  1. Hi Guys, I've got a dilema, I want to run a OSX Server for iOS caching. So, I've got 10.11.6 up and running. But when I try to turn on Cache, I get: So I'm a bit puzzled. Any tips, my Virtualbox EFI script is: Everything else seems to work really well except this. Thanks
  2. I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this, but I've been trying to install Snow Leopard on my AMD based PC in a VM using Hazard's modified OSX installation ISO. The installation runs smoothly to around 3/4 completed, when I get an error stating that: "The Installer could not validate the contents of the 'OxFordDictionaries' package. Contact the software manufacturer for assistance.". I checked the customization options to make sure the package wasn't included with anything I selected and it was not listed there. It seems to be a core package but I'm unsure to what the problem is, is it corrupted? Should I re-download the ISO? I'm unsure as to what to do so please reply it will help alot! Since it is a VM i couldn't copy and paste a log from the installation but the lines towards the bottom of the errors log say: Dyld error message: unknown required load command 0x80000022 and, TheOxfordDictionaries package failed to validate. I'm unsure the Dyld error one has anything to do with it though because there are a few of them in the logs and the installation seems to continue fine. Please reply I know there is someone that can help, and sorry if this is a noob-ish question xD.
  3. Please help with this error!

Hi there, ? I'm very new to this sort of thing and I want to starting programming ios apps but the problem is you have to have Mac OS X to install xcode! ? So I'm trying to install Mac OS X Mavericks onto virtual box so I can start programming! ? So iv'e done the steps on this tutorial:?http://www.macbreaker.com/2014/05/os-x-mavericks-in-virtualbox-with-N{censored}.html?but when I get to the boot screen where you have to type the boot flag I get some trouble! ? It says that if your cpu has "FX" in it you have to type "amdfx -v" and my cpu is a Amd FX 4300 so I did that. ? But then a whole lot of script comes up and it stops! Here is a screenshot: ? ? Please help! ? Thanks, Dylan
  4. Hi everyone, I'm really hoping someone can help me. I'm a complete newbie to this but I did manage to install OSX on an old laptop a number of years ago, I just can't remember anything on how I did it! ? I would like to install OSX into VMWare Workstation 10 on my PC to get a feel for things, but whenever I've followed any guides or tutorials, I always get errors - mainly the error saying "CPU Disabled by the host operating system". ? My specs are as follows: ? VMware Workstation 10 Windows 8.1 64bit 16GB DDR3 RAM AMD FX-4100 Quad Core CPU Plenty of Hard drive space NVIDIA GeForce GTX 780 GPU Asus M5A78L-M/USB3 Motherboard ? If anyone fancies helping me out I would be extremely pleased! ? Thanks in advance! Jay
  5. Hi everyone! I've been at this for a while now and had no luck whatsoever. ? I have followed multiple videos and tutorials but I can't get past the initial boot and start the installation process. Is there any chance someone can advise me what files I need to download or tools I need etc... that will work best with my system? ? If you need my specs, I've attached a screenshot to this post. ? I really want to be able to use Mac in VirtualBox to test it out, if anyone can give me some advice that would be great! ? Thanks in advance!
  6. So I'm trying to install N{censored}'s?Mavericks 10.9 in VirtualBox 4.3.14?on Windows 7, but I really have no idea what I'm doing and can't even get to the welcome screen while trying to install OS X. I was using the macbreaker guild, but I got stuck at the apple logo. When I boot using "-v" I get the lovely Missing Bluetooth Controller Transport error. I'm attaching a screenshot of that. Thanks to google, I've found a few suggestions for other things to boot with, but none so far have helped. So any suggestions are completely welcome! ? Since I'm using virtualbox, I have no idea of my pc stats are relevant, but here they are: os: Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit SP1 cpu: Intel? Core i5-4670K CPU @ 3.40GHz (4 cores) mobo: MSI?Z87-G43 (MS-7816) video: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 670 ? Thank you for reading my post and please let me know if there's any other info I should give. ? EDIT: Sorry for posting in post installation, I miss-clicked. If someone could move this over the correct section that would be great.
