    HoRNDIS

    Version .

    13 downloads

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t7-9nHR3WIs HoRNDIS is a driver for Mac OS X that allows you to use your Android phone's native USB tethering mode to get Internet access. It is known to work with Mac OS X versions 10.6.8 (Snow Leopard) through 10.14 (Mojave), and has been tested on a wide variety of phones. Although you should be careful with all drivers that you install on your computer, HoRNDIS has been tested at least well enough for the author (and many others) to run full time on their own personal computers.

This is a new updated kext and utility directly from MediaTek for the MT7610U and MT7612U network chipset. This utility was updated and released on January 20th 2016 on MediaTek website. I have the Netgear A6210 AC1200-WiFi USB 3.0 Adapter and it works perfectly under OSX 10.11.6 with USB 3.0 and 5GHz networks being recognized. It should work for any card with one of those two chips. UPDATE 10/1/2016 I have had some serious trouble updating my system to macOS 10.12 Sierra but I have finally seemed to have gotten it working. When I have done a clean install and installing this package afterwards, It didn't seem to work. However after updating a working copy of El Capitan to Sierra with this package already installed, it seems to work. So as of this post, this same package does work under macOS 10.12 Sierra but you might have some trouble like I have until mediatek performs their own official update. UPDATE 10/26/16 I have finally figured out what is going on with this installer package. When you run this package as is, it will not install the kext on macOS sierra. It will install the wireless utility and all associated files but not the actual kext. I have included the kext as a standalone as well. Install the Kext with kext utility then run the installer pkg. Reboot and you will have a perfectly working USB wireless stick. Confirmed working macOS 10.12.1 RT2870USBWirelessDriver.kext.zip
  5. Create a bootable installer for macOS See the source article at support.apple.com With macOS High Sierra, Sierra, El Capitan, Yosemite, or Mavericks, you can use a USB flash drive or other storage media as a startup disk from which to install the Mac operating system. You don't need a bootable installer to reinstall macOS, but it can be useful when you want to install macOS on multiple computers. These are advanced steps, intended primarily for system administrators and others who are familiar with the command line. Download the macOS installer from the App Store Download the macOS installer from the Mac App Store. The installer downloads to your Applications folder as a single file with a name that begins ”Install”. For example: Install macOS High Sierra. If the installer opens automatically after downloading, quit the installer. Mount the USB flash drive, external hard drive, secondary internal partition, or other storage media that will contain the install media. Make sure that it has at least 12GB of available storage space. Continue to the next section. Use the 'createinstallmedia' command in Terminal After downloading the installer, open the Terminal app, which is in the Utilities folder of your Applications folder. Use the createinstallmedia command in Terminal to create the bootable installer. This is the basic syntax of the command: Syntax for High Sierra: createinstallmedia --volume volumepath Syntax for Sierra and earlier: createinstallmedia --volume volumepath --applicationpath installerpath Replace volumepath with the path to your USB flash drive or other volume. Replace installerpath with the path to the installer. The following examples assume that the installer is in your Applications folder, and the name of your USB flash drive or other volume is MyVolume: Example for High Sierra: sudo /Applications/Install\ macOS\ High\ Sierra.app/Contents/Resources/createinstallmedia --volume /Volumes/MyVolume Example for Sierra: sudo /Applications/Install\ macOS\ Sierra.app/Contents/Resources/createinstallmedia --volume /Volumes/MyVolume --applicationpath /Applications/Install\ macOS\ Sierra.app Example for El Capitan: sudo /Applications/Install\ OS\ X\ El\ Capitan.app/Contents/Resources/createinstallmedia --volume /Volumes/MyVolume --applicationpath /Applications/Install\ OS\ X\ El\ Capitan.app Example for Yosemite: sudo /Applications/Install\ OS\ X\ Yosemite.app/Contents/Resources/createinstallmedia --volume /Volumes/MyVolume --applicationpath /Applications/Install\ OS\ X\ Yosemite.app Example for Mavericks: sudo /Applications/Install\ OS\ X\ Mavericks.app/Contents/Resources/createinstallmedia --volume /Volumes/MyVolume --applicationpath /Applications/Install\ OS\ X\ Mavericks.app Learn more For more information about the createinstallmedia command, make sure that the macOS installer is in your Applications folder, then enter the appropriate path in Terminal: Path for High Sierra: /Applications/Install\ macOS\ High\ Sierra.app/Contents/Resources/createinstallmedia Path for Sierra: /Applications/Install\ macOS\ Sierra.app/Contents/Resources/createinstallmedia Path for El Capitan: /Applications/Install\ OS\ X\ El\ Capitan.app/Contents/Resources/createinstallmedia Path for Yosemite: /Applications/Install\ OS\ X\ Yosemite.app/Contents/Resources/createinstallmedia Path for Mavericks: /Applications/Install\ OS\ X\ Mavericks.app/Contents/Resources/createinstallmedia

