  1. Is there a way to change resolution with unsupported card? I tried editing my chameleon plist. I have there: <key>Graphics Mode</key> <string>1366x768x32</string> But it always starts with 1024x768x32.
Meu PC: G31T-M7 (VGA GMA3100) E8400 3.0Ghz 3GB DDR2 800Mhz T+
  3. All, I have just finished creating my first hackintosh. It's an Hp dv5-1138nr with an intel core 2 duo and x3100 integrated graphics. The system is running Lion, and everything is working pretty well except for sleep and screen resolution/ graphics acceleration. I used U{censored} to install, and ran mulitbeast -- using easybeast to boot. The only other driver looked is voodoo audio. Can anyone help with the graphics issues- namely, changing screen resolution and enabling graphics acceleration? I have already tried the graphics mode boot string and graphics enabler boot string-- both to no avail. Thank You!
  4. Hi, ok this is going nowhere. My problem is that I can't use my mac ML 10.8.2 installed in vmware very well. Cause my mac only shows that This is my hardware overview. Model Name: Mac Model Identifier: VMware7,1 Processor Speed: 3.14 GHz Number of Processors: 1 Total Number of Cores: 3 L2 Cache (per Core): 256 KB L3 Cache: 6 MB Memory: 2.5 GB Boot ROM Version: VMW71.00V.0.B64.1206270404 SMC Version (system): 1.25f4 Serial Number (system): VMWVk31JuAV00mt0rz5AqmYDw Hardware UUID: 00000000-0000-1000-8000-000C29A9980F This is my graphics overview. Display: Type: GPU Bus: PCI VRAM (Total): 3 MB Device ID: 0x0405 Revision ID: 0x0000 Kernel Extension Info: No Kext Loaded Displays: Display: Resolution: 1024 x 768 Pixel Depth: 32-Bit Color (ARGB8888) Main Display: Yes Mirror: Off Online: Yes Vendor ID: 0x15ad As you can see I only have 3mb total of vram and no kext installed. I tried using GraphicsEnabler=Yes. Installed NVenabler, NVdarwin, NVinject aaaaaand nope nothing happened. The only thing that happened is that one time my display changed to Nvidia Geforce 128 MB. Yes that's not right, I have atleast 2gb of vram in my GeForce 9500gt. Can someone help me I'm still a newbie to this and my first time using MAC cause I need it for learning ruby. Maybe I did something wrong or I don't know. Read every post out there that has 9500 involved in it and tried everything that worked for them but sadly it didn't work for me..
  5. Hello, It's my first post here. I managed to install SL from USB. Everything is working fine (wifi,audio etc.) excepting graphic card. I mean I can't set the proper resolution for my screen which is 1680x1050 60Hz (Samsung SyncMaster 2243NW). I installed NVEnabler_64.kext. Think that problem is screen becouse I could not get native res under Linux without modifying Xorg.conf - always needed to add V/H refresh range. Here is my /Extra/com.apple/Boot.plist: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <!DOCTYPE plist PUBLIC "-//Apple//DTD PLIST 1.0//EN" "http://www.apple.com/DTDs/PropertyList-1.0.dtd"> <plist version="1.0"> <dict> <key>Kernel</key> <string>legacy_kernel</string> <key>Kernel Flags</key> <string>arch=i386</string> </dict> </plist> And here is my /Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration/com.apple.Boot.plist: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <!DOCTYPE plist PUBLIC "-//Apple//DTD PLIST 1.0//EN" "http://www.apple.com/DTDs/PropertyList-1.0.dtd"> <plist version="1.0"> <dict> <key>Kernel Flags</key> <string></string> <key>Graphics Mode</key> <string>1680x1050x32@60</string> </dict> </plist> I would appreciate any help of You. Greetings from Poland
  6. I have a Samsung Series 9 dual botted with windows 7 and snow leopard. How can I change the resolution to 1600x900 because in system preferences>display, it only gives me the option to have 1024x768. My graphics card is the intel hd 4000. is there a way I could possible change the resolution by installing drivers or changing kexts, etc? I tried adding this: <key>Graphics Mode</key> <string>1280x1024x32</string> after this: <string></string> in /Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration/com.apple.Boot.plist but it still doesnt work.
