  3. Ok, I am looking to either run Mac OS X within Windows 7/8 on a seperate monitor, or to dual-boot this PC with Windows 7/8 and Mac OS X. I am satisfied with any version of Mac OS X Snow Leopard or newer. I am able to acquire different hardware for incompatibilities, but not for difficulties. I am aiming to have two monitors with seperate keyboard, mouse, and speakers. One monitor will display Windows and the other OS X. I imagine this would be done with VMWare or other comparable software, but am uncertain. If this is impossible, or functionality would be considerably restricted I would be satisfied with a dual-boot setup. I am very computer literate, and would say that I am very familiar with the darker grey areas of software legalities and copyright infringements. I am definately not a noob, for lack of better words. The reward for counseling, not babysitting or hand holding, is 50-75 U.S. Dollars. These dollars will be distributed using the Paypal service, and will be issued immediatly after successful boot of OS X on my system.
  4. Hi guys New to the forums. Known about OSx86 systems for a while now but have always known it's a real pain with AMD but have finally decided to give it a go. My system specs: AMD Phenom II x4 955 Asrock 880GXH nVidia GTX460 8GB XMS3 DDR3 Based on my research it looks like my best bet for a succsesful install is 10.6.3 via NAWCOM's MOD CD as per this guide Appli Art's Guide Can anyone confirm wether this is the latest possible version that can be simply installed on my machiene? I have my OS X retail disk ready and have downloaded NAWCOM's MOD CD so will give this a try tommorow, and I'll let you know how it goes.
  5. PLEASE help! I used to have a perfectly working Leopard iAtkos 7 10.5.8 running with my system (shown below), but since I've upgraded my graphics card from a 9800GTX+ to a GTX 460 I'm now in deep crap. Leopard no longer picks it up. I've tried to install iAtkos 7 10.5.8 again I can't boot as the graphics card isn't recognised. The -x command works, but there aren't any drivers to install as the supported nvidia drivers are only for Snow Leopard. "So just install Snow Leopard?" I hear you say. Well I've tried to install iAtkos S3 V2 10.6.3 but to no avail. Whatever way I try to install, I either get kernel panics at boot, or the PC shuts down on boot (verbos reads CPU halted). With iAtkos S3 V2 I've tried the Chameleon 2 RC5 boot loader, the AnVal bootloader, the 10.3.0 kernel, the 10.2.0 kernel, etc. When booting, I always enter my correct FSB, Busratio and Maxmem values. The DVD was burned at 4x, my bios is set to AHCI and I'm installing to an internal sata drive - all completely normal stuff. Every distro installs great, but they never boot. Can someone please help me? I could really do with having this system up and running soon - I do a lot of Final Cut Pro at work and would love to use it at home. System: Asus M3N-HT Deluxe AMD Phenom II 955 BE 6Gb Corsair XMS2 DDR2 EVGA GTX 460 SE Thanks guys! Much appreciated

  10. I have honestly tried everything. I have a Gigabyte GA-790XT-UD4P coupled with an AMD Phenom II X4 945. With the retail install DVD I installed it to my drives with osx86 ModUSB or whatever it's called, by Nawcom because it's the only one I got to boot on this board. This is actually the second time I try reinstalling, to see if I can do something about it from the get-go. So I proceeded with the install and deselected anything that had to do with audio so I could install it from MB{censored} later. The first thing I did was get my HD4780 to work with QE/CI so I could then focus on Audio, since everything else pretty much works. I have only updated until 10.6.6 just in case it's more compatible (my first try was in 10.6.7). I kept the vanilla AppleHDA because my board has the 889a codec, which from what I gather exists in actual Macs, so it can be recognized without modifying it. I then proceeded to install MB{censored}'s ALC8xxHDA and the ALC885/889a enabler, WITHOUT the AppleHDA rollback. Obivously the card now shows up in system profiler, but nothing is there in the Sound preference panel, so still no output. On my previous install with the same Hardware but another Hard Drive in 10.6.7, I could only get sound with VoodooHDA and it would mix up all the ports, not to mention that it sounded like crap too. I should also mention it's impossible for me to generate a correct DSDT because its missing a lot of entries, nor can I find a DSDT compiled by someone else. So I attempted this method too. So all in all, I'm completely lost, could anyone give me a hand here? I'm sure there is someone really competent and well versed in this who could help me. I would be eternally grateful!