Anyone use this adapter before? I have it and works great on my windows side and I can get the connection of 867 mbps but when I boot into El Captain (10.11.6) I can only get a connection rate of 300 mbps . .. I installed various different versions of the software driver and used its uninstaller as well to try and keep it clean but just wont connect no higher! Argh.. I contacted their support and no help at all.. first responce took 11 days and 3 emails.. Still have heard nothing back since I responded to them and its been 20 days now.. Anyhow Could there be a conflict or something with my old usb wifi dongle? If so how would I go about deleting its Kexts drivers? Here is some pics.. Other wise it works great.. I just want the full speed of it Help please.
  8. Hey, i had hackintosh in old days of chameleon but clover is new to me. I used this guide Guide maverics samsung 530u3b but to be able to install i had to use another config to match the hd4000 card on my 530u3c, becouse on that setup install froze on graphic initialization. With changed config i was able to prepare to install, but it took long time and there were some error's. After reboot install starts and it goes with no problems at all. When system starts it looks like everything is ok, but... The only usb device that is visible by system is this with install maverics. Partition with clover(on the same pendrive is not). I tried 4 different usb pendrive, with fat32 and with journaled and nothing is visible. I couldn't find the way to install kext's becouse there was no ethernet and no usb working. Sooo i came up with idea to store kext utility and kext's in the install partition of maverics pendrive.Kext utility work's perfect but kexts makes no difference. What to do? What you need to be able to examin this problem, i will send logs, or other information. Thank's for your time My setup: Samsung 530u3c i5-3317um 8GB ram SSD Samsung (new) i will be changing bluetooth card sound card alc if i remember 296 one Matt

File Name: TL-WN725N_v2_USB_MacOS10.8 The TP-Link TL-WN723N USB WiFi has 3 versions: V1 - using the realtek chip RTL8188SU (source) V2 - using the realtek chip RTL8188CUS (source) V3 - using the realtek chip RTL8188EUS (source) This package was uploaded specifically for V3. To check your version, check the inscription on the silver contacts of the usb wifi itself. Should appear as FCC ID: TE7WN723NV3 Took me a day and several attempts before I stumbled onto this package. This package includes: Separate Wireless Network Utility app RTL8188EU kext (for TL-WN723N-V3 and TL-WN725N-V2) RTL8192SU / RTL8192CU kexts (I seriously don't know why these are present) NOTE: This package is really for TL-WN725N-V2 but works for the TL-WN723N-V3 too (since both use the same kext) PS: Since I had a tough day getting my TL-WN723N-V3 to work, i thought i'd upload this separately to save your time. Summary: This package will... Work for: TL-WN723N-V3 (has the required RTL8188EU kext) TL-WN725N-V2 (has the required RTL8188EU kext) NOT work for: TL-WN723N-V1 (missing RTL8188SU kext) TL-WN723N-V2 (missing RTL8188CUS kext) (NOTE: user AbdullahAlT3mimy, in his comments, mentioned that it worked for him) if nothing works then try your luck here: official realtek driver download link INSTRUCTIONS: 1. Extract 2. Install (next-next-next-next) 3. Restart 4. Plug-in the USB wifi and the Wireless Network Utility should automatically appear 5. Under Link Status, ensure the bottom right button reads "Radio Button Off" 6. Go to "Available Networks" tab and connect to the required wifi network (if the SSID is hidden, it will still appear but as a nameless network. Use common sense and your wireless networking experience/knowledge to guide yourself from here)

