Ok so it worked but after rebooting those kexts were causing kernel panic. I am trying to get the DSDT working so the cpu will get recognized better but no succes. Maybe a new one will work. Some better news is that I have the battery monitor and such working. Not a big brake through or something but it still is something :). Go here to download. Then follow the instructions I posted there. Hackintosh VoodooBattery HP dv6 7000 - Downloads - OSx86.net

Update: So new things started to work. I messed about in the org.chameleon.Boot. I set the system type to laptop and set ethernet built in. So after doing so I put my ethernet cable in my laptop (before booting) and the ethernet is working. I am actually typing this from OS X. This makes a huge difference not having to switch from windows to mac all the time. At the moment I have an ssdt that when I compiled it didn't show errors and had all 8 cores in it (0 to 7), I think it was the 7th ssdt that I got from windows. I am using that at the moment together with drop ssdt, generate p-states and generate c-states. I do not know if this is doing anything at the moment, but it sure didn't fix it to be the right Ghz, so I think we will need to have the DSDT for that. Anyway hope ethernet works for you guys.

amazing work guys, its crazy how fast this is coming along. I was wondering if this will be possible to install (somewhat easily) on different variants of the dv6. i have the i5-3210M processor, no dedicated graphics and was wondering if there's anything different i will/might have to do to install properly?

What's your exact model #? You might have to have a different DSDT and cpu management w/ lapic fix but some work might carry over.

It looks like a very similar model... I'll bet the power management would work and most everything else, including the Intel HD 4000 graphics... maybe you can help us test.

Yes it should work. Some tweaks will have to be made but that shouldn't be to difficult.