  7. Hi i'm a complete noob to hackintoshing so please dumb down your answers as much as possible so i understand. (i have good?knowledge?of?computers though) ? I want to make a hackintosh on my amd pc through virtualbox but i've run into some problems, ? I've been using this tutorial here :http://randosity.wordpress.com/2010/06/21/running-mac-os-x-in-virtualbox/ but when i use my boot loader [Nawcoms OSX86 ModCD] i get an error after swapping and pressing enter to run the installation disc (i bought the retail snow leopard disc that i burned to an iso file) (picture attached) ? I HAVE enabled AMD-v in the BIOS ? My pc specs are in some of the pictures attached ? I haven't bothered posting on the virtualbox forums because i will only get directed to this:?https://forums.virtualbox.org/viewtopic.php?f=22&t=31104 ? One thing I've noticed is that, in all of the tutorials it says to choose in the drop-down menu in virtualbox 'MAC OS X SERVER' but i don't get that option. ? I have attached all of the settings i have made in virtualbox and the ModCD screen. ? I can't think of anything else i need to say, except i am running win 7 64bit and my computer model is: Hp Pavilion p6 2200ea Desktop ? Now i just have to wait, please don't hesitate to reply, as I need as much help as i can get! ? thanks? ? [EDIT] i just realised i should have posted this in the virtual machine forums but i'm not sure how to move my thread ?
  8. I've installed iAtkos ML2 onto virtualbox. ?It runs really well but hangs everytime I shut it down. ?Sometimes it will hang after "System uptime in nanoseconds ###########", and other times it will produce the output shown in the image below. Does anyone know what causes these errors and/or how to fix them?

  10. Greetings, ? I am trying to install Mountain Lion in a virtual machine on an Ubuntu Linux 12.04 desktop. ? ? I am doing the following: ? 1) Booting the hackboot 0.7 iso 2) replacing the hackboot 0.7 iso with a Mountain Lion dmg? 3) pressing F5 4) pressing Enter ? I then get a message saying "Cannot find mach_kernel". ? ? Any help would be much appreciated. ?I want to install this OS so that I can do some IOS development. ?Someone else will be doing the publishing on a genuine mac. ?I will just be editing some code. ? ? Thanks, Frimble
  11. Update:? I was finally able to get up and running with Hazard's Snow Leopard image.? I'm not really stuck on Mountain Lion so I'm happy with the results ? ? ------------------------- Hello, ? I'm trying to figure out how to get osx working on my system with virtualbox. ? Specs are: ? AMD Phenom II 3.4ghz quad core 8gb RAM nVidia GeForce GTX 660 MSI 760GM-E51 motherboard ? Here are the settings I'm using for VirtualBox: https://i.imgur.com/uoiraNN.png ? I've tried following this guide, but none of the 3 iso's that I downloaded will run (probably they're intel-based instead of amd?): http://lifehacker.com/5938332/how-to-run-mac-os-x-on-any-windows-pc-using-virtualbox ? Then I downloaded N{censored}'s 10.8.2 installer, which has an AMD kernel, and it starts working fine...however the time remaining starts out at 24 minutes, and then it takes like 5 minutes per "minute" remaining.? So something seems wrong with the I/O since it's so slow.? Then when it gets about 3/4 finished it just locks up (with no mouse movement).? ? I've spent an entire day on this now and am stumped...is there another image that might work?? I'm not stuck on Mountain Lion but I'm getting a bit tired of waiting several hours for another 5gb image to download that won't even boot.? ? I'm hoping there's some simple setting I'm missing that would get this working?? Or another image that is more likely to work better in virtualbox? ? Please help
  12. Hello there, I need to install Mac OS X Lion in VirtualBox. I have already read many guides which are saying that you can install Mac OS X if you follow them. But these guides didn't work for me. My configuration is: Motherboard: some Gigabyte, I can look up if needed CPU: AMD Phenom 1100T RAM: 8 GiB Graphics: Nvidia GeForce GT-430 (1GiB) HDD: 1TiB Operating system: GNU/Linux, distro Debian testing with kernel 3.2.0-2-686-pae (32-bit) VirtualBox: version Oracle VirtualBox 4.2.6 r82870 with installed USB extension; fully functional with any other virtual systems The only "Hackintosh" I got working is iAtkos S3 version 2, my file has md5 hash: 55d3aaae14435065b53acb61e3bccae2 This iAtkos works for install, so I normally installed it in VirtualBox, BUT .. I just can't boot installed system. Every time it hangs up on blank black screen and it is using 100% of CPU power (one of CPU cores). So in this moment I am stuck, and I don't know how to continue.. Is there any way how to install Mac OS X Lion into VirtualBox on my computer? Thank you very much for your any help.