  12. Hi, I'm getting an error message whenever I try to launch the OS X Installer from my USB key. I am using a Mavericks 10.9 distro (not allowed to say the name apparently, but it starts with N). It says "Errors encountered while starting up the computer. Pausing 5 seconds". Then my computer reboots. After searching on the Internet, I've tried the following boot flags : -v -v -x -v GraphicsEnabler=Yes/No -v dart=0 -v PCIRootUID=0/1 -v UseKernelCache=No None of them worked. Here are some screenshots. That's what I'm getting when I boot from my Mavericks USB key : http://i.imgur.com/hAjKdiF.jpg And this is what I'm getting when I boot from my Chameleon USB key, then my Mavericks USB key : http://i.imgur.com/n76qoDp.jpg I've created my Mavericks bootable USB using Win32DiskImager and my Chameleon USB stick following a tutorial (from MacB***ker) since I do not have access to a Mac. The worst part is that I actually managed to install Mavericks a few days ago on the same computer ! I uninstalled it in order to do a clean install and now it doesn't work. What should I do ? CPU : i5-4570 Motherboard : ASRock B85 Pro4 GPU : GTX 760
  13. I have just installed OS X Yosemite on my PC and it all appears to be going fine (even iMessage and FaceTime work) however I cannot get it to see any USB devices except USB KB/M, and if I connect a KB or M after boot they do not work, I have tried using USBBusFix=1 and 0, neither seem to work. I have tried using Flash Drives, External HDDs, External DVD drives and even a USB Floppy Disk Drive (All of which work fine on my 2007 MacBook. Does anyone have any suggestions?
  14. I have created an Enoch-bootable USB Installer volume for El Capitan, and after applying USB fixes, I can get it to boot all the way to the OS X Installer welcome screen. Unfortunately, my mouse is non-responsive at that point. I can get past the language selector screen by hitting return or enter, but can't get past the next screen (with the Back and Continue buttons at the bottom). My tab key works for switching the highlight outline from one button to the other, but hitting return/enter after highlighting the Continue button does nothing. The system will recognize a Cmd+Q, and put up the Quit dialog, but from there I can only get to the Startup Disk selector, and can't do a thing except reboot. Any ideas on what kernel flags or other fixes I need to get to the OS X installer with a working mouse (and keyboard)?

