  1. Hello, All about my pc. Now, can you guys inform me that can I install Mac OSX Yosemite on my PC ? Is it comfortable ? Thanks, BaapJaan.
  2. Hi, I recently update to Yosemite, I feel that boot up slower than Mountain Lion, I recorded the boot in verbose mode. Please, anyone can help me? I see too many error messages, and load too many kext. ? Thanks! ?
  3. Setup : ? Raspberry Pi connected headless via Ethernet to Macbook Pro 2011 connected to Wifi network. ? Issues : ? Unable to ping Mac bridge0 interface, cannot pass traffic from Ethernet over Wifi, cannot ping bridge0, cannot modify netmask of bridge0.? ? Prior Troubleshooting : ? First, I am able to ssh to the Raspberry Pi from the Mac. Before Yosemite, I ran a bridged connection between the Pi and Macbook. On the Mac side, I enabled ipfw and was able to forward internet traffic from the Pi to the Mac, from the Mac to the Pi, etc.? ? Given that ipfw is now removed, I have added rules to pf.anchors and created a ruleset to forward traffic to/from the lo0 (localhost) over certain ports, but this fails. I have tried modifying the rdr pass rules to specify bridge0, en0, and en1 respectively. ? bridge0 no longer functions as a FreeBSD bridge. ? My biggest issue with this so far is that bridge0 has for some reason been assigned as a thunderbolt-bridge, which it was not, technically, in my machine prior to yosemite. Bond0 used to be assigned as the thunderbolt-bridge, the collection of default interfaces as members accessible through command line, by editing the XML, or through X-Code. Now it is true that these assignments, once modified in either terminal (does not recognize timestamp) or X-Code (unable to modify unless "unlocked") default to presets upon restart. <-- In other words, I cannot reassign the bridge0 to any interface specifications. So, off to ifconfig. No Problem. ? By default Bridge0 initializes recognizing en2, thunderbolt, as a member. So, let's remove that interface and add Ethernet and Wifi. ? Running: ? ifconfig bridge0 deletem en2 #removes thunderbolt as bridge member ifconfig bridge0 addm en0 addm en1? ifconfig bridge0 up ifconfig bridge0 ifconfig bridge0 broadcast ? I am unable to change the net mask of the bridge0. Running : ifconfig bridge0 netmask ... throws an error. The default netmask for the yosemite bridge0 is ? rc.conf as also been removed. ? Networking the Pi side : ? Raspberry Pi running Debian has a static host set to I can SSH to the Pi and from the Pi, ping my .local of my Macbook, including the Ethernet's static IP, different than that of the Pi. Pinging from Mac is successful once SSH has been established. No open web packets pass through Ethernet to Mac to web. Ethernet on the Mac is set to a static address of (no router specified). Back to the Mac : ? Even after adding members to the bridge0 as specified above, I cannot pass frames over en0 (Ethernet) to en1 (wifi). Neither can I ping bridge0 ( Bridge0 fails to ping from both Pi side and Mac side. ? Internet sharing is enabled. Managed virtual interfaces have been modified to exclude thunderbolt from the bridge0 and bond0 both, but there is no option to add Ethernet interface as a managed virtual interface (System pref -> cog -> manage virtual interfaces). ? I have further tried to establish routes to attempt to pass traffic from Ethernet over wifi, bridge0 to wifi, and others. ? route -n ? Bridge0 does not ping, even after establishing its ip and other network specifications. ? Finally, I loaded Debian in VMWare fusion, which is able to pass internet traffic to/from Mac over a vlan0 "shared" connection. Modifying the Pi's network config (etc/network/interfaces) to appear similar to the VM network configuration yielded no result. ? The issue seems to be that certain traffic over SSH is simply not passing over Ethernet to Wifi, either through Bridge0 or the default internet sharing option. Pf rules and pfctl -E is not recognizing/allowing ports/interfaces to pass traffic. ? Questions :? ? Do I need to buy Server to enable BIND the easy way? Is there a cert problem for the wifi in keychain possibly? Is there a missing Ethernet configuration in Yosemite since most of the new laptops come without Ethernet ports?? ? Prior to this, considering myself a bit of a networking expert, I am at a loss and have to throw out my black belt in interface integration.? ? Might downgrade to Mavericks? ? Thanks, ? deepgreen ?
