  2. Hi guys, ? I have done some upgrade before, it worked perfectly on my hackintosh. Today i try to upgrade from 10.7.4(or 3) to 10.7.5 and i'm stuck on startup with some errors such as: ? ? ? Would you help to understand and how to resolve it? ? Many thanks, hackintosh.txt
  3. I just wanted to start a discussion on attempting to use the apple store update straight from 10.6.8 . ? It has taken weeks to get my 10.6.8 install to be rock solid and fully functional. So this is kind of a daring exploit. For those who don't realize it, I have not yet accomplished this, nor attempted it. So if you do, it's on you, but share your experiences. That is what this thread is made for.? ? Now the first thing I will do is do a full back-up to another drive to work from. What I need from there is, some input from the more experienced on doing this sort of thing on, in my case, an AMD machine. However, don't be limited to AMD on the thread, share your Intel experiences too ? What we need ? what files will we need to back up and restore during installation what new files will we need to track downwhat kernel to use for what system ( CPU and CHIPSET and Motherboard are most helpful)An ordered process of installation. ie: step by step with file names, bootflags, etcPost your System setup for the rest of us If you used tools, explain that. If you used sudo -s , explain that as well. ? I am game, hope more will join me. I personally am running an AMD Athlon 64 x2 4600 on asrock via chipset, so I welcome anyone elses comments with similar setup ? By the way, ML ran pretty crappy on mine, had a real problem with windows appearing to not close and clogging up my desktop. Hope this will go better.
  4. Whats the most painless way to upgrade from 10.8.5 to Mavericks on the Z77-D3H? Does it entail formatting the hard drive and reinstalling everything again? ? ? ? ? ?
  5. I have installed OS X ML N{censored} Edition on my PC and it's working perfectly without any problem. Yesterday apple released OS X Mavericks and made it a free upgrade. I like to know if it is safe to upgrade using app store or I should wait for Mavericks N{censored} Edition again? I also have backed up my data so there is not that much worry to be concerned of.
  6. Hi, Everyone! My specs are in my Signature... After getting a new laptop, I have successfully installed iATKOS 1.0i on my old Dell Inspiron E1505. I have 4 partitions: Leopard, Recovery HD (clone of Leopard), UsersHD (my Users' folder) and Time Machine (for the Time Machine app). It runs without any boot flags, but there are issues: Brightness doesn't work, even with Shades prefPane installed. Resolution is stuck at 1024x768, though the screen is capable of 1280x800. Impossible to upgrade with either Software Upgrade or Combo Upgrade. I've tried unsuccessfully a number of upgrade paths: USB (U{censored}), Software/Combo Upgrade, and most recently iB{censored} 3.3.0 with a Lion ESD (10.7, not Mountain). I need advice on where to go from here; I would be grateful just to be able to upgrade to the latest Leopard and to get higher resolution on my ATI Radeon X1300. Thanks for your reply!

  9. Hey guys First up, all of us here at TechBay would like to say a HUGE thank you to everyone on OSX86. Your forums, guides & downloads are absolutely fantastic!! Now I'm sure someone will have a straight answer for this - I've got this working Hackintosh here, successfully dual booting OS X Mountain Lion & Windows 7 on two separate HDDs. I'm just wondering if it would be possible to use the Windows 8 retail disk & upgrade the Windows 7 partition to Windows 8, without damaging my dual boot? And if it will cause any sort of issues once installed, what would be the simplest solution, without reinstalling either OS? Thanks in advance!
  10. I have Lion running successfully and I now want to upgrade it to Mountain Lion. When I mount the DVD and try to install, it says the Mac partition has to be on a GUID partition table. So, I created a bootable USB of it using MyHack. When I boot from the USB in verbose mode, it stops at "PCI Configuration begins" What do I do?
  11. how can a upgrade affect the stability of your system? Someone told me the Hackintosh could become a bit of a headeach because of that. Is that true? thx
  12. Guys, Im in deeeeep need of help. I'm sorry for bugging anyone but I've tried everything. Here is my situation: I have iPC 10.5.6 installed successfully on my acer aspire 5336 (intel celeron 900) I then upgraded to 10.5.8 via inside OSX. What I want to do is install snow leopard. 10.5 leopard is just too out of date for my applications. I have tried the hazard 10.6 intel/amd distro and I just get a black screen after booting (after success install) I have a snow leopard DMG RETAIL DISC image. and a lion DMG I've spent hours upon hours doing tons of research everywhere trying many tutorials to isntall one of the two (lion or SL) to my flash drive because my optical disc drive is broke. I never get anywhere. Every single tutorial i've tried REQUIRES ATLEAST SNOW LEOPARD As you can see, i have leopard. I actually think this is impossible. CAN ANYONE PLEEEAASSEE HELP ME INSTALL SNOW LEOPARD TO A USB without using snowleopard (obviously) PPPLEEAASE! thanks in advance. I appreciate any help.
  13. First off, wanna thank everyone on the forum who's helped me with all my hackintosh needs. I Appreciate and respect anyone whos willing to take time out of their day to help others in the hackintosh community. Okay, So i have an important Q about updating my OSX... Pleasse try to stick with the point and not get too off tasked with other methods. Thanks Anyway, I am currently downloading the MAC OSX 10.7 Lion Application Installer. (Note: Not an ISO, an actual apple app. file) Therefore, this is the same download that you would buy form the App Store. My question is, once i mount this app, can I proceed through the installation to upgrade my OSX (my osx is currently a lousy 10.5.8)?? I want to just be able to run the installer and upgrade. Is this possible or will i run into failures/problems??? Thanks in advance.
  14. Então pessoal, sou novo no hackintosh e tenho tido um problema recorrente. No meu pc eu usei o guia postado aqui no forum, na parte em inglês, que diz ser "The only guide you'll ever need".
  15. Hi, I installed Mac OS X 10.6.2 with method hazard. I installed the kexts and everything works except the audio. I decided to upgrade the computer: I have installed all updates including a update combo. when I installed updates and restarted the computer, after starting Chamelon appears the apple, and then appears a window that says to hold down the power button until the computer turns off, and then turning it on again. I tried to do this tens of times, but each time the message reappears. do you think that if upgrade to "lion" in some way I can solve the problem? sorry for my poor english... these are the information on my computer: hp probook 4510s intel pentium dual-core t4400 cpu mobile intel 4 series integrated graphics controller. if i forgotten to say something please ask thanks!! EDIT: i have no kernel panics...
