  2. Hello. I upgraded to 10.6.8 and now my graphic is broken :-( after upgrading, my hackintosh booted until "DSMOS ARRIVED" and then restarted. After many hours i found out, that NVDANV50Hal.kext was the reason for this. i deleted it and was now able to boot in vesa mode. i tried NVinject.kext, EFI-Strings and many other drivers etc... The Card was detected but not running in higher resolutions than 1024x768 and QE/CI don´t really work... after installing the IOPCIFamily.kext and the AppleACPI*.kext, i was able to boot with the original Nvidia kexts an my display showed native resolution! but instead of the usual desktop, there was a mixture of red and blue colors :-( i think it is not a big deal to fix that, but i don´t know where to start maybe change a few strings in IOPCIFamily od NVDANV50.kext ? Thanks in advance
  3. Greetings to everyone. My first encounter with hackintosh was using Empire EFI to install SL from my retail 10.6 DVD, i installed it, manage to get an alc888 kext that would enable optical-out and got my graphics card (an ASUS gtx260) to work perfectly fine. Fast forward and after a few updates...im now stuck with the following problems: I had to format my Hackintosh hard drive, i've browsed around to get EmpireEFI again only to discover that the author of it now recommends NAWCOM bootCD (or BootUSB, which i opted for), i managed to install the same SL retailDVD on my system using nawcom, which auto-detects hardware and installs the appropriate kexts for'em. Now, SL 10.6 boots with sound (no optical out) and NO graphics support (the resolution is low and no QE/QI are enabled).... i updated to 10.6.6 using the combo update found on the apple site. After restarting, the OS booted normally, no errors, no panics. But still, i get sound, i get all my devices and usb/FW ports 100% working, minus my graphics card. I cant seem to get the system to recognize my graphics card and let me change resolution and run Quartz-requiring applications, such as final-cut pro (which is the main reason i need a hackintosh). I browsed around, people sometimes wrote i should try "GraphicsEnabler=yes"...i did, nothing changed...i downloaded the Nvidia drivers which were found on the 10.6.5 update already, no change. And on top of all that, the nawcomBOOTusb method causes my mobo to give me a very alarming warning everytime i restart from my SL installation... "POST load fail"...and then it asks me to choose a recently working version of it. I'm stuck and VERY confused as to what is best as a procedure for me to install SL on my system. I'm also VERY confused as to what "EFI STRINGS" are and "DST" and NATIT and NVEnabler are.... I Tried "lizard"...which makes no difference (for the graphics card), and MB{censored} makes no difference whatsoever when setting the desired resolution etc. If my system composition is not compatible with let's say 10.6.5 or 10.6.6, i dont mind running 10.6.1-2 or 3 as long as everything works fine like it was before. (i cant seem to get 10.6 as it was before) Again, i know there are many ways of doing stuff and installing devices, what im looking for is a procedure that would be most appropriate for the system specs below. I Would really appreciate some help, thnx! (system composition follows) MoBo: Gigabyte EX54-UD4 Chipset: X58 Cpu: i940 (factory speed, not overclocked) Ram: 6 GB ram GPU: Asus Nvidia GTX 260 Trying to install SL on a dedicated SATA Hard drive, dual booting with win7 which lies on another Hard Drive. Bios Settings: All Hard drive settings set to AHCI, Thermal monitor for cpu DISABLED. SL Source: Original Retail SL DVD 10.6 Thank you for your precious time!