  13. Hi there users of OSx86.net, I need some help with kexts on N{censored} Mountain Lion, which I installed on VirtualBox (just to try it, but I'm going to install it on the hard disk) on my laptop ASUS K55VB. Having some troubles with the install process changing drivers settings during it, I chosen a basic installation. Doing it, I gained a ML with basic resolution, no sounds, no cam, no usb, while .iso images work when mounted by VBox. I need to know if there's a site where I can get those Kexts. Thanks!
  14. Hello, I'm an independent C++ developer going to cross-platform recently. My main development environment is under Windows 7 and I've several Virtualbox machines around for dev & tests. About Mac OSX, I've successfully installed a 10.6.8 Snow Leopard using Darwin legacy kernel 10.8 v2 (installed from a "Snow_Leopard_10.6.1-10.6.2_SSE2_SSE3_Intel_AMD.iso", then updated with "MacOSXUpdCombo10.6.8.dmg" and MB{censored} patch as stated in the guide I've followed). These last days, I've changed my main dev station to stop waiting hours at every compiler options change and be able to launch several vrtualbox machines at the same time. Then, I've moved all my Virtualbox machines toward my new PC... And all my Windows and Linux guests work well, but not the OSX one : it simply stucks on the grey Apple screen (or a black screen if I use the -v boot switch). I've tried to change OSX guest's settings and even disabled the maximum of possible components (COM ports, USB, sound, NIC), but it's still the same result. I've also tried different boot switches like -x -f and -F, but it didn't helped. So, is there a safe way to move my OSX guest from my old host to the new one ? I've taking care to buy a new AMD-based PC to preserve my OSX guest, but it seems to be not enough. And, honnestly it would be a nightmare to re-install from scratch ; since I've several OSX guests and the dev one is highly prepared with my dev environment (libs, IDE, dev. tools, compiler, debugger, etc). Is there a way to debug and succeed to boot my OSX Snow Leopard guest on my new host PC ? For information (hardware being are surely important, even if Virtualbox is supposed to isolate guests), my old PC was a ABIT KN9S motherboard with an AMD Athlon 64 X2 3800+ (2-core, 2GHz) and 4 GB of RAM (all 4GB being in use using PAE option and a ramdrive at upper 1GB beyond the 3GB limit) under Windows 7 Pro 32-bit. My new PC is a Asus M5A99X EVO R2.0 motherboard with an AMD FX-8350 (8-core, 4GHz, slightly overclocked to 4.3GHz by autofeature of UEFI/BIOS) and 16 GB of RAM under Windows 7 Pro 64-bit. In both cases (old and new host), my OSX guest is configured to use one CPU core only and declared as "Mac OS X" version (not "Mac OS X 64-bit") ; however, I've tried to change this on the new host and it doesn't succceed to achieve booting. Hoping in your lighted advices... I'm in the fog right now ;s -- EDIT : maybe it can help to identify the issue (maybe not), but I've try to reinstall a new fresh OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard guest from "Snow_Leopard_10.6.1-10.6.2_SSE2_SSE3_Intel_AMD.iso" and at time to boot on this install DVD, I get the error screen that you can see in the attached image below (screen-capture from Virtualbox). Image in real size at ImageShack® - Online Photo and Video Hosting So, could it be an incompatibility with my graphic (AMD Radeon based) card in both cases (fresh OSX install and existing moved OSX guest) ? If yes, how to workaround (should I change my graphic card or is there a way to inject the right OSX drivers) ? -- EDIT #2 : the vm_page_set_colors error (see the image above) during fresh install is solved using the boot option "colors=32" (seen this tip at AMD FX 4100 - can't boot into any version of OS X [Archive] - InfiniteMac)... But another fatal error occurs later doing Virtualbox displays "Virtualbox stopped to work" (my translation from a French message)... So, at this step, knowing neither setup nor existing OSX succeed to boot, I'm wondering what to do to solve the problem ? -- EDIT #3 : I've found a combination of boot switches which works So, we can consider it's solved, unless the fact I don't really know what are the essential switches and what are the optional ones to succeed to boot. My current successfull combination is "colors=32 cpus=1 arch=i386 busratio=20" and "-v" to see what happens. Also, I get a double panic on system exit (using the apple menu), but i's another (and minor) problem.
