  1. First off I appologize should I be duplicating a question that is already is "solved" status. My machine is blazing. 32GB of Ram, Intel i7, Nvidia Quadro 2000 (works) and 3 intel 520 series SSD's but there is this one annoying problem I can seem to figure out. The sleep function doesn't work. (used to) in sleep mode, the fans would still be loud. When you wake it up, mouse or keyboard, the login screen will look terrible with smudgy images of everything you watched on video...including the ones you'd rather keep secret eeh, Any idea what I could do?
  2. Hi everybody, hope y'all good! Today I installed Mountain Lion using a kit made for my laptop. Before I installed ML, i had Lion perfectly running, wifi, bluetooth, sleep, ethernet, graphics, usb, hdmi etc... everything was working. But now, I get some issues with the Bluetooth, the Sleep, and a bit with WiFi. For the bluetooth, I tried a kext called IOBluetoothFamily, a version supposed to support Mountain Lion, it worked one time. The Sleep, i tried a 10.8 compatible version of SleepEnabler, but even with or not, the system falls in sleep, but at wake I got artefacts and nothing work except mouse. Here are the Kext I installed : AHCIPortInjector.kext AppleIntelCPUPowerManagement.kext FakeSMC.kext IONetworkingFamily.kext IOUSBMassStorageClass.kext VoodooHDA.kext AppleACPIPS2Nub.kext ApplePS2Controller.kext IO80211Family.kext IOPlatformPluginFamily.kext PXHCD.kext AppleACPIPlatform.kext AppleSmartBatteryManager.kext IOAHCIBlockStorageInjector.kext IOUSBFamily.kext RealtekRTL81xx.kext They were all in a kit I downloaded I checked for NullCPUPM because I heard that he prevented system from sleep For the wifi it's simple it found my network but I connect he give a random adress that doesn't match my dhcp, in ethernet it's ok If anyone of you had similar issues or hint it will be helpful, here's my configuration Asus G74Sx 750gb HDD Intel i7 2630QM 8Gb Ram nVidia GTX 560M Thank you so much everybody!
  3. hello everybody...after passing lot of trouble i make it work with you're help guys... my laptop is running Lion 10.7.3 nice. Wifi: Working Ethernet: Working Graphics Cards: Have 2.. Intel Hd 3000 and Nvidia gt540m and I just say that I'm playing full Hd movies without problems. Have not tried the HDMI. Bluetooth: Working randomly... I guess sometimes it's responsible for kernerls panics... My main problem it's really the power managment because it causes all the time irresponsiveness from the system leading me always to a restart... Can't wake up, sleep and if I shut it down it let the bios working (not turned off fully)... I would like some help from people who has this Laptop... or whomever with understanding about this... Thanks
  4. So far I have most of stuff working but there is still somethings that doesn't. So I would be happy to share my knowledge in exchange of others knowledge to get osx fully working on this kind of nb. So anyone who have this nb write your experience and what you wanna get work and lets put our heads together and solve anything we can . So far I can help with: - Battery - Sound - Trackpad And thinks I would like to help with: - USB (when I connect anything beside Flash or any disk device I have no problem but if I connect any of storage device I get kernel panic) - WiFI (I don't think there is any solution yet for Intel 5100 AGN) - Sleep (I have tried 3 different sleep enablers kexts and some kind of program called PleaseSleep and it's still doesn't work) - Keyboard (I have keyboard working but somehow always at start it's ask me to connect keyboard) And BTW right now I'm using version 10.7.4.
  5. I have just installed iATKOS S3 V2 onto a partition on my Dell Studio 1737. I found a youtube tutorial and managed to get almost everything working. I do have a few issues though. My ATI Mobility HD 3650 doesn't work. All I want is native resolution. I have tried both the RadeonHD and AppleIntelIntegratedFrambuffer kexts in combo and individually but niether work. In the tutorial vid it said that I would only need to install the Framebuffer kext to get this working. I'm using Kext Utility to install btw. I'm very new to OS X so don't have a huge amount of experience with the Terminal/complex install proceedures yet. Any ideas? I also have Chameleon RC5 r700 installed so I can quite easiler add graphics enabler + graphics mode strings to my boot.plist which I have done. Still no luck though Another issue I have is with sleep enabler. I have updated my install to 10.6.6 and have used the relevant sleep enabler kext posted on this site but attempting to sleep just crashes the computer. The screen freezes and becomes unresponsive. Finally, my fan seems to be constantly going. I have a voodoo power manager installed (from iATKOS) but can't remember which one. The top of the list I think. Are there better alternatives out there? Thanks in advance.
  6. As I could never enable sleep mode properly I had a thought about a shutdown plugin for OSX. I mean in Linux I just have to write: sudo shutdown -h now or sudo reboot in order to make the system close down. So it should be possible to make a plugin that uses timeout function to shut the system down after a period of time. My problem is: Sleep function is on 'never' because I never installed a system that was able to re-wake after it fell asleep. SleepEnabler did not change this for me. Just like some Linux systems do not always support sleep/rewake or suspend to disk modes like they should. But as OSX on common notebooks and PC systems has this function to fall asleep works very well - just the rewake seems a problem - I thought like this: Can I make the system just shut down properly instead of sleep ? I mean, I won't care if I have to boot up again, but I can't let my Lenovo G560 run all night and day long. The temperature is always about 50-65 degrees with OSX. More than usual, because PowerSave functions do not work. If anyone can give me a hint how to find a plugin for shutdown instead of sleep, please help me. Or if there is a Program with advanced power management as I know it from Linux. Please help me. It is to save electric energy and helps to save nature.
  7. Im finally upgraded my iAtkos to 10.6.7 hoping the problems I had would be fixed, they weren't. First: When I boot up the apple icon shows followed by a gray then black screen, I have to use an active screen corner to wake the screen and its annoying. The computer does not sleep at all even as i replaced the sleep enabler kext and ran kext utility it still doesn't sleep. Lastly the battery meter does not work properly because my battery is at 0% and it is not charging, it shows up as 100% which is wrong however i don't care much about that but is annoying. I have no idea how to fix this, I've tried many different things where none worked so does anyone know how to fix this. After this i want to know if I would be able to upgrade to Lion from here: I have iAtkos L2 and a bootable Lion.dmg. If i can update which method would be better for me to use and what other things would need to be done?
