve the performance of my Hackintosh. Now I wanted to enable proper SpeedStep and got a problem with my SMBIOS. I had the MacPro3,1 definition running until now, but to enable SpeedStep I wanted to try the Macmini5,3 definition. The problem is that as soon as I set the definition in Clover I get stuck on booting at: AppleLPC::start - Could not find IOPlatformPlugin driver. The strange thing is, that my X86PlatformPlugin.kext got no definitions in it.? ? Do you think the error could be related to that and what could I do to resolve the issue? ? Thanks in advance
  3. I remark that when I change smbios my CPUPackageCore change too, for example when I use MacMini6,2 ?my minimum CPUPackageCore in idle is 0,14W whereas others like MacBookPro 9,2 my minimum in idle is 0,21 I remarked too a increasement of batery life in macmini6,2. ? my question is what is the best smbios for better energy save, please?

  5. Version 1.0

    238 downloads

Complete /Extra folder with patched DSDT with Dual link support (1600x900), SSDT, SMBIOS and org.chameleon.boot.plist. DSDT extracted from latest bios 5ECN96WW Of course additional kexts are needed to proper boot (AppleACPIPlatform etc.) otherwise only safe mode works.
  6. Hi guys, First of all I know this is a common issue. But every solution I found here did not fix my computer. Im not able to access icloud, imessage, facetime and appstore. My configuration: Asus P6X58E - PRO, i7 950 and a GTX 460, 1 HD 2T Seagate Barracuda SATA and Tp-link Tl-wdn4800. First I tried to use the EFI studio editor, I edit my chameleon.Boot.plist but after that I got a black screen and my computer did not boot. So i have to remove the <key>device-properties</key><string></string> via terminal then I was able to boot again. So I tried to update Chameleon and use the iMessage Fix solution with this, but my computer just boot with safe mode. Also I noticed this: Any ideas? thanks in advance.
  7. Hi guys, I have a problem in my bios and boot screen because it shows low resolution when i changed my video card to a new one. I even reformatted the drive and it still did not solve the problem. My board is Intel DG45ID and i have a video card GTX 550 Ti. My previous card was NVIDIA 8800GT. I also did a reset on the cmos by removing the battery thinking it will solve the issue but still it did not. When i try to put the DVI to the built in DVI of my motherboard, the boot screen and bios screen is in full screen. By the way i have 10.7.2 Lion. I even placed graphics mode at 1920x1080 but still no luck. Anyone know how to solve this issue? Thanks!!!
  8. ATENTION! This guide is already outdated, you must read to know what you are doing, but, to properly set your SMBios options, use Chameleon Wizard instead of Lizard > http://www.osx86.net/downloads.php?do=file&id=2440 Hy People! As time goes by, the developers of the world are implementing Hackintosh improvements that we can add to the bootloader to increase performance of our machine. But if our settings are not correct, we can not enjoy this improvement. One of those responsible for increasing the performance of the machine is the file "smbios.plist", that when used with the bootloader and a DSDT file with all the patches needed to your "Motherboard", can offer a machine very close and sometimes even better than one Real Mac (in comparing the performance of the OS and not the hardware itself and Design) and provide better power management. In order to let our machines better and better, I'm creating this topic to learn how create the file "smbios.plist" and let our Hack the closest our settings allow it to resemble an original Mac. To begin, we will need a free app called Mactracker you can download from the link below ... Mactracker - Get Info on any Mac As you can see, it has a comprehensive database of all Mac models released to the atual date ... The first thing we need to do is find a model that comes closest to our configurations, that are, Processor Type, Processor Speed ??and FSB processor. In my case, I use the specifications for a MacPro3,1 Early 2008. For machines with Core i3, 5 or 7 the models that should be used are MacBookPro 15" Mid 2010, iMac 27" Late 2009, MacPro Mid 2010 or later models. After finding the closest model to yours, you will need Lizard by sonotone to create your file "smbios.plist." Lizard (unofficial) - Downloads - Kexts.com Once you download, run the app and go to tab "SMBIOS Options" and fill in the information according to that obtained from Mactracker. In "Boot ROM Version", if it does not automatically generate a number, use a similar setup and then just change the opening sequence in the file as in the examples below ... MacMini 2,1= MM21... MacBook 5,1= MB51? MacBook Air 2,1= MBA21? MacBook Pro 5,1= MBP51? MacPro 3,1= MP31... The "SMBIOS Version" don`t need to be changed. In the "Serial Number", click the "Build It" button and will appear a window like the example below ... Complete the required fields and only in the "Year", set one year from the date of manufacturing and introduction of your model ... In the "Bios Date", use the same concept as stated above for the "Year". The last step is the memory settings ... Fill out the fields according to your memory settings ... Finally, click "Save" ... If you don`t have, create this key in your com.apple or org.chameleon.Boot.plist on /Extra folder... If you have doubts on modifying the file > http://www.kexts.com/guides-tutorials/10747-guide-chameleon-bootloader-basics.html <key>SMBIOS</key> <string>/Extra/smbios.plist</string> Or if you prefer, still in Lizard, go to "Boot Options / Custom Paths / smbios.plist / Select" and navigate to the file "smbios.plist" that you just created ... Okay, now is just restart the machine and see if the information was read correctly, for that, go to "Apple Logo / About This Mac / More Info / Hardware" As I said , this is not the only thing that will increase the performance of your machine, however, it`s a good start ... Bye. Original topic made ??by me on HMBT Forum