    GenericUSBXHCI Yosemite Problem

I'm on Yosemite 10.10.3. I'm using this version: "RehabMan-Generic-USB3-2014-1016" corresponding the GenericUSBXHCI.kext provided by RehabMan. With this version everything seems to work perfectly. But when using an external display through the HDMI port and an external USB audio interface, the system freezes when trying to initialize core audio inside Logic Pro X. If I disconnect the external display I can work perfectly inside Logic Pro X using the external USB audio interface. I didn't have this issue with Mavericks. Also If I use an older version of the mentioned kext I can work inside Logic with the external display and USB audio interface, but leaving functional just one USB port.
  17. Keyboard and mouse don’t work during Mountain Lion installation. Need your knowledge Hello guys, Sorry for my bad English. I need your help to solve this problem: I can’t move my mouse and my keyboard don’t work on installation screen of Mountain Lion 10.8.2 This is my config : • Gigabyte P55-UD3L (AHCI and HPET64bits configured bios) • CPU I5-760 • ATI4830 or NVIDIA GTX450 (I can swich) • USB mouse • I have a USB keyboard and a PS2 keyboard (I can swich too)i I have a fully working (sound, Ethernet, video, keyboard and mouse) snow leopard OS on my 500GB western digital hard drive. I tried to install mountain Lion with U{censored}, with legacy USB option, but I’ve got the grey screen freezed. With –v I cannot see the last line before the Pc (hackintosh) reboot… So I tried with MyHack. And it worked with ATI4830 without any boot command I can go until this screen http://www.cachem.fr/wp-content/uploads/2012/08/installation-mountain-lion-os-x-10.8-pc.jpg I cannot move my Mouse and keyboard Before asking for your help I tried by myself to do this : • Putting the GTX450 but I have the Grey Freezed screen and as far i can the installation screen with the ATI card I think its not a PCI card problem. The GTX450 is brand new and fully working on windows8. • I tried with the PS2 keyboard-> nothing changes • I tried –x -> nothing changes • PCIRootUID=1 -> nothing changes • GraphicsEnabler=No -> nothing changes • Cpus=1 -> nothing changes • USBBusFIX -> I can’t move my keyboard or mouse • Turn Off Legacy USB in bios -> The USB KEY cannot boot, nothing happen • I putted two kext in Extra folder of MyHack USB key hopping that it wil lunch this as drivers but othing more: IOUSBFamily.kext (but as my USB key is recognized it was ok) and VoodooPS2Controller.kext but nothing changes… • I putted my P55-UD3L DSTD (renamed in DSTD.aml) in this folder and lunched it in the boot command DSTD=/Extra/DSTD.aml -> Grey Screen with the black centered spinning weel during hours… Do you think buying an APPLE keybord would do something ? If you have any solution even weird even difficult I will try. If ti works you will have my eternal gratitude and the feel that you helped a man somewhere on earth. Florian.

  19. D: I am unable to control anything USB after I take out my wifi USB while the machine is running, any ideas? ? I know it is not the actual OS that is freezing, it is merely the USB ports. ? I found this out when I: ? - found out wifi usb was preventing my hackintosh to sleep - took it out after powering the machine off - tried sleep with the wifi usb completely out of the hackintosh, worked flawless - ?put it back in and powered it on again, this time i take out the wifi usb and suddenly, i think the OS freezes - i put on minecraft and spotify and sure enough they keep running, fine, but cannot control as my Keyboard is USB, and so is my mouse :/ - tried using the "radio off" function in the utility for the wifi usb, it turns it off fine, but after waking it from sleep, the usb ports lock up immediately, i think this is cuz it stops powering the wifi usb when it goes into sleep and when it wakes up, it is basically the same thing as putting it back in or supplying power to it again. ? any fix for this? ? ? if no fixes are available, i was thinking of buying a PCI-e wifi card for OS X... will this still work in OS X yosemite? ? http://www.amazon.com/TP-LINK-TL-WDN4800-Wireless-Express-Low-profile/dp/B007GMPZ0A/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1421718088&sr=8-1&keywords=tp+link+wdn4800 ? ? EDIT: Still getting the lock ups when i tried another Wifi USB.

    External USB as Internal

Hi, It is possible to change external USB slots to act as built in ? I have read some old post for 10.5.7, but I'm not sure if it is still valid.? I have 4 USB ports on board, they work fine on USB2 speed. Next I have PCI 3+1 x USB2.0 card with chip VT6212, but Maverick think, that it is VT82xxxx. Devices plugged to this USB ports are recognized, bud sometime they do not work. Mass storage devices are recognized, but sometimes they are not mounted, or if they are mounted, I can write only with 12Mbit/s speed. ? I have tried patch my DSDT according two blogs (https://apocolipse.com/?p=14) on internet, but it did not work. ? Any help ? Actually it is possible to do it ? Thank You ? ?