  15. Despite my setting the video memory in Virtualbox to the maximum, at 128MB, my Mountain Lion VM only shows in the System Profiler as supporting 5MB of video memory, and whatever I do I can't seem to get it to actually support 128MB in practice. After doing a lot of research, I believe this is what's causing Mountain Lion's graphics to be really laggy. Window minimizing and maximizing from the dock is choppy, and the dock magnification is flickering as well. Flash player objects and Top Sites in Safari also flash and stutter with lots of white. The Applications folder, which I've placed in the dock, is jerky when it opens. Launchpad is barely usable. I've tried searching around the internet for answers -- specifically for Mountain Lion virtual machine installs -- but I can't find anything useful. For what it's worth, I have an Acer Aspire V3-771G-9875, equipped with Intel Core i7-3610qm quad core processor and Intel HD4000 integrated graphics + NVIDIA GeForce GT 650M. I also have Snow Leopard 10.6.2 and 10.6.8 (clone + update) installed as virtual machines on Virtualbox. 10.6.2's System Profiler shows up correctly as supporting 128MB of VRAM, but the updated clone (10.6.8) only shows up as supporting 3MB of VRAM. (There's a thread on here with a fix for that (http://www.osx86.net/10-6-snow-leopard/11705-10-6-8-video-vram-limited-8-mb-virtualbox-2.html), but I couldn't get that to work either. However, it doesn't matter as much to me, since Snow Leopard runs smoothly as a VM either way.) As for the sluggish Mountain Lion VM, does anyone have any suggestions on how to fix it? Thanks.
  16. Got little help here so moved thread to: http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=279758
  17. I recently installed iAtkos L1 on VirtualBox 4.1 (Host: Windows 7 on Acer 5750g i7). Then I updated it to 10.7.3. Almost everything works fine. Mouse, Keyboard, Sound, Network but Video! I managed to increase the resolution to 1366x768 (Maximum). But VB does not allow me to set vram more than 256 Mb and 3D accelerator options seems to do nothing. Therefore, graphics is very slow. I wonder if i can increase the graphics quality by any means?
  18. Virtualized Lion configuration

Hi all ! I'm fairly new to Mac OS X. I'm a web developer in need of a VM with OSX for testing purposes. I installed it using Virtualbox and the Soul Dev Team pre-installed VM but I have no sound and I am stuck to 1024x768. They have a link pointing here for drivers but I must confess I have absolutely no idea what I should get to make it work. Think you could help me ?
  19. Thanks mostly to everyone posting on these forums, I've gotten Snow Leopard up and running inside Virtual Box on my Desktop: AMD Phenom II X4 955 (3.2 GHz) 8 GB RAM Windows 7 64-Bit I set the thing up mostly using the process here but to summarize: Used EmpireEFI4 for AMD Using the Mac OS X Server (64-bit) Configuration Gave the Machine 2048 MB of Memory Installed from ISO made from legal retail copy of Snow Leopard The install completed and I can boot into the OS without any problems. As far as I can tell, the OS is running as well as can be expected with no kernel panics but for some reason I can't get the guest OS to recognize more than 1 GB of memory: And here's the the memory setup from Virtual Box: Anybody run into this problem or have any suggestions for getting the guest OS to notice that I'm giving it more memory? Is there anything else I should be checking? Any more information I should be providing to help provide clues? Thanks in advance!
  20. Hi all, I'm trying to add VRAM to my Snow Leopard OSX guest OS, but it's limited to 8 MB even though I set the guest Video Memory to max 128 in VirtualBox guest settings. I also noticed if I use the built in VirtualBox EFI feature, the VRAM limits to 4 MB! Even worse, that firmware doesn't support resolutions over 1440x900. At the moment I'm using the Chimera bootloader from the latest MB{censored}, which allows for higher resolutions but no VRAM over 8 MB. Any ideas? Do I need to load another driver in the guest, if so which one?
