  2. I just wanted to start a discussion on attempting to use the apple store update straight from 10.6.8 . ? It has taken weeks to get my 10.6.8 install to be rock solid and fully functional. So this is kind of a daring exploit. For those who don't realize it, I have not yet accomplished this, nor attempted it. So if you do, it's on you, but share your experiences. That is what this thread is made for.? ? Now the first thing I will do is do a full back-up to another drive to work from. What I need from there is, some input from the more experienced on doing this sort of thing on, in my case, an AMD machine. However, don't be limited to AMD on the thread, share your Intel experiences too ? What we need ? what files will we need to back up and restore during installation what new files will we need to track downwhat kernel to use for what system ( CPU and CHIPSET and Motherboard are most helpful)An ordered process of installation. ie: step by step with file names, bootflags, etcPost your System setup for the rest of us If you used tools, explain that. If you used sudo -s , explain that as well. ? I am game, hope more will join me. I personally am running an AMD Athlon 64 x2 4600 on asrock via chipset, so I welcome anyone elses comments with similar setup ? By the way, ML ran pretty crappy on mine, had a real problem with windows appearing to not close and clogging up my desktop. Hope this will go better.
GRAZIE MILLE IN ANTICIPO!

  6. Hello members of the OSx86 Forums! This is my first post here, so I hope you guys aren't too harsh if I fail to supply enough information, or if I screw something up. I'm quite noobish when it comes to Mac OS X. So a bit of a background first: (Skip to next section if you don't want to read. I won't be offended) I have been Windows user for as long as I've owned a computer. I absolutely love Windows, and never had a legit reason to hate Mac OS X. Recently I have been thinking of trying out OS X, but I was put down by the idea of losing Windows in the process. I tried to use VirtualBox, but it turns out that my Pentium D (820) doesn't support Virtualization, so I couldn't VM it. So I basically decided to try dual booting Windows and Mac OS X. Okay now there's a bit of a background, now on to my issues. I burned a copy of iATKOS Snow Leopard v2 (iATKOS S3 v2) and installed Mac OS X based on following this tutorial: http://www.osx86.net/10-6-snow-leopard/10953-installation-iatkos-10-6-3-v2-s3-g31m-es2l-w-intel-pentium-d-4-a.html While it successfully installed, I cannot boot into OS X. When I attempt to boot without any flags, I receive a "kernal panic." I am not entirely sure what's happening here, so I tried the flags "-x" and "-v" When using "-x" which is, correct me if I'm wrong, boot in Safe Mode; It shows a message displaying "FILE SYSTEM MODIFIED" and something about a "DSMOS." When the DSMOS message is displayed, it just freezes there, not doing anything. I don't know how long to wait, as I am impatient. I am going to post this now, however I will attempt to add pictures of the errors I'm receiving. So I haven't tried this yet, but I think I will try to install using a different Kernel. Thanks for reading and please if you can help with anything, leave a comment. I will appreciate all the help and support I can get. Thanks. -Mike
  7. Hi! I'm stucked here when i'm trying to install osx 10.6.7 on my pc. I have a HP Elitebook 8540w with Intelcore i7 with a upgraded 6gb RAM. How to solve this problem?
  8. Can anyone explain the process of using NAWCOM via a USB to boot into a retail USB snow leopard burned DMG. I have all the essential files and images. I just need an explanation as to how i would go about this via using USB (my optical drive is broke) thansk in advance. Please be very specific.
  9. Hi I have been wrestling with the leohazard 10.6.2 installation. I was wondering if anyone was familiar enough with this method to help me out! Would be so appreciated! My problem is after booting into the disk and install 10.6.2 along with these kexts: Chameleon Bootloader; elliotlegacyRTC and NV enabler, I manage to get it to reboot into the apple loading screen through the chameleon bootloader and this as far as I've gotten after a few minutes of waiting the screen displays "please turn off and restart." Any ideas...??? Im using an Intel E7500 2.9Ghz core 2 duo with a G31-M7 TE Biostar mobo, 2GB X2 of Dynet Ram, a 250gb seagate sata HDD and a 9300GS nvidia GPU. Any ideas would be great! Even if you can recommend another option! Thanks alot!!