  7. Despite all I try my HD 3000 3036 0116 0009 keep freezing on lion 10.7.4. I have tried all I can think of to get this to work but there is nothing that has fixed the problem. I had limited success using Fakesmc 4.2 on 10.7.1 with limited glitches and freezes but the upgrade to 10.7.4 has stopped the positive effects of the fakesmc kext. The only success I have had is using my edid, after adding my edid to the overrides list the graphics preform perfect with one slight problem the default resolution for my monitor is not available in system preferences! I get all resolutions that I can possibly think of other than 1600x900, I get everything from 800x600,85 all the way to 2304x840x96. I don't understand how the edid is showing that it can handle 2304x840,96 when the screen is 17.3 inch at a default of 1600x900,60. This is my edid I have tried it both with getting the edid from windows and from hackintosh so its not a mistake. I have also tried typing 1600x900x32 in chimera and the resolution stays that until the password screen comes on then it reverts back to whatever resolution I had it on before restarting, in this case 1360x768,60 because it is the only resolution that actually kind of fits the screen. I have also tried keeping the edid then installing switchresx and setting a custom resolution of 1600x900x32@60 but the program says its invalid. Even at 1360x768,60 I can see that the graphics are working perfectly and if I plug the computers hdmi into another monitor at 1920x1080,60 it looks perfect and it performs perfect! So my question is "What is wrong with my EDID and why does it not show my monitor as the size it needs?" Below is the edid I have made using terminal and the overrides folder. <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <!DOCTYPE plist PUBLIC "-//Apple//DTD PLIST 1.0//EN" "http://www.apple.com/DTDs/PropertyList-1.0.dtd"> <plist version="1.0"> <dict> <key>DisplayProductID</key> <integer>5022</integer> <key>DisplayProductName</key> <string>Internal LCD</string> <key>DisplayVendorID</key> <integer>1711</integer> <key>IODisplayEDID</key> <data> 00ffffffffffff0006af9e130000000001130103802615780ac4959e575392260f50 5400000001010101010101010101010101010101f82a409061840c30302036007ed6 100000180000000f0000000000000000000000000020000000fe0041554f0a202020 202020202020000000fe004231373352573031205633200a0026 </data> </dict> </plist>
  8. So, My default resolution is a cramped 1024 x 768, however my Laptop screen is capable of 1366 x 768. I have tried Switchresx4 but, I can't get it to work. I have also tried editing my plist file, but that had no avail. Maybe I need a driver for my specific video card. I am new to mac, especially hackintosh. This is a huge step from Linux where everything is doable in a Terminal. I know there are a few threads about this, but I feel I need one on one help with anyone who may know about this. My Computer info is in my signature, Thank you for your time.
  9. Hi guys, I'm having problem resolving my iATKOS L2, which does not offer the full capacity of my computer / monitor. It would be the lack of kets? When used the iATKOS v2 s3, used this ketx [http://www.osx86.net/view/1090-gma950-945_kexts.html] and my problem was resolved. My setup: http://img846.imageshack.us/img846/2268/chip.png http://img811.imageshack.us/img811/9464/chip2.png http://img207.imageshack.us/img207/1238/35765972.png http://img267.imageshack.us/img267/9690/gpup.png http://img94.imageshack.us/img94/4112/monitord.png http://img828.imageshack.us/img828/4751/placamec.png http://img267.imageshack.us/img267/4883/processador.png If you need more information just comment

  11. I was using iATKOS V2 S3 with all the kexts working. When you upgrade / format your computer to iATKOS L1 had to reinstall the kexts. all worked except the VGA video card. When installed this kexts (http://www.osx86.net/view/1090-gma950-945_kexts.html) in my iATKOS V2 to S3 resolution permeitamente worked, but not now. Is it still is not compatible? This defective? I'm translating to english
  12. So I am trying to adjust the default resolution on my box from the default 1024x768 to 1680x1050. When Chameleon 2.0 - RC 5 r 1083 loads, I have the option to specify "Graphics Mode"="1680x1050x32" which does change the resolution, but I don't want to type this in every time I boot the system, so I thought editing the com.apple.Boot.plist file would do the job but it doesn't. This is what my file looks like: I am currently running OS X (10.7.1), so if anyone else has run into this behavior and come up with a solution please share.
  13. After a few minor bumps along the way, I now have Snow Leo 10.6.8 up and running on my AMD Hackintosh! Thanks to AppliArt for the great install guide! I do have a couple of minor issues thus far: 1) My FireWire port (onboard) seems to not be working. I have been trying to connect a G3 iBook (booted in FW Target Disk Mode) to the FW port, but the iBook HD is not mounting, nor is Disk Utility even seeing the bare drive. 2) The Displays prefpane is not presenting any alternate screen resolutions; I am stuck with a 1268x1024 (IIRC) resolution--makes some stuff look a bit fat on my widescreen. Can anyone help with either of these issues? Thanks.
